Hi,
So 3 days ago I bought the galaxy 3 (new from a private store) and there's a really weird problem with the screen..
U can see in the picture I added the "C" like shape and the dot underneath it..I'm seeing it when I play games, use the camera and so on..It's there all the time but its visibility depends in what the screen is showing.
If u know how to fix it without me having to replace the device..your help will be most appreciated.
Guy's I just transferred the pic' to my computer and the "C" shape+ dot wasn't there (meaning that the problem is in the internal side of the screen)so I took my old SGS1 and shot the SGS3 screen
How can a new member upload a picture???

You know, I have some some shadows on my screen as well. They are only visible when I'm looking at the screen in low ambient light... So I notice it if I'm watching a movie at night in the dark, or, as you said, taking photos in a dark place.
The shadow looks just like if you push on a computer's LCD screen... I wonder if the Gorilla Glass covering is imperfect and pushing on the screen?
In my case it doesn't look like a pushing problem, it's way too symmetric and there's no "pushing waves", the color is not consistent with the "pushing effect"…
I don't think there's something I can do about it except replacing it…it's funny because I really have no clue what on earth could cause this…
Upload it to imgur then post link.
That's a know problem, rare though.
I have one little line on my phone only visible in the dark on a black background.
I think it's called ink spot or something like that.

That's not what I was talking about. That looks like screen burn. I'd swap it for a new one from Sprint. Don't let them give you a refurbished.

Dude I'm from Israel
I bought it from a private store and they told me that if there is no way to fix it they will give me a new one- not refurbished because I got the device like that.
I bought it 4 days ago…
THANK U FOR YOUR HELP!!!

I have two small yellow spots. Upper left and upper right. I have already rooted and installed custom rom and have been playing with my phone for a week now. I love this phone and am trying to live with it even though I know I shouldnt.
Anyone else in the same boat? Or did everyone that had this problem return there phone. I bought mine unlocked on amazon.
Has anyones spots disappeared? I was googling the pictures of the Iphones that had the same problem and they look Identical to what I have. Its not as bad as some peoples pictures I have seen though.
hmmmm.... what to do...

how long have you had your phone
spots can go away with use
1 - week.
Thats what I was hoping and the reason I havent returned it yet. You can press on them and they disappear. When you let go they come back. I was reading in a thread somewhere that someone had massaged them for a little bit each day for a week and they went away.
They also get brighter as the phone heats up.

as you see in the previous picture
in the upper part of the screen there is a less than 1 cm bar thick, which is much whiter than the rest of the screen and there is a smile face and clip icon on the right of that bar
its identical to whatsapp chat bar
the problem is that this bar is like a back light on the screen its showing in the screen where ever you are at and its so clear to see on a white or gray back grounds its even noticeable on CWM , its so annoying and defecting the beautiful screen of my note 2. :crying:
cant seem to understand how or why that happened
could it be that my screen is a defected unit ?? cuz my brother's note 2 is just fine
right now i dont know what to do i asked a mobile's repair shop for new screen and he said it will cost me 300$ (its half price of a new device)
here is more pix
*note : it may be no so clear to see on those pictures but in real its so clear and ugly

so the only solution is to replace the screen with new one right ???
and do u think that the one year guarantee that came with the device should cover this ??
thanks all for helping
i make up my mind
the screen is so annoying cant live with it and even the colors tune is less brighter than it was and more yellow-ish i started to hate the phone cuz of the screen
and the new screen will cost me 300$ and its too much its almost a price of a new mid range android device
i decided to sell it and buy HTC one but not so sure
i will think about it and do some researches on the HTC one and see if it is good enough
damn you samsung you always disappoint me with your super amoled problems
I've had my GS3 for about a year now and I'm seeing some unfortunate burn-in on the lower row of icons (the ones that don't move from screen-to-screen), and the main clock/weather widget, particularly when the screen is all white (as in bringing up a web page in my browser).
I was very surprised to see this, especially since I do NOT leave the screen on just at the home menu screen, my timeout is set to 1 min, but I'll hit the button to kill the screen most times.
I was under the impression that the newer screens, like on the GS3 and other phones were not supposed to even get burn-in like this? How many others are seeing this?
I've had burn in on mine for a while. The top status bar is burned in a little and a Reddit icon from the Reddit Is Fun app. Not too easy too see unless you go to a bright screen and look for it, but it's there. It's been like that for about 6 months and I got the phone last September.
Wife had the same issue, Sprint replaced the screen under insurance. Didn't have to ship it off or pay anything.

