This is a CM10 kang, built from source mostly for my own use, but I decided to also offer it here in case it can be of use to others.
This ROM will fit into the system partition on the Xoom with Team EOS gapps, leaving approximately 5 Mb of free space. This will not only allow error free installation without any deletions, but also allow you space to flash some extra stuff later.
I achieve this by moving most of the ringtones to data/media/ringtones, removing system videos, and moving most of the free live wallpapers and some inessential apps to the data partition. The stuff I moved adds up to around 50 Mb, so you can see how this would never actually have fitted into the system partition otherwise.
I have also included a few user apps in the data partition which I personally wouldn't be without, even on a clean ROM install. Any of these can be easily removed without any negative consequences.
Features:
Built daily from the latest CM10 source.
Fits into the Xoom's system partition with space to spare.
Larger recent app thumbs to make use of the Xoom's larger display.
New Expand Desktop power menu option (toggled from Settings).
Airplane mode power menu option can be toggled from Settings.
Silent mode power menu option can be toggled from Settings.
Clear all button in the recent apps menu.
Working, upgraded calculator app.
Goo.im update notifications.
Includes the following free apps as user apps:
AdFree - block most ads using a hosts file.
Fast Reboot - clear recent apps from memory.
Flash Player - no longer available from the market for Jellybean.
Gmail - not included in the Team EOS gapps package.
Goo Manager - get OTA updates or download other ROMs.
Hackers Keyboard - includes cursor keys and other essentials.
Quick Boot - reboot without using the power switch.
Root Browser - root file access.
Titanium Backup - backup and restore your apps.
Bonus apps:
Play Board - recommendations for apps and games from the Google Play Store
Paper Artist - Photo effects and drawing package
I may also add future non-standard CM10 features and cherry picks down the road if I think them useful.

Team EOS Gapps: http://goo.im/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/gapps/gapps-jb-20120802-eos-signed.zip
Installation:
1. If coming from a non-CM10 based ROM, do a factory reset. You may need to anyway if you experience problems.
2. Format system.
3. Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
4. Install the ROM.
5. Install the gapps.
6. Reboot and enjoy.
If you want to kang my kang, my source code changes are all here: https://github.com/zigackly in the jellybean branch.
Known issues: None.

Thanks, glad to see some kanged roms for the xoom.
Dropbox files are down because I'm transferring my stuff to goo.im. Shouldn't be long, and I will add today's build too.
New download link in place, and these can also be downloaded with goomanager of course. I will hook future versions up for update notifications via goomanager, but today's build was already in progress when my account came through.
Latest version now features goo.im notification support and an expand desktop power menu option, toggled from Settings, which is useful for gaming and watching video.
Latest release 20121009b fixes the problem in the calculator app by rolling back the advanced features which do not work for the wingray build. Some modifications also to allow more configuration of the power menu. There may be a pause in releases for a day or two whilst the 4.1.2 changes are merged into the CM10 base.
Android 4.1.2 build uploaded.
EDIT: wifi not working. Only worth flashing if you want to see what's different.

Apparently wingray M2 has working wifi...so maybe you can build off it?
But, you probably already know that lol

As a matter of fact that's news to me. I don't see which branch in github to use to build it though.
Today's update features:
Android 4.1.2 now with working wifi.
No known issues at present.
Oops, Camera not working. Will have a look at that tomorrow.
Camera is now working again in the 20121013 build. Back to no known issues, unless you spot any

Blew the dust off my xoom and installed this build, you're right, everything seems to be fine. Thanks
20121014 contains quite a few new merges from the CM10 base since the last update, including one of my favourites: a vastly improved AOSP keyboard.
I have also bundled two Samsung apps which are difficult to get hold of for the Xoom, via the Codename Sammy Nexus 7 ROM:
Play Board - recommendations for apps and games from the Google Play Store
Paper Artist - Photo effects and drawing package
These are user apps, so are easily uninstalled if you don't like them.
Build 20121015 has a fix for the menu button problem caused by a recent commit to cyanogenmod source code.
There's also an update with a circular battery icon which I've merged in.
i am going to try this out, thanks
Hi thanks for the rom. Seems nice
I know it's your rom and I normally don't make requests, but as they say, if you don't ask you don't get
Any chance of SuperSu instead of superuser. I just think that it plays nicer with jellybean
Thanks for your work anyway

Thanks for the feedback. I did buy a license for SuperSU pro in the early days of JB, so I could get some value out of including SuperSU instead of Superuser. I went with Superuser because it compiles in with CM, but that doesn't mean I can't replace it. I'll see what time I have to try it out.

