Be careful tho. I have heard stories of others running non verizon PRLs, like sprint, (not so much altell because verizon bought them out) which have been caught and have been charged ridiculous amounts of fines for doing so

I know this might be the wrong place to put this but since I post only in the Incredible forums (I have one and <3 it) i'm curious if the Nexus will only be available on t-mobile and if that is the case is it possible to get it to work with verizon or something? t-mobile here sucks. verizon is the only company that offers 3g here, not even AT&T does.
You could buy a samsung fascinate...

gsm cannot work on verizon's CDMA network

If I import it and lets say there was an update tomorrow or in the future how would I get the update since its unlocked and its not branded. I know there straight from Google but how do they push the update if I were to activate it on T-Mobile? someone please tell me. How does this go about for this phone
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
It will just be automatically updated. I'm in the u.s. on T-Mobile also and when the nexus one came out people from all over the world exported and they all received the updates at the same time. It does matter what country, network speed or if you are on wifi.

I learned this from the old nexus one forum that Google used to have.

Your device periodically checks in with Google's servers. It matters not what carrier you are on. Updates are sent out based on IMEI.

there was a hacked version like 2 years ago. i haven't seen another one since
maybe if you can find that version, flash a verizon PRL, then go to the play store and try and update the old version
Sorry but that would be wares correct I don't think you will find much here but you Never know this is a dev Site not for pirating. which this would be pirating because it is a Verizon only app

I believe the Verizon one let's you stream live games. The one for Sprint doesn't do live streaming.
Sprint had a nfl app that allowed streaming, then it dropped the streaming part, but still streamed some college football. But now seems this season Sprint isn't offering any kind of football app.
This happen a few years ago because Sprint was dropped as the "major" sponsor for the nfl , and Verizon was picked up.

It's free on Verizon. I don't see how it's pirating if you can make it work on other phones. That's like saying a ROM is pirating Samsung cause it shipped with its own ROM

It's pirating because you're stealing the service. It's like the old illegal cable boxes that decoded a signal you weren't legally entitled to.

The nfl 12 app works just fine.
Didn't Sprint used to have this?
Would be nice to have though.

Sprints does not let you watch the games like Verizon does. People have been able to crack the Verizon app so it will work on any carrier but they tightened up their security last year and they have not been able to crack it since

It's not pirating.
It would only be pirating if you are getting software for free that was otherwise paid for. The app itself is free...the service itself is free for Verizon. It was merely being ported to non-Verizon devices which are NOT using Verizon's data or any other PAID service from Verizon. We were still, for example, paying for our Sprint service for our data to use the app. In the end, it is an app being used on your own PAID data carrier. All other points are moot. Your example is not really good. A better example would be the Hulu app hack, where, you are still paying for a service, but you are now able to use it on devices that Hulu deemed "not compatible".
End rant.
Verizon pays millions of dollars for the right to NFL sponsorship. Somewhere around 720 million.

You do not see this as stealing to hack the app to work with Sprint?

They paid all those millions as a marketing ploy to help gain customers. Don't u think NFL would want to have all the carriers? Of course they do!! It's just like Apple and the iPhone only on AT&T...it was so they could get mass amounts of customers. More customers = more $$$. Once the contract was over, Apple didn't just want to be constricted to just AT&T because they too wanted more money.
If the app costs money, then yes...its considered piracy. The data u use to stream it on is your choice as long as u pay for the data service. It's not like people are stealing Verizon's data services. It's like this, f you buy a phone and your contract is over, shouldn't you be able to use that phone on any carrier that you wish?

No, it's a service included in Verizon's plan its not free and hacking the app, which has a user license is yes pirating and yes illegal.

If you want to force the Google Play version of Google Wallet to work here is all you have to do.
Edit your /system/build.prop file and find the line that says ro.product.device and change the value from ls970 or whatever your phone's value says to say maguro. Reboot your phone and make sure to clear Google wallets data before opening. It should then grant you access.
Edit: It has come to my attention that not only does the cell your on need to be forced to cover this app but your cell network must already provide coverage for this service. Granted your cell network allows Google Wallet, you should have success with this method.

The importance of this BTW is paying with NFC for those who feel left out.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 4
Unfortunately for me and my e971 this did not work. Glad to hear at least the LS970 users are getting some use out of it...
(I've tried editing build.prop and the MoDaCo Toolkit, nothing works. Oh well ).
Did you clear the app data and reboot? Vital steps

I did. I've tried before and couldn't get it working then either. It always just hangs on "Setting up Wallet, this may take up to 5 minutes". 15 minutes of waiting yields nothing.

Try it on WiFi. If you got to that screen you were successful. And yeah setup can take a while

I think its probably need some special DRM-like keys.
In other words, wont work if the phone is not from sprint or at&t.
Something similar in korea, you cant use nfc payments unless you running stock rom.
Ahh very true. It only works on certain cell networks. But if you have the right cell network and wrong phone this will set you up regardless of ROM. One thing that custom ROMs can do to change coverage of this app like mention before this is to change the device name, seeing as that is what Google Wallet verifies.

Thank you for the information.
However Build.Prop file edits are not really development. And definitely not original development.
This edit has been talked about all over XDA device forums.
Thread has been moved to the general section.

Not quite sure do you have sprint or att out there
Sent from my LG-LS970 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Neither. It's the Canadian model from Rogers, AKA E971.
EDIT: Of course, I'd be using Market Enabler, as it wouldn't work with my current Network provider. I just need (want, really) to know if the new versions of wallet will allow this, or (since the new Wallet can be installed on all phones) if I could just use Market Enabler to make this work now.
Nope only those networks support it
Sent from my LG-LS970 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hmm, Ok.
I was able to use Wallet with Market Enabler on my Galaxy Nexus, also on Rogers. Just for knowledge, what is the difference between the two phones that won't let it work?

I read recently its caused by a check for a secure element for wallet purchases on your network. If you have the SE on your SIM instead of built in to the phone there are methods of making that work i believe. If you want to try something else then change the model and network provider in that file also. Ive heard of it working.
