[Q] No dialpad option while making a phonecall - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have a Galaxy Nexus with android 4.1.1. but every time i make a call i cant find a dial pad option. its there when before i make the call but during a call i cant seem to find it. so i cant use phone cards, enter my voice mail password, enter extensions, etc... if anyone out there knows where to find it please let me know.

Bottom of the call screen. Little icon that looks like a dial pad shows/hides it. Hidden by default presumably to cut down on accidental inputs by your face.

Dialpad is available once the call is connected.

How to turn off gingerbread selector thing beeps?

Hey so I'm running ef02, been pretty sweet so far. I have one anoyance though.
When your typing and you go to use the one touch selector thingy (see the little blue arrows http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.3-highlights.html) it beeps all the time when I used it.
Example, click on the middle of a word and the selector auto moves the selector line to the end of the word and.... beep.
How do you shut off that beep?

Yeah I have that off. I figured out I have to turn off "audible touch tones" (which is supposed to be just for the dial pad) to get it to stop beeping. Sad, I want my dialpad sounds.

i dont know if this might help but try using another keyboard.
Yup another keyboard might work, that selection should be for dialpad only.
Haha I still laugh at that...beep

Sounds like your using Google voice. If so you need to go onto their desktop site log in and switch off call screening.

[Q] Unlock phone without either accepting or declining call?

When I get a call while doing something on my phone, there's option, to leave the "incoming call-screen" to exit to the home screen (or the app I was using before), bad thing about this is: Sometimes I don't want to accept a call(/to talk to certain persons), but also don't want to decline, because caller would be pissed (or in case of unknown number, maybe be pissed).
Any workaorund?
Make a swipe from the center of the screen (the call icon) up and click on "custom message". Once you enter into message screen press home and you're done

I mean you can get back to the home screen, but the call disconnects.

Not sure about it. I think the size will be pretty much the same as the galaxy s3
there was an option in cm7 that allowed for a call to be "backgrounded", meaning it appeared on notification bar, allowing to continue using the system without rejecting it.

Dialing Numbers from Call Log - extra step?

All - if this has already been addressed in these forums, I apologize.
I'd like to know if there is a way to change the settings in the phone such that when I am in the call log screen, and I tap a number or a contact, the phone will dial that number immediately, rather going to the next screen, which provides the option to either dial or text.
I've searched the settings whilest in the call log screen and nothing is jumping out at me
All help is appreciated

If you have a stock TW rom all you do is slide your finger to the right, and the phone will dial that number. Slide to the left and you will be at the text message screen.

[Q] bypassing Screenlock b on incoming calls

Does anyone know how I can bypass the Screen Lock on a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Rooted stock 4.2.2) when an incoming call is ringing the phone?
I have hd caller ID that has an easy way to answer the phone, but my wife does not know how to open the Screen Lock so she can't answer the phone when I'm busy in the yard, garage, etc.
I've been looking for a quick fix, but I have not come across anything usable.
Thanks all of you for all your help to everyone that asks for it. Your answers often helps many individuals that have the same needs!
Aloha!
I am not sure if I completely understand. Are you saying that you have to unlock your phone to answer an incoming phone call? :/

Yes, the screenlock is still showing the big orange balloon.... I have to swipe the dots, then press answer.
That's weird cause even with screen lock, if there's an incoming call you should only need to swipe to answer or reject.

Are you running any lock screen programs like GoLocker or something similar? Default Android behaviour is to allow you to accept incoming calls without putting in your PIN/Pattern/Password. If you are not running another locker, then open up your dialer, press the menu soft key, and check your "call settings" options. Check the behaviours where you can press the home button to accept calls and see if you can accept calls that way. If not, remove your security code, restart your phone, and set it again. Let us know if any of these work for you.
