yesterday i've used the netflix app without any problems but after i got out of it and tried to get back into it few hours later it would not "start up" it gets stuck on a white screen for few minutes then after that it'll give me the force close message (ok/wait/report). went into the apps and did clear data/clear cache but that didn't help at all. after that i uninstalled it rebooted then re-installed it but still the same problem. went into recovery wiped dalvic/cache and did zip align but once again no change. i've never had issue w/ netflix up until yesterday
i'm running JBSourcery V2.2 w/ franco's #243 (it was a clean install)
Perhaps the service is down and its crashing because it cannot connect.
Just a thought.

This is happening to me too on a stock galaxy nexus. Reinstalling the app does nothing and it works fine on my iPad
I was having the same issue.
After reinstalling the ROM, checking after reinstalling every app I reinstalled with titanium backup, I found that the actual problem for me was having tasker set to be a device administrator.
Once I turned that off, Netflix fired up as expected.
I can break and fix it at will just toggling that.

as i replied on the other side i'm not using any task killers or a tasker, also under deviced admin only two things that are enabled are seekdroid and email (exchange)
I was wrong, it isn't device administrator, it's access in accessibility.
Maybe it isn't exclusive to tasker, but any app given that access.
EDIT:
It is NOT exclusive to tasker. I just gave widget solid the same access and Netflix stayed on the white screen. Once I disabled it, Netflix worked fine.

can't see nothing wrong in the accessibility, i think i might upgrade from JBSourcery V2.2 to JBSourcery V2.3 with a clean install and see what happens. all i can say it sucks because i don't feel like upgrading/setting up everything again

Light Flow Lite was the only thing that was enabled and when i disabled it netflix started to work. when i toggled it back on netflix quit working. it makes no sense that it's causing problems now and it worked in the past (untill yesterday). either way thanks for your help netflix it's back up and running.
hopefully this helps other people that are having problems with the netflix
I have no idea how you put 2 and 2 together to figure that out but you fixed mine! I'm on a Galaxy Nexus using LightFlow myself. I LOVE that app so I don't want to give it up. I called Netflix support and had my issue "escalated to a floor supervisor". Factory reset your phone, that's the only way to fix it. Nice...
You, on the other hand, are a genuis! Thanks for posting the fix!
Wow I really can't believe how this got solved but the accessibility issue was it exactly. Thank you

I didn't download anything. I noticed it on my way home. It initiated randomly. And it won't finish, or even stop. It isn't showing in the downloads either.

I found it in the downloads a couple hours after the problem started. I don't have a full solution, which sucks.

Might be it is sync ur gallery with fb photos. Uninstall app and reinstall.
I'm experiencing this exact problem, also initiated on its own. I uninstalled and reinstalled Facebook but that did not affect the perpetual downloading of this. Nor have several phone restarts, etc.

solution!!!
I don't know you already fix this problem or not.
I searched several site and finally got an answer for this problem.
Just connect WiFi and let it do whatever it want.
Before I found this, I tried several things;
1. restarted my phone
2. pulled out battery and put back
3. killed the process from task manager
4. removed FB account
5. removed FB app from my phone (actually, back to previous version) and update again
Non of these helped me ever!!!
Also, this problem is not device specific. (I realize it after googling it)
I mean various devices and locations had the same issue.
Anyway, good luck!!!

Thanks. Connecting it to wifi did allow it to finish the unending installation very quickly. That was annoying and I'd like to know why an update initiated on its own, seemingly from within the app and not through the Play store (I do not have any auto-updates allowed, especially for social media apps), and drained my battery while it looped an install process that was apparently constantly seeking a wifi signal to complete.
Thanks a lot!!

I started having this issue today on my Galaxy Tab 2. The only solution people found on different forums is ti turn on WiFi. It'll immediately start downloading and would get installed (Probably due to its size it does not want to be downloaded on 3G/4G). Although I don't feel very comfortable installing this, Does not feel very genuine to me.
Did any one else had this problem? or any issues after installing it?
I had to switch to Wifi about 3 or 4 times and then it finally downloaded. It tried to download all of last night and killed the battery. In the mean time my phone has switched to using Edge instead of 4g and no matter how many times I switch Airplane mode on/off or restart the phone I can't get my 4g back. Think it is just a local problem? I've got a S3 on T-mobile in Orange County, CA.

I held the notification until it said App info, then it took me to the download manager where I did a 'force stop' and then it went away.....then came back : /
but then I cleared the download manager data and it seemed to work.