Crazy didn't even know that was still an issue with today's display tech. I have yet to see it happen on any of my Samsung phones.

Use my phone multiple hours a day for over a year and havent noticed any burn in
I've got a little bit of burn in. In the right light and a white background you can just make out Poweramp controls.

burn in is an issue with all amoled screens...
I got the s3 sph-l710
is there any app or any solution to minor burn in other than replacing the lcd?
I had it on my S2 but not on the S3.

Well what about this app called "burn in tool"? I'm reading good user reviews about it... Is it just a placebo effect?

I doubt it will hurt anything
My ROMs: Wicked X & Wicked S5 Xperience
I just picked up a 2013 Nexus 7 this weekend as an upgrade for my 2012 model. Seems like a solid upgrade so far but I'm bothered by one item and it's the yellowish gradient toward the bottom one or two inches of the screen. I need to tilt the device maybe 15 degrees away from me to get a more consistent color. If I rotate the device 90 degrees counter-clockwise (camera now on the left), I can still see the yellowish darkening on light screens on the right. My 2012 model has consistent color throughout. I found a number of posts regarding people complaining of about a warmer color to the 2013 screen but haven't seen anything describing the gradient I see. It's rather annoying when reading webpages or ebooks with a light background.
Anyone else see this on their Nexus? Did it improve with time?
I tried to take a couple of photos but my camera doesn't seem to be doing a good job of picking up the colors.
Common issue
I returned mine (because of it) and got a new one which had exactly the same thing.
I also checked out a friend's N7 and had the same thing.
So I guess it is a normal thing. It is hardly noticeable and only on white background.
(Most panels have some kind of uniformity issues. I checked an iPad 3 and had some other issues...)

Thanks for the feedback. This is actually driving me nuts and I'm going to take it back to see if I can get one with at least less of the effect. Mine seems to be worse than the display model in the store I saw today. If they can't give me something that's equivalent in color consistency to my 2012 Nexus 7 then I'll return it and just stick with that.
If I were you I wouldn't bother.
In the store there are other ambient factors that may trick you in believing the store's sample is batter. But it will not.
3 samples I checked are exactly the same...
My device have yellow tint to. How to fix? "Screen adjuster" and other not helped for me.

I don't believe that this is correctable with software. I ended up getting a different tablet altogether and even this 10" one has the same issue. Guessing these panels are all coming from the same manufacturer....
Hello I have received my third pixel c.
I had to RMA the forst two, because the on/off button was broken, and the second one becase the sensons wre not working as expècted.
The three devices had a thing in common, a terrible purple blur when srolling, for example white text over a black background. I've wrote in this forum and it semms thta are devices that do not have this issue. Now i'm not sure if there is any pixel c arround the world without this screen issue.
Attached two pictures from a médium quality screen (galaxy tab A, 200 €) and the pixel C (500€). The pictures has been taken from testufo.com/#test=stutter&demo=smooth&foreground=FFFFFF&background=000000&max=12&pps=1920, with an LG G3,
where the purple Blur is obvious.
Could anyone test the link provided above and tell me if you could see the white/gray line instead of a white/purple?
I dont know if i should RMA the third pixel C or this is something bad with this screen.

The pixel c I ordered about 3 weeks ago had the same problem with the screen. I RMAed it and the replacement has the problem too. I've requested a replacement for that one too. My Nexus 10 is fine. The rep I talked with (John?) said he had not dealt with any other customer besides me that had the problem and assured me that it was indeed a defect. I'm not convinced...
I'm using the stutters and tearing test (I believe that's the one you're using, right?) and while the bars do look purple while moving, screenshots show that they are in fact white.
So I tried that test and I do see a very slight purple tint, I recorded the screen with the 240fps slo-mo mode on my Nexus 6P and I see it there too.
It's so slight that I honestly don't care if it's actually a problem or not. Everything else about this screen impresses me enough.
Thanks for answering. I have talked again with google and they are going to send me another one. As i could not test the device in the first 15 days they are not going to give my money back. Again they answer me also that this issue was new for them and has never been reported by any customer.
Could anybody post an photo showing that a pixel c screen without this defect exists?
The is also a test i am doing and is the vsynctester dot com. The VSYNC letters should be grey and this screen shows them as light pink.
Regards

Because it's a screen related issue and not the gpu. You can only capture it, if you take a photo from the screen with another device

Makes sense, then I guess mine has it too but I never notice it in daily usage. I just assumed it was an optical illusion.