ROM Factory
What is ROM Factory?
Its a tool that will allow the user to create a picture perfect .img from your boot and system partition. It will then create an update.zip from it.
What is a "Fruit Cake"?
A fruit cake is the finish product, a self contain rom, already ready for installation, already inside an update.zip.
So really what does it do?
It allows a bootloader unlocked user to create a full copy of their boot and system partition. All of it, including mods and changes done to either one of those partitions.
Can this be use for easier rom development?
Yes! Beyond just its normal capabilities! After installing the resources you can modify the script and add things to it in *sdcard* /fcm/workdir! Once you are done adding and changing things in there, press "Create ROM".
Supported Devices:
olympus (atrix), sunfire (photon), triumph, WX435, fb0 (triumph), p999 (lg g2x), p990 (lg o2x), p970 (lg optimus black), ace (htc desired hd), pyramid (htc sensation), galaxys2, GT-I9100, GT-I9100M, GT-I9100T, SGH-I777, SGH-I727, hercules, crespo (nexus s), crespo4g (nexus s 4g), toro (cdma galaxy nexus), maguro (gsm galaxy nexus)
Experimental Support:
umts_jordan(defy), wingray, stingray (xoom)
Your phone must be rooted!
Step One: Press the Install Resources button on screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
Step Two: Press the Create Fruit Cake button on the screen.
Patience this step could take up to 5 minutes.
You use this application at your own risk, I am in no way responsible for any damage this application causes.

Afaik a nandroid backup is everything including data folder. This one i think is a little less than that. As op said it copies the rom so devs can pass them to their beta testers etc. A nandoid backup is including ur personal settings like bookmarks or last viewed webpages and contacts etc. And a nandroid backup is recovery dependant. Afaik a nandroid from a cwm v4 base wont be suitable for a phone with a cwm v5 phone.

1.6 - The update that took a month. Will be release today. This will be amazing. I'm just waiting on testers.
Advance Mode
Apps Mode
Back Up Mode
New look
Open Source components
New site, new forums, new devices.
The update will be made available late tonight or early tomorrow. Depends on how tire I am after i get off work.
We are alive and kicking. Since release, Fruit Cake Maker has been downloaded 1,956 times. We are 556 active developers. A total of 12 bugs have been crushed. We currently work on 20+ devices and devices variants.
Nightlys and experimental.
Starting Feb 1st or 2nd. My build bot will begin auto compiling nightlys for those who want to experiment with the latest changes. Nightlys will be compile each night and made available no later than midnight.
An experimental build will begin to be compile mid Feb. the build will be compile every friday at 6pm. The experimental build will feture a different preference screen, and will require the user to specify all the variables. ie: boot location, system location, storage, mode. so on. This build aims at enthusiast who wish to use the tool on a non supported device.
FCM now has requirements. Busybox must be installed to use the back up mode.
Thank guys for your support.
I think it's great personally, used it on DHD also with ease.
I'm surprised this project doesn't receive more attention.
It certainly deserves it.
Many thanks
Wow. If I get it well, it create a flashable zip image of your current installation, with apps etc?
Wow. That will be a lot easier to share beta ROMs in the future.
Many many thanks.

I'm currently waiting on Google.
I submitted the new version into the market, but somehow i ended up with an older version being available for download. hopefully this issue will be solved soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
1.6 finally!
Some of the testers are reporting errors with the new modes, but changing storage location seem to be working quit good. I will be writing a tutorial on how to properly use all the new modes. Regardless, this new version requires Busybox for app mode, and back up mode. It must be installed on /system/xbin << same location used by cm7 and cm9. I will be releasing a new version tomorrow or Thursday, to fix some of the new mode woes.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Very good work!
Awesome! keep the good work, I will try it tonight from home.
Sounds Great
Hello,
The ROM Factory sounds like a great Idea, im not a developer but i can see why its great for devs,
Question is, will it be useful for just a user like I am?
if i am to use it to back up, how does it differ from Titanium and CWM NAND backup?
Thanks

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even system components individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better. Now for every element that you like choose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself.
This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

If you have trouble booting right after you flash, try flashing the kernel via fastboot:
extract boot.img from the zip
boot in to bootloader (turn off phone, hold the vol up button, and plug in usb cable)
fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot boot.img
reboot
This rom is based on FreeXperia's CM10 and therefore anything that doesn't work there, will not work here.
Known issues:
Camera does not work
If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

The memory management was changed from ICS to JB, and with the camera libs being proprietary (Sony won't release source), a lot of work remains to make the camera work. However, on a positive note, we may be able to use libs from a different Xperia device as soon as Sony ships JB for one of them.
FWIW, camera aside, with the latest changes from FXP137 this rom runs very smooth and seems quite stable :silly:
Hope Sony releases them cause that is the only thing that is making me not flashing them
Is there any interest in a CM9 based version of Paranoid with a working camera? Or should I just put the project on hold until Sony releases JB camera drivers in the next couple months?

