MMS not sending - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Today I noticed that I can't send any text messages. I can receive them fine but everything I send fails.
I upgraded to the new AT&T OTA lastnight. The version listed is 4.0.4-I747UCALH9.
Everything else works fine. The access point is correct and even reset just to make sure.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Edit: Sorry all, should have posted to General Section.

You are 100% correct, I can send while on a call. Weird.
Did you upgrade to the lastest OTA? LH9
For APN settings goto -> Settings -> More Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
Most likely you should have AT&T PTA

"service not activated on network" when i try to send mms!!!

iv been having this problem for like a week now and i cant figure it out!!
i can send and receive sms and i can receive mms but i cant send mms.... every time i try to send one it just fails after like 5 sec and says service not activated on network
i have a unlimited plan with 5gb of data on t-mobile and it was working when i got my nexus.....
i also tried the smsc thing and that didnt work....any ideas???
Are you using a themed SMS app? If so replace it with stock in system/app set permissions and reset.
Which ROM are you using?
Sounds like the APN isn't set correctly.
Make sure you have "mms" included in the "APN-Type", maybe that helps.

That was my thought as well.
im using the kang aokp rom and im using the ics messaging theme but not a different messaging app like chompsms or anything.... and i checked my apn settings and under apn type i have
default,supl,mms
so any other ideas?? it just started randomly...do you think it has something to do with me backing up and restoring all my apps and data in titanium??
As long as you didn't restore any system data, I don't think the backup/restore should have anything to do with it.
You may need to contact your carrier to verify your APN settings and/or make sure there isn't something on their end preventing you from sending MMS.
I'm almost certain it's the themed SMS app...I experienced the same problem.
ok ill flash a new rom right now and not install the ics theme and see what happens thank for the help you guys! i really really appreciate it
Do your settings look like this? If not, that should be your reference.

I have the same problem on tmobile... my apn values are identical to the ones posted here... I am running foxhound rom. It is a themed texting app and i love it. Is there a way to keep it and make it work?
Will someone help?

Strange... I am in Canada on the Rogers Network and I also use the FoxHound ROM with the themed MMS app and I have no issues sending MMS messages.
Is it possible that it may be somewhat carrier related for you? Have you called T-Mobile support?

1) Access your phone information menu (dial "*#*#4636#*#*"), select Phone Information.
2) Scroll down to the bit that shows "SMSC:", a blank, and two buttons.
3) Click the Refresh button (NOT THE UPDATE BUTTON!) to retrieve the current SMSC.
4) For T-Mobile US, it *should* be "07912160130300f4".

[AOKP] Receive MMS Fix

Search is down so I can't tell if this was posted to another thread, and I am new so I can't post directly in the "[ROM] AOKP(Jellybean 4.1.2)Task & Ktoonsez (11/12) (AT&T/Rogers)" thread..
A few of us were having issues receiving text pictures (MMS), even though we could send them. I was able to fix it for myself, the issue is the phone number isn't set for the phone:
- Go to Phone - settings
- Tap Additional settings
- Tap "My Phone Number"
- Set your phone number in the format +1-212-555-1212 (Country code, full phone number)
- Tap OK
- You should now be able to receive MMS.
Thanks

EDIT* It just says downloading forever. When I first changed it I was given an option to DL it, but now its stuck.
EDIT2* Turned-off auto-retrieve, now working.
What I did to fix this download issue (my phone number was already setup properly)
1. In the text client go into the settings and make sure all the boxes to auto retrieve texts are checked especially the retrieve while roaming.
2. In the apn's in the Wap.Cingular one delete default from apn type (make sure to save)
3. Under the Pta apn add hipri to the list in apn type.
4. Have friends send you mms text to test. You shouldn't be getting anymore text lost in the matrix.
Since I did this I've had no trouble getting mms.

Method in OP worked for me. Im on CM10 so guessing would work for all AOSP roms.
THANK YOU!!!! the op's method worked for me also
Just found this. I'm still having problems getting Mms even doing all of the above so I thought I'd update this thread with this link to this thread from a bell user

Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML Unable To Send or Recieve MMS

I haven't been able to find someone else having this specific issue. I have edited the APN settings as well as tried three different messaging apps. The stock messaging app force closes as soon as I attach a photo. YAATA gives back a generic message send failure notification. Hangouts sits at sending for a bit and eventually fails. I'm running the CM 12.1 October 30th nightly on T-Mobile. I'm going to attach screenshots of my APN settings below. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
T mobile as well.
Not sure if it will make a difference, but my "APN Type" is set to "default, mms, supl" instead of "default,supl.mms". Try changing that and do a reboot.

I have T-Mobile and don't recall having mms issues. Neighbor with iPhone 6 has issues sending/receiving mms messages when on Wi-Fi. Who is your carrier?
I have t mobile also. Dunno what other settings I can look at.

You have probably 3 items in APN settings and the first one is selected? Do you have any app that can interfere with the native app or some settings?

If you tap on the first APN setting that is selected, then scroll down to "APN protocol: " What is selected in that settings? IPv4 or IPv6 or IPv4/IPv6? Also how old is your sim card and which signal is available(3G, H or LTE) when you try to send/receive mms?
I was having mms issues on T-Mobile and I changed my APN to the same settings as my S6 edge and I haven't had issues since. For some reason, there are separate APNs for mms and calling/internet and I think that was my issue. I've been fine ever since.
You have to add some URL to mms in the APN settings. Google APN settings for T Mobile.

MMS won't work on Verizon Galaxy Note 4 using T-Mobile

I have a stock Verizon Note 4, baseband version N910VVRU2CPF3, & am using it on t-mobile. T-mobile customer support says my settings are correct, however, I can neither send nor receive MMS messages. Sending them just locks up, and received messages have a big "Download" button that does nothing. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this? Thanks!
What app are you using for MMS? I was using the Verizon messaging app and had issues on T-Mobile similar to what you are experiencing. I switched to goo GH le messenger and also tried textra. Both work fine on T-Mobile network. Good luck

You have to change the message service number. But with Verizon . They have locked the menus to get to it. The only way I have found it to root the phone.

DID you manually entered tmobiles APN info or did T-Mobile flash it for you when you switched over ? I have mine on Cricket and nothing worked (data or MMS ) until I manually added the APN info as far as the option being locked out that wasn't the case on my phone . the option was in settings/ more setting/ cellular data / access point names. It is found in the 3 dot menu top right hand corner . the actual APN info can be found by google searching apn geisha . hope that helps
