Sry but for flashing sbf you didn't need to gain to step 4 (is unnecessary) . Sbf-s is need to flash strait with RDS lite and if you have bootloop then enter in recovery and wipe data/cache and dalvik.

Hey, My phone was working fine till yesterday. N when i tried to flash dk froyo .i had to change the kernel and i guess the bootscreen(htc logo) freezed because of that. I tried flashing hcdr and other kernels and even changed rom back to cm 7.But nothing seems to help.Only cwm is working on my phone. CAn someone help me please
btw its a wildfire
Your best bet Is to try run a ruu as that would reset the phone back to stock, bootloader and kernal, but depending on how you s-offed you may lose the ability to root.( untill you s-off again.) Good luck
sent from my steroid powered, cyanogenmod filled wrecking machine! using xda app.
Perform a full wipe (In CWM, Select "Data Wipe / Factory Reset", then, staying in CWM, go to Mounts and Storage, Select "Format /system". After this, flash a ROM (any) and check if it boots.
Tried. Its still not working. Can any1 post a nandroid backup file of any rom for wildfire. Please. I formatted my sd card too by mistake.
and while flashing a ruu. it always shows a error E:Failure at line 65 and something. Its different everytime
Connect your Wildfire to your PC, In CWM, Go to Mounts and Storage, and Select "Mount USB Storage". This will activate Mass Storage Mode and you can access your SDCard on your PC as normal. (I don't think anyone would upload a Nandroid backup of his own, it contains personal stuff like contacts and all. But, if someone does, good for you)
i mount usb storage n then do wat..? i tried flashing every rom possible. But its still not working. Is it the kernel's problem or what??
I am pretty certain performing a full wipe (Following options in CWM - 1: Data Wipe - Factory Reset, along with 2: Wipe Cache Partition, 3: Format /cache, 4: Format /system, 5: Format /data, 6: Wipe cache partition, 7: Wipe Dalvik Cache) in CWM and flashing a fresh ROM will fix your issue, UNLESS your phone is not bricked due to bad flash, but since you already claim that you have done that, I can't help you any further on this.
EDIT - Also one more thing - When you flash the kernel / ROM, do you get a confirmation message "Installation Complete"? What is your CWM version?
Yes i do.it says installation comple and its v3.0.0.6
Sense ROM's like DK will not work on CWM versions above 2.x.x.x. Anyway, since you tried CM7 already, One last suggestion in that case would be to try flashing the RUU via the bootloader.
Steps -
1: Download the RUU you want to install
2: Extract the rom.zip from the RUU. Procedure here
3: Once you have that rom.zip, Rename it to PC49IMG.zip
4: Transfer this to the root of your SDCard (i.e. - Not in any folders / sub-folders)
5: Restart device in HBoot Mode (Press Vol Down + Power simultaneously)
6: It will scan for the file, and ask to install. Follow On-Screen instructions.
Ill give it a try.
owe you big time man..Thanx a lot..

Depends on your experience! And the following points:
Is your device rooted?
Is your device s-off?
Data++ partition present?
nandroid-backup?
Backup your installed apps (Titanium-Backup)
Is the Rom on your sd-card?
When all this is done, you shouldn't need more than 20 Minutes for it (plus the time for personalizing your sceens)

Data ++ or Stock HBOOT for BCM; Every HBOOT except OxygenR2 and FatSys for Sandvold ICS!
I'm just going to assume you've never done anything with your phone.
Step 1. S-OFF (Look at my guide for help - video)
Step 2. Flash recovery (Again, look at my guide on how to do so)
Step 3. Boot into recovery (Poweroff, hold vol-down & power, then select recovery)
Step 4. Backup your current ROM
Step 5. Boot back into fastboot (poweroff, hold back&power)
Step 6. Flash the Data++ Hboot from Alpharev (Look at my guide for help on how to do so)
Step 7. Boot recovery, Do a full wipe (boot, system, data, cache, dalvic)
Step 8. Download either ICS For Desire, Bravo CM9 or AOKP. And put it on your sd-card
Step 9. Use the install from sd-card option to flash the .zip file you just downloaded.
Step 10. Reboot, once the phone boots, give it 10 minutes to settle. Reboot again (just for luck), wait another 5 mins and set it up.
ICS for Desire and CM9 both support full hardware acceleration that ICS requires. AOKP does not. ICS for Desire and CM9 however may be unstable and have a partially broken camera. AOKP is a lot more stable, but may give slightly worse performance.

Hi
I want to install a custom rom, however they say at the next custom rom: Install via recovery!
They mean the same here as how you would install the following custom rom:
So http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673489
through Backup and Restore and then choose Restore.
Or they mean that you have to look to the .zip file on your SD, so as the next method.
what they mean exactly with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786871
So in a nutshell what they mean exactly with: install via recovery!?
Thanks