A couple months seem so far yet it seem so close. Hopefully, sony would release them in a few weeks. But seeing how the latest line of flagships are still ICS, it would be a miracle for them to release drivers anytime soon.

Introduction
Here is my port of JB AOSP 4.3 for our Xperia S. This is a work in progress, it's currently missing few of the patches I used in 4.2.X and few things are completely untested.
Installation and downloads
You need unlocked bootloader and a working recovery.
Download installation zip from here, mirror thanks to @androidlover007 (I know, uploaded.net is not the fastest of the earth, multipload mirrors coming soon. I'm not against posting any other mirror).
Copy it to internal storage
Wipe Data/Cache
Install gapps for 4.3. Currently, we don't have "official" gapps from CM team, I used PA ones with good success.
Reboot and let the rom settle down a bit
Important: Current release has a recovery with broken offline charging, you should flash a fixed one after installing the rom to avoid any trouble. Check this post.
Kernel source code is here (branch jb-4.2-experimental).
Note: this rom flashes its own kernel that comes with TWRP recovery and last version of Boot Manager. Just use volume up/down to navigate boot manager menu and power to select if you want to go to TWRP. Don't play with Boot Manager options if you don't know what you're doing.
Status

FAQ
Can I flash any kernel with it ?
No. This rom is using Nexus 4 proprietaries and requires matching video drivers. You must use embedded kernel.
Something is not working, crashed, whatever, how can I help ?
Please provide logs! Description is not enough, I need at least logcat and ideally dmesg. If phone reboots, go to recovery, get the /proc/last_kmsg file and provide it to me.
Dev options are missing ?
No, they're just hidden, it's now the default behavior in 4.2.x. To enable it, go to settings / about and tap multiple times on build number, menu will be enabled and stick after reboot.
* reserved, now you can go on *
Great And Fast Work.

Is there need to report bugs or it is too early for such thing?
Anyhow, I'm downloading right now, will report back with observations.
Log:
- Booting seems fine, some glitches but nothing to worry about...
- Font is kinda different, I like it, very much. It is even more close to Helvetica and for me it is very nice typeface porn
- Touch vibration is kinda shorter, more direct but weaker.
- Developer tools are updated with very nice features, everything mentioned at Google I/O 2013.
- Animations are smoother. It's not that "new ROM" smoothness, transitions between screens appear like constant 60fps, without that lag that sometimes occurs regardless on hardware.
- There are some differences in first time configuration, nothing radical but still...
- Google Play Store wont open, close it and relaunch and then it will show TOS. It lags a bit.
- Is it me or DPI is kinda different? Everything seems to be bigger. Icons in drawer, Google play apps... SystemUI feels kinda same. EDIT: 320dpi.
- AOSP keyboard icon is different. RAM usage is same, no lower usage or anything special. Available RAM - 622 MB.
- Touch responsivness seems a bit better.
- Texdroider DPI (DPI changer) doesn't work. On 4.2.2 it would work with OpenSEMC, but it's not the case on 4.3.
SuperSU does not work (no su binaries), this ROM is unrooted. To root it again do the following:
Download SuperSU 1.51 from here
Move it to your root folder on your phone
Turn your phone off, boot it into recovery
flash that zip you copied to your root folder "SuperSU 1.51"
Reboot to system.

WOW You've been busy. lol
Thanks for all the effort you have put in.
As already stated: wow! You're on a roll! Thanks a lot for sharing everything with the community.
Can we hope for an Everest version of this as well?
Sent a long time ago from a Galaxy S2 far, far away...
cant wait till everest cm comes!
Dude seriously? This is way beyond awesome :victory:
I bet you are having longer new year holiday for this Waiting for the Everest as well
For the user, what is the difference of KitKat Omni and CM in this device?
Hmm what the !!, I thought CM was dead for Xoom??Big round of applause for you all, especially from us Everesters...
Everest already?! You're not human! :sly:
Really eager to try this on my Everest. As asked above, difference of user experience between CM and Omni?
Once again, a big round of applause for you Schischu!

