This should work....
Try backing up all the stuff using the guide I posted....it takes an hour to backup and another hour to restore...
Enjoy!

Thanks! anyway,if I flash this radio, will it wipe my rom and data??
Sent from my Desire Z using xda app-developers app
Flashing a radio doesnt wipe your rom or data. You can always create a nandroid backup just in case, but it shouldn't change anything of your rom or data.

Ok thanks..have flashed the latest ota radio..what's the point of changing radio anyway? Other tha. Poor signal, anything else??
Sent from my Desire Z using xda app-developers app
Some roms require the new .19 radio to work propperly. The radio controlls cell radio, wifi and bluetooth, so changing radio sometimes solves problems with one of these.. I noticed much better cell signal and a longer battery life after flashing the .19 radio and matching rills.

Other than that,Nthing to do with speed of the rom right??

A bad radio choice can drain your battery and/or make your gsm comunications a pain in the ass.

the radio can depend on rom as well
i was using the most recent bell radio with cm7.2 and it was fine
however when i switched over to genY it had echos so i switched over to the .19 radio
and the echo is now gone.
Seriously? Issue(echo) did occur from rom to rom?

Hey guys, I'm new to Android, and I plan to root. I have a few questions. First of all, can I root on a Mac? I heard Heimdall works, but I'm not so sure. When I flash Roms, how does that work? Do they update? I plan on getting CM10, and what does the nightly stuff mean? Any suggestions on good Roms? I just need some help here guys, sorry if I sound really stupid. I came from an iPhone.

OK first of all you'll just have to try different roms out to see which one suites your needs and likes and search the forum for questions the search bar will answer all you questions. Me personally I used YouTube a lot to get info about ROMs and flashing and rooting how to's happy flashing FYI its very addicting and may cause relationship issues approach with caution!!!! Lol jk

The one thing I'm worried about is data when flashing. I heard you have to wipe your device to flash a new rom. Can you just back it up before the flash and then restore it after the rom is flashed?

Here is a small guide
This thread has great step by step advice that you should try first. If you do run into a problem, post another thread with some very specific details of what you did, what worked, and what is not working. This way people can address your specific problem sooner.
