Truly Epic Rom issue, please help

I have just installed the Truly Epic REbirth 1.2 updated ROM on my brothers Samsung Epic 4g and he really wants the original MYFILES file explorer back on his phone, (to each their own choice) .... I have the myfiles.apk and myfiles odex file that someone uploaded .... HOW would I go about putting that back on his phone?
I tried to install the apk file and it didn't install.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Just move the files to the /system/app directory and they will appear in the app list automatically.

[Q] Apk from system/app ?

Can somebody tell me if i want to use applications in system/app folder of one phone in another , how can i do this?
For example i tried to copy the memo.apk (application) from samsung galaxy s2 to xperia play's system/app folder using root explorer. After rebooting i still could not find the memo applicaiton in my mobile. I also simply tried installing the memo .apk extracted from galaxy s2 in my xperia play but it could install.
Thanks.

[Q] Pushing apk from system dump into note?

Hi, anyone knows how to push apk app taken out from system into our note 2?
I found the lost screen recorder apk in one of the system dump.zip after extracting it, I tried moving it into system/app and changing permission and installing is still not successful!
Am I doing it wrong? How then will be the right way to do it? please advise? Thx in advance... Really love to have screen recorder function as advertised by samsung
Normally you would push to /system/app make sure permissions were correct and then reboot, you do not need to 'install' it.
but you might need an ODEX file as well as the APK
Reboot
Hi, ok so just place the apk plus it's odex files in system/app , change permission and reboot it will be install correctly?
Hi, I did just as you mentioned.. Reboot still screen recorder remains not install tried to install it then ... No luck still...
its highly likely that there are other files that the apk needs in order to work, can you upload the files you have?

change the .zip to .apk and push it via terminal to the system/app/ (adb push name.apk /system/app/) if you don't know how to push the apk then put it on the sdcard and in stall it with root explorer.
on stuff like this you should use the q&a section.
Hope it helps.

Modified/ Customized APKs for Samsung S III

Hi,
I would like to share some of the apks which i have modified (customised). The reason why I wanted to share was because I gained a lot from this site and was hoping to share whichever apks I have modified. I have been modifying Samsung S3 Jellybean 4.3 apks (individual apks) and would like to upload them just incase someone would like to try them too.
Device Name: GT-I9300
Android Version: 4.3
Build Number: JSS15J.I9300XWUGML4 (I9300DDUGMK1)
These are Deodexed APKs. In order to try these apks the phone must be rooted and one can just place these modified apks in the system/app folder. For this one must have a File browser like ES Explorer or Root Browser or some other file browser installed which will let one get access to the system/app folder where one has to put the customised (modified) apks.
NOTE: Remember to make a backup of your original apk files before replacing with these modified apks, just in case you would like to go back to your original apk files.
Also say one is replacing a SecCalender.apk from this thread to your system/app folder on your phone, than search for a SecCalender.apk and for a SecCalender.odex file. If one finds both these files in your system/app folder, first make a backup copy of both these files in case one has to restore these back sometime in the future. Also you can add the extension .bak to both these file ,ie. SecCalender.apk.bak and SecCalender.odex.bak and leave them in your system/app folder itself as a form of back. Now place the SecCalender.apk from this thread in your system/app folder using the any FIle Browser (ie ES Explorer or Root browser). Also once the file has been sucessfully copied to the system/app folder, change the permission of the file to rw-r-r. Next reboot your phone and wait till everything is up before you open the modified app. While replacing other apk files the same procedure applies.
Here are the following Modified Apps:
SecCalender.apk (15.1 MB)
SamsungCamera.apk (10.8 MB)
SMemo.apk (31.4 MB)
SecNoteMyFiles.apk (3.58 MB)
====================================================================================================================
In case you do like any of the modified apks please click the Thanks Meter, as this will help me know that somebody has liked my work and I can than upload more apks which I will be modifying.