sadly, it isn't updating its "FAILING" error executing updater binary, ooops I think it bricked
Try redownloading the rom.
There was an error on the server which caused all files downloaded earlier today to be invalid.
And the md5sum is also invalid, so dont copy it to your device.
Which gapps do i need to download by the way?
I've managed to successfully install the ROM and have found the following issues -
Not sure what version of gapps to install as there are no links. Tried downloading gapps-kk-20131208.zip from cyanogen but get the following error.
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/gapps-kk-20131208.zip'
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/gapps-kk-20131208.zip
Updating partition details...
Messaging - Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped
Camera - Unfortunately, Camera has stopped
Flash content - no video, audio only
Also, in the developer options the lowest Animation scale duration is .5x (not .25x)
Great to see some fine development, keep up the good work.
Also like to add to the above that the font inside the folders are cut off.
Font for the battery percentage inside the circle also not centred.
Thanks for your great work. My Xoom feels faster than ever in everyday use.
Edit:
Just installed nova and everything working fine minus camera crashing.
CM11 for the xoom is awesome news!!! I just installed todays (wingray) and as mentioned the camera isn't working. Also, where is "mmersive mode?" Any idea why on the omni rom with immersive mode is enabled, homescreen scrolling is completely lag free?
Again, thanks for continuing to take the time and support this device. I just came from stock 4.1.2, tried cm10.1 but it hung up too much. CM11 is ridiculously fast!

both PA and banks core gapps work fine
Sent from my Nexus 5
Just installed the latest version (cm-11-20140104-UNOFFICIAL-1537+0100-wingray). Camera and messaging issues now fixed :good: Also installed pa gapps and the apps seem to be running fine (gmail, play store, voice search and youtube).
The only other thing to note is that when scrolling from one home screen to another you are left with a white transparent background. Not sure if this launcher related or something else.
Great ROM for such an early build.
Edit:
Forgot to mention that flash content from bbc.co.uk is still audio only.
Amazing !
Better compatibilty than OMNIROM.
More fluidity, faster boot and now, games from King.com work fine.
Thanks very much.
Thank you for CM11, but no advantages (only double-tap to sleep) to Omni-Rom, but same disadvantages:
- TB has problems with superuser (can't delete sams apps)
- fc with toogles
- start in recovery?
- Omni feels smoother
- no expanded mod
I got the updated rom in, successful, but Gapps =kk-20131119 failed, is there a link for PA or Banks?

As we're getting back into the thread game, keeping up with threads and updating them as per changelogs can be too hectic given our schedule. However, very detailed changelogs always go up on our Google+ page, follow us for constant updates!
Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano and Banks GAPPS work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_bacon_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the GAPPS package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, do not do anything else.
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM & GAPPS. Meaning, do not flash anything like a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

to the good old days!
Welcome back guys,
I do have a question, is there any chance you guys have also given some magic to the camera? Because I thought you guys are affiliated with oneplus, maybe having access to the good stuff ^.^?
Don't currently have the time to reinstall my phone, so can't test it myself.
Kind regards,
domistroy
6.0.1 is a great update to 6.0, lots of issues ironed out that were plaguing the initial release, congrats and thank you!
I just think that the in-call volume could get a bit more love, I remember it being far louder on the previous ROM I used daily, Sultan's CM13. It is still too low and some static noise can be heard in the background while talking to someone.

I don't use themes to be honest, always tend to run Android the way Google meant for it to look and feel.
Maybe you should try reinstalling the theme itself and try again how it goes.

In that case I don't know really, mine is working just fine, no force closes even when I open the Themes app. The only difference from my setup and yours is that I'm always using OpenGapps, but yet again, don't know how would that impact the theme engine...
You probably have something else installed that might be causing it.
What camera blobs that this rom using??
Hopefully otg usb will work soon!
Thanks for the awesome rom!
Awesome you guys are back i haved always loved to switch roms from PA to CM back and forth because both roms are amazing and now i get to have pa mm on my opo The new boot animation is killer too
For those FCs with Themes and Themes Provider, please clear the apps data and reboot. It's in the G+ pages but probably needs a FAQ here too.
FWIW not all themes work, even with CMTE. I'm guessing some work is needed either in the TE side or by the theme's Developer

The previous build was EXT4 only, but they could have added it on the most recent one.
Hard to say for certain. The updater-script requires /system to be EXT4 though.
Can anyone confirm the latest build is EXT4 only as well?