Usually by recovery it is meant CWM recovery. As seen bellow, steps from 2 to 6.
Installation Instruction
This ROM works on Locked and Unlocked Bootloaders. Its a Flashable ROM.
0. Charge Phone 100% (optional)
1. Flash Kernel for ICS ROMS (e.x. arcknight)
2. Boot to CWM
3. Factory Reset
4. Mounts & Storage ---> Format System
5. Advanced ----> Wipe Battery Stats (optional)
6. Install Zip from sd card ----> Choose Zip from sd card ----> Xperia Ice Bean 4.X
7. Reboot, wait for booting, than reboot again (optional)
hi
i already unlock the bootloader, install custom recovery TWRP, and done a backup
i also copy my backup to PC
now i'm confuse
- i need to root the phone or can i just flash the new room?
- if i need to root the phone i found an italian guide on 4.0 and attach file, can i use that? i have 4.1.1 on mine now
i'm not interested to have HTC stock with root but what i want is to install MIUI ROM
this is the only guide i found in english that explains how to install the rom
external link (i can't post it) miuiandroid.com/community/threads/installing-the-htc-one-x-required-s-on-steps.16592/
what i understand is:
- boot my device power + menu down, to see the FASTBOOT USB i have to select FASTBOOT
- flash the boot.img
- press the power button once (HBOOT i guess), click volume down, highlight recovery & press power
- Flash the downloaded ROM via recovery normally and it followup at this link
external link (i can't post it) miuiandroid.com/community/threads/how-to-update-upgrade-miui.15424/
i need to copy the img rom in SD ROOT before starting with all this process
- now i need to Wipe data/factory reset, Cache Wipe & Dalvik Cache Wipe in all tutorial i found this is done with clockworkmod
in TWRP under menu WIPE i guess are System, Cache, Dalvik buttons
after that i'm note sure if i need to flash italian language, if i don't need and i can just download it later i tihink is not a big deal
unless is all in chinese
is the metod correct?
do i have to copy ROM file in .zip format as i download?
here where i found ROM
from official site grey button miui.com/download-7.html
OR
from UK web site miuiandroid.com/community/threads/3-4-28.20232/
the boot.img is here
point 3 miuiandroid.com/community/threads/installing-the-htc-one-x-required-s-on-steps.16592/
i'm not sure if would be better to use clockworkmod, since most tutorials use that..
thanks
Doesn't matter which recovery you use. Yes just place the zip file on your sd card. Flash boot.img as you already said. Perform a full wipe and then flash the Rom zip. Reboot and its done.
The Roms are pre-rooted so you dont need to worry about that. Italian language should be included i guess.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Heres what i do :
1) Put Rom.zip on SD card
2) Put boot.img in fastboot folder
3) fastboot erase cache
4) fastboot flash boot boot.img
5) fastboot erase cache
6) Reboot into recovery
7) Full wipe (except sd card)
8) Install rom
9) Enjoy new rom

i did my first mess but fortunally i could restore since i had copy the backup on my mac too
i don't know what went wrong but this is what happened:
- i did how was told before, but actually i download boot.img and rom from 2 different sites
- after reboot it didn't move from first screena waited for 15 minutes almost, so i did reboot in recovery tri to wipe but nothing happened
- so i decide to restore... but it did boot even if it was successful
- i thought that if i flashed the boot.img first time i may need to do it again, i found boot.emmc.win, rename it to boot.img, flash it and then i restored successfully
:victory:
now, to try a different rom i need to restore (maybe is safer)? can i copy the rom from recovery or fastboot?
what can it be wrong with my miui rom? could it be boot.img and rom file mismatch? can't find where to download both

i would try a different rom for now, viperx perhaps. and the boot image is in the rom zip, extract the boot img from the rom and put it in your fastboot folder then copy the rom to your sdcard. once you have done that, fastboot erase cache, flash the boot image, fastboot erase cache again, then back into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik just to be sure then use recovery to flash the rom and hey presto. all of the above is assuming you have the one x international tegra 3
I have htc one x european terga 3, as far as I know mini is only for tegra 3
what you describe is exactly what I did:
- I leave the rom zip ad it is, I didn't remove boot.imf that I extract, correct?
- when I flash I hit hoot fastboot, connect USB and fastboot change in fastboot USB, to go back I select Hboot and and hit power, prom there recovery
- I did unlock bootloader but did not get rooted my phone, could it be that?

read this post. at least twice!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904 do not do the "unlock bootloader" section as you already did that
@nogotaclue sorry i read so many, and some of them sayed that root was not necessary if you flash a new rom, other sayed it could still be necessary... now i rooted with the app and did a new backup that i'm coping on PC
reading further it says: to wipe, install rom, and flash boot.img after
"Now go back and press install. Go to the folder where the ROM you downloaded, is located in. Select the ROM and slide the screen to flash it. After it flashes, press the back button. Press Reboot and Reboot into bootloader. Open the ROM you downloaded from your computer. You should see boot.img. Extract it to your computer. Open my toolkit and press Flash a Kernel. Locate the boot.img and it will flash it."

The first place you should do is go HERE. That thread will answer most of your questions. Also if you are on the PC, in my Sig there is a general guide that you can follow on How to Flash a Rom.
EDIT:
It's been posted a bunch of times already. But here goes.
If you are not sure what some of these terms mean, !!! STOP !!! Use the search feature and do some reading to better familiarize yourself with the process, and terminology. A good place to start is HERE. Also THIS THREAD.
BEFORE YOU START COPY ALL YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE INFO AND EXTERNAL STORAGE INFO TO YOUR PC JIC
1.) download the MK3 Modem - verify MD5 checksum
2.) download MOAR Rom - Verify MD5 checksum
3.) Place both on your external SD Card ( not the phones Storage )
4.) Boot into Recovery
5.) Backup your current setup ( NANDROID BACKUP )
6.) Wipe Cahce - Wipe Dalvik - Flash MK3 Modem - reboot
7.) Let the Device fully boot - check to see that Data is working correctly - If it is move on to the next step - If it is not, Do not proceed
8.) Boot into Recovery
9.) Do a Full Wipe : System - Data - Dalvik Cache - Cache - Factory Reset - wipe Internal Storage
10.) Flash the Rom

That was my first thought....Recovery.....which one do you have......All the ones mentioned above will work, but it will also depend on which version you have. ( Unless that's changed in the last 2 weeks or so)
