Be careful tho. I have heard stories of others running non verizon PRLs, like sprint, (not so much altell because verizon bought them out) which have been caught and have been charged ridiculous amounts of fines for doing so

I know this might be the wrong place to put this but since I post only in the Incredible forums (I have one and <3 it) i'm curious if the Nexus will only be available on t-mobile and if that is the case is it possible to get it to work with verizon or something? t-mobile here sucks. verizon is the only company that offers 3g here, not even AT&T does.
You could buy a samsung fascinate...

Get guys soon I will be getting an evo 4g and will be activating it on verizon now my question is are all the roms flashable without screwing up my prl code

How are you going to activate the EVO 4G on Verizon? As for flashing roms, they *should* have no effect on the PRL.

Won't happen. The DOJ, and FCC would have a very tough time approving it. Much less getting it past Congress. Too close to an election year. Plus if that were to happen then only thing you'll notice is possibly better reception, and a different looking invoice. Why do you think Chrysler still exists?

Oh. I see. I was thinking of something other than hacking the preferred roaming list. Thanks for the update. Take care.

To answer your question, no. Flashing a different ROM won't effect your PRL.
However, it will effect your APN settings for sure. There may be other settings that would be effected as well. Google around for threads about people using Evos on PagePlus. Since it is a Verizon MVNO any of the things that would affect an Evo on PagePlus would effect an Evo on Verizon. *228 may fix some of those issues automatically with Verizon where it wouldn't with PagePlus.
Wondering how you're getting Verizon to accept your Evo in their system, how you're flashing the data settings, and why you're not getting a Thunderbolt instead since it is basically a spiced-up Evo.
The deal fell through does anyone want to trade ur evolution for my nook color

I had a hd2, but I bought my friends tmo samsung galaxy s2. At the moment I can only access the internet through wifi, when I try to go online with just the phone with my plan it comes up.. your data plan does not support this device. Anyway I can get around that and still be able to use my 3g data with this phone or do I have to actually update my plan to 4g for this phone in order to get data again?
Have you tried going into advanced settings and turning off 4g? The settings would be accessible from the phone dial pad with a particular code.... Something like *#0011# I can't remember the exact code but if you poke around for it I'm sure it's been posted before.

edit. Just thought about it for another second... You would probably have to tell the phone to use edge only. Not sure it would work, but I am sure it would suck. I would look for it in the settings, but if my girl woke up and I was rummaging through her phone I might look like a creep.
Hmm you must be on the old grandfather data plan. TMobile blocks any of their 4g devices from utilizing it. If you want to continue using your old data plan you would need the telus version i think. I know this is true with the sensation and amaze, possibly other phones too...basically any non TMobile branded phone.

In the united states, last I've read, is that they just fine you a hefty fine. And I think getting banned from whichever carrier you were using. It's not like you go to jail. Unless something gas changed.

I would try the different apn people use to get around throttling; in the Hd2 days, data was 3 different packages: smartphone (windows devices), G1 (which would eventually become Android), and BlackBerry; if you mismatched them, your data would be touch and go at best.
Back then it was an easy fix; to do so now, you'd have to have them change your plan to the new ones WHICH WILL EXTEND YOUR CONTRACT LENGTH but will not affect your upgrade eligibility.
The hd2 is still such an amazing phone.
Im sure some one else is running this on our phone.I flashed it and has given me pretty good batery life. jb stock roms we have are great but I had to try this.apn was a bit difficult to set after that all good
Ummm...... what?

So just curious u were able to flash a Verizon rom on your tmobile s3. Didn't have to change anything besides the apn?

That's what it appears he is saying.

Wouldn't be too surprising really. Aside from slightly different radios, aren't all the US variants (canadian too) virtually identical hardware-wise? It would stand to reason that they would carry the same partition layouts as well.
Though I wouldn't go flashing away without verification of that!

My thoughts at least, I flashed a few at&t roms with no issues besides build.prop stuff. I'm with you on not flashing things though lol.

Yes the baseband stayd the same .I was pretty excited been using it for a week.battery life is good screen is on top of the list then system.so far beside using hiapn for apn settings it has been really stable one or two reeboots that I can remember from restoring youtube a delete and market install fixed that.
How did you bypass the verizon network verification?or did it not say registering on the verizon network? I have flashed many Att, Sprint, and verizon roms, but most(if not all) of the verizon roms have a built in verifyer for their specific network.
I just started rooting and flashing and all that and finally found my msl because I was told you need that to edit your data profile. Now before I experiment with putting my phone on a straight talk plan, does anyone know if this is actually possible and if so does anyone know step for step how to do it? I've been looking for a few months how to do it but never found anything that sounded like it would guarantee anything without having a sim card. So it's either straight talk or an 800$ bill to pay with sprint. So any pointers would be really appreciated.

Um im pretty sure straight talk is gsm only.....
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yes its possible.. ST will actually walk you through what needs to be changed and edited to get it working on ST if i were you id do it with a verizon GNex for better service
Alright cool, thanks.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Also, do I only need to buy the service card or do I have to get a phone too?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
OK i don't why your listening to this guy... You cannot use a sprint nexus or a Verizon nexus on straight talk since they are CDMA phones..... straight talk uses T-Mobiles and ATTs network.. You will need a new phone

Straight talk does operate as both a CDMA and GSM MVNO. That being said, the average consumer is indeed going to be limited to their GSM offering.
It is possible to get on straight talk but it will not be an easy task. You will need a donor straight talk smart phone to flash over to the galaxy nexus.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
So really it will just be a matter of changing all the id's like my ssid msid and all that to match up with the straight talk phone right? Because I've been under the impression that all you have to do is have your msl and edit your data profile to match the phone that has the service you're trying to get. I've just never heard of it being done with a sprint phone.... This idea sounds almost nightmarish all the sudden

I have flashed several sprint phones to virgin mobile. Its no easy task and requires software that's not easy to come by but it is possible. Check out a thread by autoprime on the subject.

Exactly what he said has to be flashed and basically you need a cheap ST smartphone to sacrifice
