[Q] Does anyone know o2's policy on ROMs? - HTC One X

I'm finally sending off my phone to fix the WiFi problem, and I was just wondering whether they'll still fix it with CM10 installed, or will I have to un-root it and go back to stock?

Like I said on Reddit, just RUU back to stock and you should be fine since it's a hardware issue

[Q] "Restoring" Warranty

Hey guys, it seems like the GPS on my device is broken.
It just won't fix, and on apps like GPS-Test there are no sattelites visible. I tried everything from Removing and Updating AGPS-Data, Turn AGPS off, Update Radios, Return to Stock 4.0.4 but it won't work, so I guess it's broken.
As I already mentioned I installed stock 4.0.4 but got one problem:
My Nexus was a YAKJUXW-Model but currently I'm using the YAKJU Version (4.0.4, IMM76I).
Do I need to return to YAKJUXW if I want to make use of the warranty (Does anyone have expierience with this)?
If so, where can I find a download of the YAKJUXW-Firmware? I remember doing a Nandroid before switching from stock to a Custom-ROM, but I deleted this Backup ages ago.

I'm currently running the version I downloaded from there. But where do I find a YAKJUXW-Image?
Or should I really try to give them my device which is running the Stock YAKJU-Image?

If you want the yakjuxw images, there is a thread in the dev section (started by josteink) that has a link.
Not sure if it matters if you return it with yakju or yakjuxw.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Okay, thank you for the answer.
Tomorrow if I have enough time, I'll go to the shop and give them my Nexus.

Here is the link by the way for the yakjuxw images.
Just a little Update:
I got my phone back today, and they said they replaced the W-LAN and GPS Module. GPS is working again
They also said they did an Update and Factory Reset, however it's still on ITL41F YAKJUXW.
Thank you for helping me!
Btw: They forgot to relock the device ;D

[Q] Warranty question

Hi
I have a question before sending my HTC back for the wifi repair to HTC.
If I make a nandroid backup of my existing custom rom, then unroot the phone, when I reroot the phone once i get it back, can I simply use the nandroid backup I had made to restore everything once I have re-rooted?
Thanks
Manny

Yep, ofcourse you can.
To be honest you need to re-lock your bootloader also.
And hopefully your lucky enough to be one of the people that gets a warranty fix even though your unlocked and rooted.
As many people get turned away.

Ok, thanks, its worth a try
I made a nandroid backup of my stock rom and also have the boot.img for the stock rom. I assume that if I flash these 2 first and then lock the bootloader? Is that correct?
if it is correct - is it simple to lock the bootloader?

Hi, yeah thats correct mate.
Easiest way is to flash the correct RUU for you phone. Im sorry but I don't know how to get the correct RUU perhaps someone else could help.
What I do know is that you can never fully "lock" the bootloader again, it will say "Re-Locked" and not "Locked" all you can do is hope they do not check the bootloader.
Hope this helps

If they check it and see it says relocked and then refuse to repair it is the same as me leaving it unlocked?? So i may as well leave it as it is?
Thanks

Definately, if they boot the phone and see CWM, TWRP, Titanium, SuperSU/SuperUSer they'll know straight away you are rooted.
Remove anything you possibly can that will identify a rooted unit.

Well they haven't even received it yet, since it was only sent on Thursday. I think they said it could take up to 7 working days

Using their repair tracking page, the current status is "in repair" so it's looking good. The status just changed an hour ago though so there's still plenty of time for them to call with bad news.

Warranty VOID?
I needed to send my phone in, but I don't have the sticker on the back, or the box, and there's no way for me to get to the settings on the phone, because the screen stopped working.
Will HTC still be able to service my phone, or is the warranty considered void?

HTC repair is bull**** just for the record. I have 4G Slides on the rest of my lines, ALL of which had to be sent in.
2 of those phones took nearly 45 [FORTY FIVE] days to get back to me. Apparently there was a hold for parts coming in from Taiwan. They wouldn't tell me which parts. They wouldn't even give me an estimate time. HTC didn't apologize or update me on my repair. I found all this out after numerous calls day after day.
But if you thought that was bad service, you'll love this...
The third phone was sent out and came back fairly quickly. Within a week. I was so happy to get my phone back.
Opened the box and GUESS WHAT?
HTC SENT ME THE WRONG PHONE
They sent me a completely different phone for a different carrier (HTC Evo 4G for Sprint). It was very beat up as well.
I swear, if it wasn't for their designs (which I love dearly) I would've dropped the company by now...
Sorry for the rant/threadjack. Thought you guys would like to hear a horror story. I'm done
does anyone know how to remove the super su app and the clockwork recovery? everything else is now back to stock as i did a nandroid back up immediately after rooting initially
thanks

GT-s7562i - Chinese version help

Hello
I bought this phone in China and was stupid enought to try the firmware update with odim using the version for a s7562. As you can imagine the phone did not work and I had to go back to the original firmware.
The problem is that none of the versions I found on internet works.
Well, they work more or less. The phone starts and can even receive calls. Even Kies is able to reconize and update the firmaware.
Problem is that the buttons dont work and the touch screen is erratic, making it impossible to effectively use the phone.
Is there any idea what the problem could be? Wrong version of firmware or something else? If the problem is the firmware, is there any chance that I can find the right one?
Thank you very much for your help and attention. See you!

Your best hope is this firmware:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=150781&uk=470142491
If it doesn't work then I am sorry the best way is to take it to samsung (chinese) center. One of my friend did the same mistake, and he flashed it with stock kernel and took to Samsung for repair.
did you try this firmware, what happened?
As I said we flashed the stock and sent it to Samsung. They fixed it under warranty.

Lost all call audio...

Hello all, I'm trying to sort out an issues on the lady's phone. For some time now I have had it running GPE 5.0.1, MK2 baseband, unsure of the bootloader as she's not here rightnow.
All of a sudden she lost all cellular call audio can here her she can't here me. Wifi Calling on hangouts works. I wiped and reflashed. Still not working. I searched a bit but causes seem to be all over the place anyone have.
Can anyone help me out on some things I can try to get it working again?
When you wiped and reflashed, did you restore any apps? If so, flash back to stock and see if you still have this problem

I read through it but there was no solution. I just updated the baseband to NH7 with no luck.
Should I update the bootloader as well? Its currently mk2. I flashed a stock nh7 ROM baseband is nh7. Is there a newer bootloader and radio? If so where can I find it to flash in Odin?
Your problem is most likely a hardware issue and flashing and reflashing may not resolve it.
I chatted with a Tmo manager at a local store near me and asked about troubleshooting on any Samsung phone and his reply was yes, they have software that can diagnose problems whether it be software or hardware.
I may be worth taking a trip by a Tmo store and let them check it out.

Yeah I just flashed NK2 in odin and still no audio in cell calls. Data calls like Hangouts work fine. This must be a sim slot issue of some sort
Please post back outcome if you find a fix or or confirmation of problem.

Return to stock

Hi folks,
I tried to trade in my note 4 at best buy and the girl recognized that it wasn't stock and wouldn't take it. Is the easiest way to return to stock from CM via odin and the stock firmware? Or do I have to relock somehow first?

Yeah I've done that a couple times. I used that stock restore file on hsbadr's thread, but I suppose if your turning it in it doesn't really matter which one.

Yeah I was looking for a couple posts where people were discussing it, but couldn't find it. If I remember right the fix is just flashing Oscar kernel but it's been I while since I've done it. I could be wrong.
