* worked fine until some day---- soft bricked!!\
* tried following the unbricking guide but keep getting wrong cid error in Hboot when trying to load RUU
the thing is that i have no idea what is my CID... since the phone is bricked i can't use any of the guides I found
to find CID.
in HBOOT I see following detailes:
****Locked*****
PRIMOU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.18.0000
RADIO-3831.18.00.282
eMMc-boot
plz HELP
p.s.
if my qustion is irrelevent and someone can tell me what RUU I should download it will be :good: also
Since you can go to hboot, that is good enough to check your CID.
Be in fastboot mode and type this :
fastboot getvar cid
Example here, mine is HTC__044
Code:
C:\Users\ckpv5-A\Desktop\fastboot>fastboot getvar cid
cid: HTC__044
finished. total time: 0.001s
C:\Users\ckpv5-A\Desktop\fastboot>
Please Help to get CID of my HTC Panache Phone

Hello ckpv5,
I have the same problem (My HTC Panache stuck on HTC Logo. When I Press
On + Volume Down, I go to HBoot). Please describe more what I should do?
I connect my HTC Panache (while it is on HBoot) to USB port of my computer,
but from Windows 7 Command Prompt I cannot go to (fastboot) directory. Why?
Do I need to install any software on my computer to do that?
Please help to get CID of my phone.
Thanks.

You are on wrong forum man, this is for One V.
Anyway.. why do you need to know your HTC Panache CID ? There are only two of them either Videotron or Mobilicity. Which is yours ?
Have you try the Factory Reset ? When you are on HBOOT, you should see FACTORY RESET menu I guess.
If you want to check your CID, firstly you must have the HTC USB driver installed on your PC and also fastboot files on your PC too. Without these two items, you can't do the fastboot getvar cid

Thanks ckpv5 for your respond.
My phone is HTC Panache from Mobilicity which I think is the same as MyTouch 4G of Videotron.
Its model under battery is written: PD15100.
Factory Reset does not do any action (phone hangs at the same menu and cannot do anything after that).
I need CID to make a Gold Card and install new stock android on my phone
by using MicroSD. I have tried different Stock android versions
of Panache & MyTouch 4G , but I always get wrong CID message.
I believe that I have installed HTS USB drivers (included in HTC Sync sowftware) for my HTC.
Where can I get the fastboot files for HTC to install it on Windows?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Attached is the fastboot.zip
Extract it to C:/
Connect your device in fastboot mode
When you go to HBOOT
Press power once, you will be in fastboot
The open a command prompt
cd\
cd fastboot
fastboot getvar cid
or
fastboot oem readcid
Other than this I can't help more as I don't have that device and also this is in a wrong forum

I think it worked ckpv5. I got the following:
========================
C:\fastboot>fastboot getvar cid
cid: DAVE_001
finished. total time: 0.007s
========================
The other command (fastboot oem readcid) did not work:
========================
C:\>fastboot oem readcid
... INFO[ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY [ 0.016s]
finished. total time: 0.016s
========================
Is < DAVE_001> my CID?
Is it what I need to make a GooldCard?
I also run another command (may not be related at all):
C:\fastboot>fastboot devices
SH169RM00588 fastboot
Thank you.

Ya... DAVE_001 is your CID. If you ever need to run a RUU to revert your device to stock, you need RUU_Glacier_Gingerbread_S_DAVE_CA_2.09.1800.1_Radi o_12.55.60.25_26.09.04.26_M
And that is not the CID for making a GoldCard. You use a Goldcard tool to have the CID that will look something like this
1B534D303030303010B15A45800093F6
As this is not related to One V, anything further you need to know, send me PM.

hi everyone,
right now im on arhd and i need to go to stock, my ota http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606676 is middle east and i have the stock recovery.img (also need to relock bootloader)
now how do i flash back the stock rom?
please i need a step by step guide
thanks
Get the correct ruu.
Go to fastboot.
Flash stock recovery (although I don't think it's necessary, but flashing will just make it full proof)
Relock the bootloader via fastboot.(by fastboot oem lock )
Run the ruu on windows.
* Ensure you have the right ruu. See threads on how to find one.

