Funny stuff. These are the speeds I get with t-mobile on HSPA+ in and around Chicago. Oh well, it's better than the 56k speeds I was getting on Sprint earlier this year. Glad to see their working on things.
Hell, this wasn't even in Chicago though but out in Joliet/Shorewood.
My HSPA+ is now officially faster than both at&t and Sprint lte in Chicago. That is based off of my brothers lte on his one x. He was barely getting 5mbps on at&t lte.

Those are more in line with what I would expect from LTE. SPRINT or Verizon? If that's Sprint, that's great. If Verizon...well that's what I would expect from them.

Yeah. If I start using more than 5gb I might switch to the unlimited but I doubt I will. I usually use like 3 on average. I used to only use around 1 and a half but I moved all my music to the cloud and stream now. That about doubled my data usage.

So, of all of you who have received there coveted Galaxy Nexus on the 20th like i, when switching the network mode to LTE/CDMA, is there ANYONE?! who has LTE Coverage and was able to produce a speed test?
Cause there is currently no LTE service in my area (Falls Church, VA).
I won't even bother for a while I live in San Jose CA. reports say San Francisco should have it soon and I work up there. I'll try soon up there.
Well it'd be a long shot and spotty at best. Sprint hasn't officially launched a single LTE market afaik.
I got my nexus on Sunday and the employees at the sprint store told me that they were told that sprint is scheduled to flip the switch for lte network on April 30. By the way I live in San Antonio tx.

Ya, Sprint hasn't launched any LTE networks yet. The date is still up in the air right now. Expect it by summer though.

Check for updates on LTE rollout in your area - great site with many XDA peeps
If it isn't up by May 9 I am making a trip to Austin and Sprint LTE test area is Waco so I will stop in Waco and try to connect to LTE and give some speed numbers.
Hell for all we know Sprint has blocked us from connecting to LTE even if it is out there until it's fully rolled out.

Using the speed test app, I got 15mb down and 10up.
Pretty damn amazing to me.

They only use half the spectrum of what Verizon has deployed so the downlink should be peaking at about 37mbps on Sprint's unloaded LTE. And since there is really no one on the network, you should be able to see those speeds if the network is properly configured.
Post some screenshots from speedtest.app.

4G on TMobile is the 3G network with enhanced back-haul. So Edge is the fallback for 3G.
Yup is more like 3.5 or 3g on steroids, really fast but when you on edge is more like sprints network sometimes (at least where I am)

Because T-Mobile thinks people are stupid and like to call their 3G network 4G. 4G is HSPA and HSPA+ combined to them.
Also it says "only seen while roaming" so they must not roam over 3G much.

I've spent time traveling around the Kansas City, KS metro area, and it seems most places are lit up now, especially in Olathe. Average speeds are a little disappointing considering these towers should have very little load. I've done approximately 350 speed tests so far.
I'm getting a consistant average of 10mbps down/up around the entire metro, with highs of 13mbps down/up and lows of 8mbps down/up during the day. Late at night speeds are 15mbps down/up around the metro for me. In my basement I only get about 6-7mbps down/up (with 0-1 bars) no matter the time of day.
The latency is outstanding! I've had pings as low as 42ms. The highest I have seen is 70ms, and the average is about 55ms. Great for remote desktop and video chat
I'll keep this updated with my findings. Highest test I have pulled so far has been 20 down/15 up.
Don't think so. Not here in Dallas yet.

Because they're broke, losing customers, and that's all they have to try to get people to stay. If they start improving and rolling out this LTE network widely and (gasp) maybe gain customers, they'll cut unlimited data just like AT&T and Verizon.

There's no money in that compared to running postpaid services. And they sell wholesale service to Ting already. Why would they turn themselves into a prepaid carrier? Think Sprint would go out of business before they did that.

I feel you. It's the same in Austin, no LTE.
Yet, somehow, ****ing Waco, Texas has LTE.

By default on Sprint phones the bars only indicate VOICE coverage. They have nothing to do with 3G EVDO or 4G LTE reception. I have aseen a few custom ROMs that split the bars into two for voice and data, but the regular software doesn't make this distinction.
There is a chance you could be connected to one tower for voice but evdo is down on it so you are using a different tower for data, and an even higher likelihood with LTE since most towers haven't been upgraded yet.
Top one is from this evening in New Braunfels. Nice.

Hey Santo, I have to agree. I live up in Marysville Washington and I used to only get 30-120kbps from 3g. Now I'm up to like 1mb. It could be the new phone radio technology to though
