Flashing stock rom from jellybean without original backup - HTC One X

Hi all,
I need to return my phone due to bad interference on the other end of the line when making calls.
I understand they may refuse warranty because I have rooted but am going to give it a go anyway.
To try to make things easier I wanted to put my phone back to stock, it is a UK O2 phone.
I found the appropriate RUU but it seems you cannot flash an older version of the rom using this system, I have got no backup of my original O2 rom so was wondering if it is available anywhere as a .zip to flash using clockwork mod or if anyone knows a way to flash the older version stock rom ?
Cheers for any help !

Stock Rom

Well Im having problems with my current rom and i would like to go back to the stock rom. Now I went here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=685835 and tried the .exe and the zip but none of them work. Im currently using MIUI V 12.3 final. Since that thread is more than 6 months old there has to be some other ways. This is killing me any help would be great.
Do you want to keep root? If not, just run one of the recent ruu's.
If you do want to keep root, just download the sprint lovers rom, and follow the instructions in the thread. It's that simple.
Does anybody use nandroid anymore?
Always nandroid the stock rom after its rooted and has a custom recovery.

i actually had 3 or 4 back ups of the original rooted stock but when i went to restore of them they werent there. I either deleted by accident or something else happens. i always back up my roms.

Now, this is a simple question, but I'm not going to flame. If you want to UNroot then this is what you want (this is the most current 3.70.651.1 software)

[Q]flashing back to stock rom?

I'll get my phone back from motorola after having the speaker problem soon. Also i was quite happy when i looked around the defy section and found out that there are so many 2.2 roms. So now i have this question.
1. I'm not familiar with nandroid back and all that. So if someone can give me some explaination of how it works and what i need to do to have a backup of my rom so i can flash back to orignal one whenever i want?
2. Also i heard from people that some ROMs are not flashable or you can't get back to stock rom (recovery), if so then how you know that certain rom isn't flashable
3. Is there a difference between recoving (flashing stock rom) and downgrading?
Thanks !
No one actually knows what flashing is? recovery....i'm surprised...do answer please if you know anything

Yes but you would probably need to flash the appropriate RUU as, most (if not all ), custom roms can not be returned to official by doing an OTA update.
but it will be problems with warrantys?
my doubt is if the phone has a malfuntion it still will be acepted in the warranty without the stock rom.
You shouldn't have a problem with a hardware malfunction, and if you restore to stock using the RUU, they are likely to be unaware of any previous modifications.
ok ive aldready downgraded just for testing purposes anda ive saved the updated rom that came when a press to find updates in the phone. im going to give it a try.
thank you
Good thing u backed up stock rom!!!!
lets give it a try... not very confident.
Just had my phone returned after warranty repair, I had restored to stock with t-mobile ruu and no problems

Questions with root! Help needed!

So today im going to flash a new rom on my Dinc. It was rooted before but the SD card that was in it is the one here in my tbolt. Can I flash a new rom on the Dinc? Or will it not work? Is it still rooted? How do I find out? I thought I could do a factory wipe on the phone to make it "stock" but my phone still ended up with the old rom. What should I do? I don't want to brick my phone. My gf will be unsing it soon.

If you still have a custom recovery on your phone, it's rooted. In order to return to the stock ROM, you must flash the stock ROM. If you want to go completely back to stock and unroot, then follow the return to stock directions. Here, let me google that for you.

Can I get back to stock with using twrp backup ? ( s-on device)

Guys, its just interesting for me to know I have s on htc one m9. I am using custom rom currently and want to get back to stock rom. But I don't want to pay money and make my phone s off so I wondered to know, can I get stock rom if I will flash stock roms backup. Anyway thank you for answerng :good:
Simple answer is no. You will still have a modified recovery and you'll need to flash the stock one. I dont have one. Do not request it on this forum as you may get banned. It's proprietary code.