What is your actual no. if it is not 401 ?
Can you go to fastboot mode and type fastboot getvar version-main and let us know what no. is written.
e.g:

C:\fastboot>fastboot getvar version-main

That's the latest. The update is for the lower version. But if there is any OTA update, you should be able to receive it after you revert to stock rom.
Good evening!
I'm new to this so ill try to be as specific as I can. about a month ago I've bought the One x from a private store here in Israel and i think it was from taiwan or something. anyways, a couple of days ago i started messing with it, rooting it and everything.
I unlocked the bootloader via the htcdev.com, did the whole CMD thing and everything and flashed the android revolution HD rom (thats the name?)
so it was great and everything but it wasnt as complete as the rom my phone came with (I guess its the stock rom) so i tried the RD MIUI rom and it was fine, but still not what i was looking for and so i realized i need to come back to the stock rom, simple and clean.
now after the whole unlocking and rooting and everything, how the hell do i get my stock rom back? i want to lock back my phone, unroot it and put the old rom back on it and im very new to this whole HTC rooting thing, since i was using the galaxy s 1 and 2 before the HTC.
I searched the forum and couldnt find a guide, every post here is just links but no TUT's, as if everyone already knows everything!
anyways, I would really appreciate anybody helping me!
my phone is the international version i guess, bought in israel shipped from some asian country but is unlocked to all carriers and everything, not an AT&T version or anything.
First thing, make sure what is your original software version.
If you're not sure, run this in fastboot mode
go to bootloader
type fastboot getvar version-main
tell us what no. it show
then will be the next step to get the correct RUU for your device

If you are talking about the Terminal Emulator app, I don't think it can read the version-main as the getprop command will read what is written in the build.prop
But I maybe wrong as I'm not really familiar with Terminal Emulator except some basic command.
So how do we flash this whole thing?

And the above files only for 1.29.707.11 software version, it won't work for others.

If you follow the step carefully, there is no phone power up needed. You need to run the RUU in fastboot, directly after step 3.
Put your device in bootloader mode. Press power and hold it, you wll see the three buttons blinks and the device will shutdown. Release the power button, hold the volume button, the device will boot to bootloader/fastboot mode. Connect to your PC and run RUU.

Ya.. I know, HTC's instructions always misleading, like when to unlock bootloader, it says to remove the battery...
Hey,
I have an One X, with the IceColdJelly-ROM - Android 4.1.
I got this devide 2 weeks ago and rooted it on the first day, a big mistake.
Because I have one of those devices with the screen flickering-bug.
After flashing the ROM, a lot of people told me, I should wait 2 weeks because the fix for the problem was integrated into the kernel of the rom.
But I still have the error and want to get it repaired.
So; how can I lock the bootloader again and unroot it?
Regards..
1. Relock the bootloader:
fastboot oem lock
2. Flash the RUU you downloaded before flashing a new ROM as you did the clever thing and made sure you had it before doing anything to your phone

www.htcruu.com
Install your stock RUU,
A RUU is basically a windows installer of stock firmware, it restores your phone to stock.
Don't know your RUU version?
Put phone in fastboot USB, use the following adb command:
fastboot getvar main-version
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Hey,
I have bootet into the bootloader and did the command you told me.
It says:
C:\ Android> fastboot getvar main-version
getvar:main-version FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 0.655s
Maybe you made a mistake, because - if I type: fastboot getvar version-main - instead of main-version; it says:
version-main: 2.17.207.2
Which ROM do I need now?
I'm from Germany, if that's necessary..

If you are rooted, than you have ,,super user" or "super su" app, enter app, and look around, you''ll find unroot (or something like that) press button, and i think that that's it, for bootloader you must use fastboot, tupe command i think that tha command is fastboot oem relock.
Also you can find nandroid backup for your cid.
Forgot, on what android version are you ? 4.1.1 or 4.2.2 ?
If you are on 4.1.1 use method with ruu.
And last i think you can't but someone else will tell you, in fastboot tupe fastboot getvar all, copy everything except imei and serial number, so someone can tell you what ruu can you use.
Hope i helped.
He doesn't need to unroot the custom rom because he can't update with that anyway. And root is no issue to update at all.
And dont relock !!! You can't restore a nand with a relocked bootloader

I'm sorry but that's all I need to do to get software updates for my phone??? Sorry.I'm.still a noob in this
You have to download android sdk bundle (google) and go the platform tools folder, open a command prompt in that folder. Hold shift and click the right mouse button and select : open command window here. Then put the phone in the bootloader and press fastboot once. You see if all is correct in red text : fastboot usb.
Then enter the command in the command window on the pc and tell us what comes out

CASE CLOSED !
Hi Guys, let me express my gratitude beforehand for all the help that you have provided gratuitously to so many users so far. I happen to find myself in a delicate situation with my newly acquired(last week) HTC One X, that after a few days of use prompted me to install an update. I foolishly accepted and started the installation. After it rebooted it found itself in a bootloop - starting, vibrating for a second, displaying the Quietly Brilliant logo and then restarting again. I then began browsing on the XDA forum and researching on this particular problem. I started with the common troubleshooting steps : tried entering the recovery menu (power+vol down) and selecting "Recovery" - that didn't do anything differently-, then i tried a factory reset, same thing, then i tried and installed the RUU that i think is for my device(i'll post the name below) that ended up with what i thought was a successful process but ended up in the same bootloop after the restart.
At that point i read further and decided to root/unlock my device so i can try and install a custom ROM. Unlocked my device using the unlock token provided by HTC and then installed the clockwork recovery tool. After that i tried installing a couple of custom roms like ARHD31 which seemed like it was going to work(got through the configuration settings but after the restart this time was stuck at a HTC ONE logo ). I later read that for this to work you need a newer HBoot(mine is 1.12.0000). I then tried flasing an older rom with ICS(Renovate) that did not work either. I am not ruling out that i may be botching up somewhere in the process though, that's why i am seeking your help.
The RUU that i tried for my device is:
RUU_Endeavor_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_Radi o_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe
My details for my device were as follows(also attached a picture):
****LOCKED**** (it now reads UNLOCKED or RELOCKED if i lock it to try the RUU)
ENDEAVORU XE SHIP S-OFF RL
CID-11111111 (I read that this is the SUPERCID but i did not change that, it was like that)

