Does anyone know how I can bypass the Screen Lock on a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Rooted stock 4.2.2) when an incoming call is ringing the phone?
I have hd caller ID that has an easy way to answer the phone, but my wife does not know how to open the Screen Lock so she can't answer the phone when I'm busy in the yard, garage, etc.
I've been looking for a quick fix, but I have not come across anything usable.
Thanks all of you for all your help to everyone that asks for it. Your answers often helps many individuals that have the same needs!
Aloha!
I am not sure if I completely understand. Are you saying that you have to unlock your phone to answer an incoming phone call? :/

Yes, the screenlock is still showing the big orange balloon.... I have to swipe the dots, then press answer.
That's weird cause even with screen lock, if there's an incoming call you should only need to swipe to answer or reject.

Are you running any lock screen programs like GoLocker or something similar? Default Android behaviour is to allow you to accept incoming calls without putting in your PIN/Pattern/Password. If you are not running another locker, then open up your dialer, press the menu soft key, and check your "call settings" options. Check the behaviours where you can press the home button to accept calls and see if you can accept calls that way. If not, remove your security code, restart your phone, and set it again. Let us know if any of these work for you.

screen lock options are worthless for privacy because if someone wants to snoop thru the phone while any of the screen lock options (password, swipe pattern etc) all that has to be done is to call the locked phone from another, answer the call, and without hanging up, hit the home button or menu and bingo, full access to anything that is on the phone, text messages, contacts pics, whatever is accessible normally as if the screen lock was not being used...for the duration of the call. to begin with if the scren lock is on, a call should not be able to be answered with out some kind of eunlock sequence or password entry as well as with reading incoming texts which are displayed despite the screen being locked,(just have to be quick to look at notification bar to read it when it comes in)....
so is their an app that fixes this security flaw?

Although, what are the chances that someone who steals/finds your phone will have your number to call it anyways?

Then if you lose the phone don't call it that's the last thing I would do,, get myphone installed on your phone that way when you. Lose it you can track it or send it a text to wipe and lock the phone,,,

i.m not worried about the phone being stolen or lost, i have 'android lost' app for that, its others who do have access to that phone when i'm asleep or away from that phone, like snoopy girlfriend etc
there are other apps that can set passwords/pins/etc to individual apps. i forget that name but i'm sure it's not hard to find. there's one for locking files on your phone/sd card called iLock which i use.
I have a Galaxy Nexus with android 4.1.1. but every time i make a call i cant find a dial pad option. its there when before i make the call but during a call i cant seem to find it. so i cant use phone cards, enter my voice mail password, enter extensions, etc... if anyone out there knows where to find it please let me know.
Bottom of the call screen. Little icon that looks like a dial pad shows/hides it. Hidden by default presumably to cut down on accidental inputs by your face.

I think this setting might be buried in the S-Voice settings.

You have to disable vibration on the phone. Enable sound is ok but do not enable vibration. Set ring tone a little lower and shout "answer" or "reject".
Ok, will try that. But why is the text in notificatin bar gone?

Suddenly the text reappeared and the feature works. Can't say why....
Tx so far for all your help.

I am also having this issue. Its driving me crazy. On my iphone it was not an issue. But this new note 2 and my new voyager legend its not letting me answer the incoming call with my voice I have to take my hand off the wheel and hit the button to answer. Ive tried going into the svoice settings and doing what you guys recommended as well as disabling the vibrations. Still mothing.
You have to disable vibration on the phone. Only leave sound enabled and it should work.
I was having the same problem until I saw this thread today.
Same here.. It wasn't working and I even tried a factory reset. Lately I saw this thread and now it started working. No vibration should be enabled for this function to work. The popup message had already said this but I mistook it for the silent mode with vibration and kept on trying different ways. But the point as clear from above is, vibration should be fully disabled and the phone shoud be in ring only mode for answer via voice feature to function properly...
Hey guys. Now that we have root I have been messing around with G3 Tweaksbox/xposed to get the phone setup exactly to my liking. However, one thing I have not been able to figure out is how to disable the black button on the bottom of the lock screen that says "Emergency Call Press And Hold".
Has anyone found a way to disable this?

Also still searching for it. Gravitybox should do the trick but it won't work properly on my device so the button is still there.
Have you tried "no lock"?
It should only be there if you have no service correct?

emergency calls press and hold
Yes it occurs when i loose service/signal the problem becomes when i move to an area were i do get a good signal the phone remains stuck in the "emergency calls press and hold" mode until i reboot the phone. It happens several time a day. T-mobile has not offered any viable solution to the issue.

Hi guys,
an annoying drawback of this phone is that when the screen is only a little bit wet (after being in a pocket), the screen stops functioning. You then have to turn off the screen, clean it with your cloth, and then it will work again.
So when I am receiving a phone call, I often cannot use the swipe answering feature, because the screen simply doesn't react to my touches. This leaves me just ignoring the person calling.
I have tried some apps that are supposed to enable to answer by home button, but none of the apps worked.
Very grateful to any solutions!