3. Openn Download manager

Forced stop dl manager and clear data worked here. Odd.
Looks like it has something to do with Google Music app. When I force quit it, it stopped my music. When I kicked my music back on, it started trying to download it again.
It's the Download Manager

The app you're Force Stopping is Download Manager. Among other things, it handles the streams for music, video, etc. That's why it's affecting (and being affected by) apps like Play Music.
Same on my DNA. I did the force stop on the download manager as well. Facebook must just be screwing with our privacy again!
same thing just happened on my s3, i let it do whatever it was for a few but then decided to clear the data and force stop. Odd little thing no one seems to know what its doing.
Same issue on Motorola Admiral (rooted).
Clearing the data on the Download Manager got rid of it (didn't force stop).
Sorry for the lateness. But yea I did the same thing and it stopped for me. It's weird too cuz when I checked the download app, there was no source

I have always used grooveshark and it as worked perfectly. Today however, when trying to play a song it says "Unfortunately Grooveshark has Stopped," then it restarts the app. I have tested this while online or in offline mode, I also uninstalled the app and reinstalled it although it still gave me the error. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 I747 on AT&T running cm.10.1.1 nightly. After this happened I updated to cm-10.1.2 to see if it would fix the problem, but it didn't. I have searched everywhere, but I can't find someone with the same problem. I did not update my rom or change anything with the phone between when Grooveshark worked and then didn't work. Anyways, just wondering if anyone has a possible solution to this issue. I'd prefer not to have to switch roms or factory reset my phone. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Turns out that this happened due to active notifications, for some reason that app messes with grooceshark

Please can you explain how you resolved this issue as I am now having the exact same problem. Grooveshark was working fine now I can open the app but as soon as I try to play any song I get error message and app restarts.

I had previously made a nandroid backup of my phone and it was from before I installed active notifications. When I restored to it it fixed the problem. Although after that I took a backup and tried active notifications again and the same problem occurred. When I restored my backup the errors still keep coming. I have even unninstalled grooveshark and reinstalled it and they are still there. It's obviously a very weird problem. Due to this I have just switched to Google Play All Access.

If it's working now I would uninstall active notifications, it appears that that is causing it and in my case when the problem occurred again, it still occurred after I uninstalled active notifications. So it's a good idea to uninstall it to be safe.

I think I have sorted it now, turned apps on again one by one and kept checking and it seems to crash/restart when I turn on notification mirroring service within the pushbullet app. Turning this feature off again makes grooveshark work as normalagain. So if anyone else has problem with grooveshark try turning off notification mirroring service.

Ty, I've been hunting for a solution for some time now, and I didn't think of something like that.... It is true, when I disabled AdBlock Plus, I didn't see the error again.

wow thanks for this. It's been driving me insane. I removed Adblock Plus and it worked. So I installed AdAway and rebooted. Seems to still work fine also. So try that ad blocking app out. So far so good.
Solved ! ( apparently not related to AdBlockPlus)
To make a long story short, I don't have AdBlockPlus but i DO have DroidWall installed.
just forgot I had to allow "MediaServer" to access the internet (as well as YouTube of course) - problem solved.
This has been happening to me. I fixed it by going to manage apps. YouTube, Delete cache, delete data, uninstall updates and I clicked the turn off button. Ran cleanmaster app and removed junk files. Then I rebooted and turned youtube back on and now videos will play. I'm on the Galaxy S4 stock.
Hopefully this helps someone
By the way Facebook wouldn't play any videos it would say "can't play video" and now Facebook is playing the same videos that it couldn't before.

It's happening to me now too. But since mine's installed as a User App and not a System App, I can't just uninstall the updates, although I did try uninstalling it completely and reinstalling. No joy.
I've tried a dozen different things. You should know that lots of people post lots of "solutions", but for 95% of the users, none of them work.
I'm hurting especially bad, because it happens to me on both types of connections (4G & WiFi). I even tried a 3rd party YouTube app and that wouldn't work either.
All this since today's (or last night's?) v10.25.57 YouTube update!

Hi,
I tried disabling AdAway and reverting back to the original Hosts file, but no joy.
This time, it's affecting both my 4G & WiFi connections. When this happened before, I could at least watch it on 4G.
The weird thing is, that if I'm not signed in, I can watch videos. But once I sign in, EVEN WHEN USING A 3RD PARTY YOUTUBE APP, I have the problem!
Yes, eventually a YouTube update will come through that will fix it (could be 6 months or so), but I'm thinking that something "underneath" it all got updated/changed at the same time, because otherwise;
Why would it affect me only when I sign in?
And if it was limited to only the YouTube app being updated and there isn't anything else being changed at the same time in the background where you don't see it, then how could 3rd party YouTube apps be affected when you sign in to them with your Google (Gmail) account?
See what I mean? Something else, "under the hood" simply must be going on, amen?

I just updated Netflix from the market and now the videos won't stream. Keeps saying connection error. I've rebooted, wiped cache and even tried to reinstall the app, but when entering my login info, it says please check your date and time settings. I rolled back to a later version of Netflix I had backed up and when loading the screen will go black.
My Internet connection is good and my account is good because I can stream and watch Netflix on my Note 10.1. I can login to the netflix website as well. I was going to call them but I'm pretty sure they would just tell me to reboot, re install and that would be it.
Anyways, I'm wondering if anybody else is having issues with Netflix on their Note 3. Wondering if it has anything to do with root or something. I'm running MyRom1.1 as well
