I made a complete ROM backup for a new Alcatel 918(Without D/M/N) running 2.3.6. The backup was a success using SP Flash tool.
I intend to use this backup to resuscitate another phone of the same make and model.
I used scatter retriever and so I have a Alcatel 918 2.3.6 scatter.
The problem I have is that I have had no successing in downloading the preloader file...it fails on selection.
What might be the problem?
Does anyone have a working preloader of this version?
I will be grateful.
Thanks

Moral of the story, never flash other ROM, it will surely brick ur phone if its not meant for it...
@kippsoft
Even the great linerty still haven't figure out a way to decode PRELOADER, DSP_BL & SEC_RO...use google chrome for translation, its translation makes more sense compare to other...
With linerty's gscript ROM backup script, you can use it with SP Flash Tool for flashing full ROM except for the above file...the tut here describe on how to use it...
Typically, with linerty's MTK Rom Studio generated scatter.txt, you can just untick everything except android(system.img) & flash it...This will surely restore it...
However, in another word, if the phone you plan to resuscitate is overwritten & that includes the above 3 files like baditaflorin here then there is very slim chances it can be brought back to life unless you have a complete ROM from Alcatel or you could just send it back to Alcatel Service Center...
i have known a few fellow xda member that ask from its local service center(for other brand) when they brick their phone & confirm indeed even these service center is also using SP Flash Tool to flash complete ROM to un-brick it & they manage to get a copy of it...
So may be you can try your luck & see if you can obtain it... :fingers-crossed:

Hello kippsoft,
I have the same phone as you (ot918 without D/M/N) running 2.3.6. I need a backup to restore my phone.
Did you resuscitate the phone with success ?
If yes, could you explain how to do ?
Thanks a lot for your answer...

So please can any one bring me a four files rom which contains PDA , MODEM , CSC and a fourth one which I don't remember because I've never used it
It seems you have the last secure bootloader that doesn't accept older firmwares.
You can only flash MK4 firmware on it with odin.
Flash this firmware with Odin.
You have the new bootloader.
Good luck.
@naroku is this four file rom cause people told me that the problem will be fixed by four files rom not one

The difference between four-file rom and one-file rom is the way to flash it with Odin.
With four-file ROM, all images is in one .tar.md5 file (boot.img, system.img, and others), and you have to flash only this in PDA on Odin.
With one-file, you'll need to download all files separately and flash it separately on Odin (one .tar.md5 or .zip for each partition), choosing one by one.
The ROMs hosted on SamMobile.com or Samsung-Updates.com is the four-files ROM in only one .tar.md5 with all partitions included. I suppose this is the easier way to flash any ROM.
Try to do a factory reset in recevery then flash the same firmware twice, sometimes my phone/computer does not change the baseband the first time I flash a firmware.

Do you have EFS backup?
It is the factory mode in the second image which comes after building generic EFS.
You have to restore the EFS backup if you have.
Otherwise use someone else S4 mini i9192 EFS backup.
But that will be illegal because you both will have same IMEI.
No I don't have an EFS backup is there any other solution
or will it be solved if I flash 4 file rom

No it will not affect IMEI. It may lost if you do not use proper files to flash it. There are methods to have backup of IMEI. Search for proper method, I think mtkdroid tool does that with PC and mobileuncle tool without PC. Google is there to help you.
Best of Luck.

can anyone help me step by step how to flash a CWM Recovery on my xolo QC 800 Tab .. want to change its ROM to latest one.
Will it work if my phone is virus infected
Hello Bro,
I want to install the original OS on my XOLO Q1010i. Because my mobile is infected by some adware & malware. It contentiously shows ads and installs different application without any permission. I m fed up of this, to get rid of the virus, I did factory reset for 2 times and Hard reset the phone once. But its not working, that virus downloads and installs files on my phone whenever I use internet.
So, this procedure that u have mentioned here, will it work in this case. I want to install new original system.
Thank you, Bro.
Please Please. Reply.. Help me

U have to restore the EFS backup with the same tool u used to create.
Try Agni Kernel and flash one of the modem files.
If not, try this link: repair via kies.

Search the Agni kernel thread to know the exact procedure to flash the kernel.
Modem file should be of ur country.
1. You can flash it with Mobile Odin. Drop your firmware on SD card and only flash the modem ( of course after flashing Agni)
2. Extract the modem img from your firmware and flash it with Dr. Ketan's Multitool. (Upzip the tar file to get the modem)
B4 you do any of that, try the kies method. It should work.

Is there no one to help
your phone is originally an LS980 (sprint) converted into d802 , u surely flashed a wronge files but
i think u need to shortcut the 2 capacitors
just remove the buttons connector ,then that metalic plat that its glued in just to get access tothe ic chip and motherboard , of course to do this u need to takr off the baterry and all connectors, once u takr off yhe buttons reconnect every connwctor except the one of buttons and baterry
Thrn connect the the phone to the pc by using a usb (without baterry) then u need a liyyle screw driver or a wire to short the capacitor c5000 and c5004, keep trying till u heard thr pc detect new device named qhusb
Great , for that you need to download srk tool 2.1 just google it
Then selectfix utility then unbrick qhusb and select the correct drive
It will flash : haf, boot , aboot
Thats good for now ur download mode is back to life
Then for ls980 u need to install stock tot file (ls890zv7.tot) flash it with lg flash tool use manual mode u need a dll file (lgls980_20130904_lgflashv151.dll) download it on google... i ll send you links later hiw to do this,im using my phone
Once finished , ur phone is back to life but no signal
Easy ,just need to root. Then install twrp recovery
After that u need to install via recovery mode the (ls980stockuniversal to d802.zip)
And u re phone is getting signal and being fixed
edit: here the tutorial links that helps ya how to do everything
1- to get your phone alive ( to be detected as qusb_bulk)

2- this to fix the qusb issue & download mode back to life

Hi guys,
recently bought this A5 at reasonable price( 50$). It goes fast as any other 4-core brand named device i have seen. But it came with much bloatware such as a search service that somehow i cant stop. I must disable it once a day and then again tsoup! it is on again...Anyway that's why my first thought was rooting the device.
Sometime ago i rooted and old samsung with just a click. But this blackview seems to be solving the circle square. No support, google says little only some russians i can not understand.
So, to end this story i need help to root this device. Flash a modded preinstalled rooted version maybe?
Thanks in advance...
Edit: Managed to root it finally. just flash supersu via twrp(3.03 custom recovery image from needrom site)...8 hours piece of cake ^-^. Thank god for the last beta version 2.79 SR3 201xxx of supersu. All the other version had me to bootloop.
Hi there, please tell me how you did it. Some links to the correct files would be great.

Instead, the stock recovery mode boots up.

That's hell of a problem...did u select the scatter file in sp tools? maybe your firmware is different version? if i remember correct there are 3 versions of blackview A5. I have the A5_C1_Blackview_SD_Q20160709. If different then u must find a twrp for your version..Sorry mate
There is a thread over at 4pda with different versions of twrp but the links are all down. Maybe if you find somebody that speaks russian ore use google translate you can get it there.
Today my new A5 arrived and of course I wanted to root it.
But I have a new Build number = A5_C1-Blackview_SD_Q20161010
Also the drivers are not working.
Does anybody ca help me out ?
thx in advance
My build = A5_C1_Blackview_VO.X_20160420
Would this be a good idea...? Or a bad idea...?
If I go into: Settings -> About phone -> Wireless update
There are no OTA updates available... But there is an option to install "Local updates". I can select the "SuperSU" zip but I get warnings about bricking the phone:
