Vibrant 4G Battery

So apparently the Vibrant 4G will have a 1650mah battery

If it does will you be getting one for your Vibrant? (assuming it fits)

If I wanted to upgrade my battery (which I already have), I would get something actually significant (like 3000 MAH), instead of a 150 MAH increase.

you will see that extended batteries don't live up to their rated capacity. I think a real extra 150mah would make a fairly decent difference in life.

I'm getting one. My original 1500mah is 6 months old now with daily or more charging. This will be good.

I have an extended battery (3000 MAH) and it has significantly improved my battery life.

I tend to think that the Samsung original batteries perform better, and my reading on the topic seems to bear this out. As such, I'd be interested in such a battery, if it would fit my Vibrant. The small upgrade in power on paper would probably translate into better life than the small bump indicates. My Samsung battery lasts pretty long.

With normal use, I get about 1% drain an hour.
The battery doesn't even make the phone that big, and I happen to love its size. The vibrant feels far too thin for my large hands, and the 'brick' makes it fit perfectly (especially while in landscape).

Why not just buy an extended battery off Ebay for like $10 and try one out yourself? Based off personal experience, and the reviews from the Extended Battery Review thread, you will see just about everyone has much better battery life with the bigger batteries.
I really doubt you will get much more battery life with an increase of 150 MAH.

I'm sitting here, 3:13 am, and my phone's been unplugged(And decently used for my habits) for almost 20 hours. I've got.. 28% left. The size is actually decent, and just a tad more heavy. For 14$ you really can't go wrong here.

i wouldn't update.

Good Place For Batteries

Just wondering if anyone has found 3rd party batteries for the atrix yet?

I'm curious about this as well. I missed having options for battery when I switched to iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 (like with Treo and BlackBerry). As a mobile addict, I miss extended batteries (even though larger). I hope to have these choices for Atrix and hope the switch to Android doesn't serious piss me off.

Welcome, it may take a bit, bit I think you will be glad you switched.
Also, I am sure third party batteries will show up after a few weekes particularly if the phone is popular.

I'm sure Seidio will have a bunch of accessories out shortly.

I truly wouldn't mind one of the extended battery Juice Pack cases like I had for my iPhone. They added some bulk, but they nearly doubled my battery life on my iPhone, and they are simple to take off plus you don't have to pull out your phone's battery to do it.

You need something bigger than a 1930mAh battery?

With 1930mAh battery installed + laptop dock for 8 more hours running ability, I don't think I need an extra battery more.

I used it very heavily at work. Maybe got like 6hrs out of the oem battery.
Which is the best I have had in all the smart phones Ive used

LOL the battery is large but the way I use my phones I don't know if it will last all day; I looked on eBay a few minutes ago and didn't really see anything.
I have the standard and went and bought two extra batteries for the phone for the days I was out and didbt have access to a charger.

jfyi the droid x BH6x battery is the same battery as ours so you can search for droid X bh6x battery. just make sure that its the slim model as in if its comes with a battery door the its too fat for our phone

Guys dont forget to give your phone a week to get propperly calibrated

Keep dreaming - mophie (manufacturer of the Juice Pack) steadfastly refuses to offer products for non i- whatevers. I've talked to them about it previously. Only way it'll happen is if Motorola or some other company makes one, and that hasn't happened.

your right i did not think of this. Most people overlook this fact,

I got spoiled by multiple gen-you-whine Motorola batteries for my StarTac. Between the main battery, the AAA tray to replace that, and the piggyback battery...who needed AC?
But I've also found an AWFUL LOT of battery suppliers are junk. Some mislabeled with bogus capacity, some that just don't hold a charge well, some that knock wood I never got, that catch fire.
I don't like gen-you-whine battery prices, especially for a new phone, but I'd be real careful about buying from other vendors right now. Or are there some other vendors you have found that can trust, by brand name?
Supposedly...with standard microUSB power plugs, we are supposed to just use a "powerpack" to recharge the phones on the fly. There's something to be said for doing it that way too, I guess.

My battery states 1880 mAH on the back of it...i thought it should be 1930 mAh

1880...1930...Could be a change in production with one manufacturer being slightly better or a slight change in the process. If you think of them both as "1905+-25mA" it really is just a small difference in battery life.
Maybe that's why some of the 1880's are being sold off cheap, they've been obsoleted?

where can i find them cheap ??

There are loads of batteries out there. Just search for BH6X or BH-6X. Some sellers say they are for Atrix, others for Droid X. I believe its the same battery as the extended droid (I hope!). I just bought one from a US based seller for $21 on EBAY.

FWIW I pulled mine out, it is 1880mA. And that's a phone that shipped last week.

Normal Size Extended Battery Thunderbolt

So i found this NORMAL sized extended battery on ebay. It has 1700mah opposed to the 1400 mah the factory one has. I have the verizon extended battery and it works great but, IT IS HUGE and there are no decent cases. So for $15 bucks i gave it a shot. When i get it ill let you know if the 300mah makes a difference.

If I am not mistaken...there are threads on this battery and some people didn't find that much of a difference....but each phone is different..
I have the extended battery.....I have a silicone skin that I cut to fit the extended batter cover and then I bought a holster for it...works AWESOME

I didn't see a thread for this specific battery. I cut the case also, and it falls off every time i put it in my pocket drives me crazy lol. Something has to give a 2in thick phone doesn't do it for me. Plus that battery is heavy. So lets see how this cheap battery does

There's a thread somewhere about an independent test from "battery man" or something of the like.
He's stated that these batteries are often rated higher than whey they actually are, like 1700 actually being a 14 something. I'll see if I can find it. It was an interesting read.

It's not a 1700 mAh battery. It's a battery with a 1700 mAh sticker on it. With all the complaints about battery life, and the rumors that the TB was delayed while they worked to improve it, HTC would have gone with a higher capacity battery if one were available in a suitable size.
I got a couple of "1500 mAh" batteries and a charger from Hong Kong for $9 from ebay. They seem to work about the same as the OEM, enough to get me through a day (no 4G here, yet).

Some others had purchased these. If you run Battery Monitor Widget, it tells you how many mAh your battery is, it reports the correct 2750 for my extended, but on these 1700's it reported 1350.

I just need to come out and say it. A battery is a battery, you can't get a huge amount more of mah out of a battery that is the same size. There is no amazing battery that can hold 30% more energy and be the same size. You can increase capacity by taking out circuits, thinning the wall, and optimizing space in the battery but you can't make it tons higher. These batteries promoting themselves and so much more charge in the same package are a scam.

I've been posting on threads on these "1700mAh" batteries because I dislike the company that makes these ads. Its false advertising.
The story is that the seller already had "1500mAh" batteries on Amazon for the MyTouch 4G. Then when the TB came out he listed them on Amazon for the TB advertising them as 1500mAh. A week later he raised the price from $35ish to $50ish for 2 batteries and changed the title to state that its a 1700mAh battery.
For a short period of time people purchased this "1700mAh" battery for the TB. When they received it the sticker still stated 1500mAh. Then later people started getting the batteries with the stickers saying "1700mAh"
Summary: False advertising. Do not buy. Exactly the same as the $3-5 eBay batteries, so SAVE YOUR MONEY

No one is being negative. They're just trying to let you know that you're getting scammed. Even if it was actually 1700 mah you'd get what, a extra hour out of it?

i have this battery and i got to say ain't worth it unless you want an extra battery just like the one that comes with the tbolt...

There's a setting where you can change the capacity. My stock battery read 1350 also.
With that said, I bought these 1700 mah batteries and they are worse than stock. I guess it's a decent price for two extra batteries and a charger, but they suck. They dont extend anything.

i have tried this battery, it is the same, if not worse then the OEM battery.

I bought two of these 1700 mah batteries with a charger a few days ago. I only paid about $26 after shipping so we'll see how well they do. I'm not expecting miracles, I just need one to leave at the office and one for home. If my battery dies, I can still use my phone.

you would probably be better off just flashing a kernel/rom that isn't all bloated and is more energy efficient. Ever since flashing the perfect storm rom my battery life was better. Flashed CM7 when the prealpha came out and its even better.

I'm on the Twisted Sense rom with the bamf_4.3b kernel. I have no complaints with the rom or kernel. My battery drain comes from me never putting the phone down.

My extended batteries came in yesterday. I charged them and carried one today. My phone had drained by about 2:00 pm so I popped in one of my new ones. It's 8:30 and I'm at 69%. I wont say that I'm getting fantastic battery life, but it's fair. I did use navigation and I browsed the web a bit. After around 5 pm, I was on wifi so I'm sure that helped. For $26, I don't think I made a bad deal.

HTC Evo 3D Battery work in Thunderbolt?

The HTC Evo 3D comes out later this month with a stock HTC 1720 mAh battery, if that will work in the Thunderbolt than I want one! (I prefer OEM batteries and not having to make the phone fatter is preferred)

Why not just buy a 1700 mAh battery now..? HTC Express has them

It's not REALLY 100 mAh.

After some investigating it does not look like it will fit ;(

You can tell by looking at it that it's not going to fit. It's square, and looks to be thicker than ours. Also has some plastic different where it actually locks into the phone.

Siedio makes a 1600ma battery that's slim and on ebay there are 1800's that are slim... but who knows the quality of the ebay ones.

I've got one of the seidio 1600's, and while I can't say it lasts any LONGER than the factory battery, I can say it doesn't last any less than the factory battery.

That is the problem with the thunderbolt, the slim battery doesn't offer much of a power boost over the stock battery. You have sacrifice the form factor for a fat battery. I have tried a knock off battery from eBay and it doesn't longer than stock. I purchased the larger VZW extended battery.

Just got them the other day.. They last a lot longer than the stock battery on CM7 so I'm going to assume they're at least more mAh than the stock

From what I remember, you can't get more power into a smaller package with Li batteries. The reason is because the cell size is standard. There's no cell that's smaller that can store more power.
So to produce a Li battery that had more storage, you have to add more cells. More cells = larger battery. Looks that those so called "slim" batteries are just the standard battery marketed as having more capacity, when they really don't.

maybe you had a defective battery or less effective... no 2 phones are the same i doubt every battery is perfect..... and maybe its all in your head or your stock battery wasnt calibrated correctly. lots of options

Idk man, calibrated the stock battery every time I flashed a new rom, in recovery and with the app.. and it's not in my head because two days ago on CM7 I had four hours of screen on time (don't judge.. sometimes a 30 min Mario 64 break turns into a few hours..) and 15 hours total which I never saw with stock.. D: Maybe my original battery was defective but I always had better battery life than those who claim only 6-8 hours

Seidio battery
Seidio batteries DO cram more power in the same space. They dont use standard cell sizes and they use less protective shelling around the battery to squeeze in a slightly largers cell size. I remember my old Verizon VX6700 battery from them being a "soft" pack battery... no hard plastic shell like the standard OEM batt.

My opinion about a 4000 mAh mugen battery

Hello guys, I would like to tell you my opinion about a battery that I had the chance to try. I'm talking about a battery produced by Mugen for Samsung Galaxy Nexus, with a capacity of 4000 mAh (more than double of normal rate).
Usually I'm used to use the smartphone with many apps in the background (WhatsApp, Dropbox, Beautiful widget and many other) and i often run games, especially in down time of the day. Im also linked to a carrier that has only 3G. Before attempting the battery I used to utilize three batteries so i can change eachother when the current one is downloaded.
With the Mugen's 4000 mAh battery i have found no problems to arrive safely at the end of the day, even when I spend hours playing.
In addition, the cover included in the package greatly improves the grip (im serius!).
I've tried it for 5-6 days but if you want to get more details, statistics and screenshots you can view this video review (in Italian)

Does this battery maintain NFC ability? I've seen some extended batteries that don't and some that do.

bah...i just did the same thing, though i still dont have either the battery or the phone yet. i'll report back when i get both.

I have used the Seidio extended batteries since my Dinc days and I love them. The 3800 monster for gnex does have nfc and it'll last for days with my SlimICS rom.highly recommended. The casing leaves a lot to be desired but its totally worth it for me for battery life.

sometimes you get better than what you pay for . I recall getting a cheap 1800mah battery for my i9000 and it definitely lasted longer than the OEM one.

The Mugen Power 4000 Mah supports NFC. A larger backcover is included.
The back cover has a kick-stand, this is great for watching video's.
The only disadvantage with the new backcover is that you cannot change backcovers too often. This is due to the vurnable "holding pins"
I have my 4000 Mah for about a month now, and it is awesome! The battery lasts 2,5 day's with heavy usage. Now I just have to find a way to cut out the back of my cardock in a proper way to fit the larger backcover.

Sorry for late reply! The battery is NFC compatible, i've tested it with another phone and it works!
It can totally replace the original battery