Sorry for the long read but I'm hoping that you guys can help me with this, i even took it to a "specialized" repair service but they just ended up by draining my battery(recharging with script now).
Oke i will give it a try
Download this firmware
http://arhd.onedroid.net/db_mirror/Firmware/HTC/HTC_One_X/401/3.14.401.31.zip
1: Rename the file to firmware.zip and copy it to the fastboot folder
2: put the phone in fastboot usb mode/bootloader
3: enter these commands
Fastboot oem RebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
(maybe needed a second time, watch the outcome of the flash on the pc)
4: reboot the bootloader and check if the bootloader changed from 1.12 to 1.39
After that we continue, or find another way to flash it back.

Hi Mr Hofs and thank you for taking the time to help me, when i run the commands i get the below:
Code:
c:\Fastboot>Fastboot oem RebootRUU
... FAILED (unknown status code)
finished. total time: 0.001s
c:\Fastboot>Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
sending 'zip' (12876 KB)... FAILED (unknown status code)
finished. total time: 0.054s
The "Fastboot devices" comand returns the SN of my device, however the "adb devices does not list anything". Also looking in device manager i can no longer see my device, could that have to do anything with it? should i reinstall the HTC drivers maybe?

no thats oke, in the bootloader you can only use fastboot commands. But try again but this time use :
Fastboot oem rebootRUU (watch the capitals)
it has worked this time! waiting at a HTC black screen now and after that i'll try the command to update the firmware.
LE: Should the phone take that long after the RebootRUU command? been sitting at the htc screen for 5 minutes now
Yes please
Edit :
Once its on 1.39 you keep the phone in the bootloader and execute this ruu.exe from the pc with admin rights (select with right mouse button and run as administrator)
http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe
Once the phone hits that screen with the HTC logo you do the firmware flash command !
I'm beginning to think that it's stuck as it has been sitting at the black HTC screen for 10 minutes now. Also the back of the phone is quite warm (near the camera). Could it represent a hardware problem maybe?
Refresh.....edited my post. You have to flash the firmware when the phone is on that screen !

Sorry one of those PICNIC moments on my part ran the command, it's doing it now. Will let you know how i get on shortly.
LE : Does it need to reboot itself automatically after the bar has filled? looking at a full bar currently.
No reboot it please
Fastboot reboot bootloader
Or hold the power button and the volume - button to enter the bootloader again
Did the flash on the pc say OKEY ?
I have rebooted, the H-boot now reads 1.39.0000 i think that's what we wanted, but the Radio also changed to 5.1204.162.29. I am waiting now for the RUU to finish downloading.
Okey, that's cool. Well to give some background info on the meanwhile.... The XE variant you have seems to be a HTC developers phone. Hard and sometimes unable to officially update via HTC ota. This is a way that might work. If the ruu does not work we can always install a custom rom.
I also don't know when the ruu is flashed successfully and the phone boots again if it will find any further updates to android 4.2.2 sense 5. But that's a thing we will address later
problem solved
You sir are a genius and a blessing that has managed to explain the steps so well and with patience that i managed to bring my phone back to life just when i was about to give up. I cannot express my gratitude for the help that you have provided, if you ever find yourself in Romania please contact me via my email(sent you one on gmail) and i will happily meet with you and have some drinks!!
As far as the updates go i will never install one on this phone again, as i have just noticed when i was setting it up that there was a red warning saying that this is a test device and it will send feedback automatically to HTC and i cannot turn off that feature. Does that mean that it might be limited in some regards if it's a developers phone (maybe hardware or does not have all the features)?
Again cannot thank you enough! problem solved by this awesome man.:highfive:
Ah awesome news. Well if you ever want to go up to sense 5 just let me know
Cheers ! And have fun with the hox

Softbrick - Similar Issue
While installing CM10.2, i had flashed cm10.2 and the gapps. however forgot to flash boot.img through fastboot.
Now, none of the systems around me are recognizing my phone nor he drivers are getting installed. Upon reboot screen gets stuck on CM boot logo. Unluckily not expecting any of this, i havn't made a backup as well. Please help. Thanks in advance.
