So I am using the camera on the phone but not able to text photos once they are taken. How do you send pictures taken with stock camera. I tried bot gosms and stock messenger. Thanks
Sent from my Sony Xperia Ion using Tapatalk 2.
On ICS I just use the camera icon in the message app. Works quite well. Come to think of it I have had no issue sending pics at all. Are you still on stock firmware?
Shouldn't it compress the picture before you send?
Sent from my LT28h using xda app-developers app
Yes everything is stock here. I press the quick launch button for the camera, then tried sending with go sms. I asked people if they got the picture and they said no. I tried to resend while on landlines no luck gosms looks like it went through but recipients got nothing. I then went to the stock messaging app and when I tried to send it it said file too large. I am gonna attach the picture. It was a joke to some of my gaming buddies that actually do sell produce so please do not take offense. Thanks for the help.

That's what I thought. Is there a setting to compress pictures
Sent from my Sony Xperia Ion using Tapatalk 2.
Ok checked Mms settings for go sms. I have preserve image resolution checked. I also have maximum Mms size set to 5m since I am always on 4G or lte. I thought this was for receiving pictures but please check your settings. I want to send and receive high quality pictures back and forth with friends and family thanks
Sent from my Sony Xperia Ion using Tapatalk 2.
Well the default messaging app doesn't even have mms settings lol. Umm could you send everything fine before you installed go sms.

You may have hit your data limit? Can you take a screen shot of the error message if any comes up? I know for myself, using juice defender pro when I go from no 4g to 4g sometimes I lose all data connection and cannot do anything so if you have an app that cuts off data while your phones screen is off that could do it
Can you send other pictures? Check your Apn settings also to be sure they're right

All I have to say:
I use an app called File Copy
It is in the market it is discreet and cheap.
You can hide videos and pictures. I have never had a problem with it.
Just put them in a folder with a '.' before the foldername. In this case, it would be under .dirtyPics
Your gallery should ignore them then, the only way to find them is through file manager/astro. If you're using CM, then in file manager hit menu > exclude from media scan.
I use Photo Vault. Works perfect

Hide it pro works. And it's nifty. Couple that with quick pic and you're all set.

I just got a serious lawl from reading those.
Hide it pro. You can hide pictures, videos, apps and others. Shows on your app list as an audio manager. I sometimes use the audio manager feature only for the quick access to volume controls. Plus its free.

Once you flash, to check the action,
1. Once flashed, open the Camera App, go to camera settings > on the right tab > 2/2 page > Shutter Sound > Choose "Silent"
2. You will also notice that you can shoot video and photos till your battery is dead

This is nothing new, but it hadn't been fully ported to The Epic 4G on GB, i'm not sure to whom attribution is due, as i scoured the smali to figure it out.

Thank you for this. Wanted to take some pictures the other day but battery was too low.
In this post I originally asked if anyone had tried this with EL30 yet...
But now I see that there is a silent camera option specifically for EL30 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374154
So, please disregard, and please forgive my n00bness.
Thanks anyway to anyone who works on these fixes!
Says "resolution not supported" when trying to record @ 720p. I'm on MarcusAnt MTD v3.
I am currently running cm10 nightlies and updating almost every night. While I love the ROM and the life it brought back into my phone, there is one small issue I am having with MMS. I'm obsessed with battery life so I tend to turn off wifi, 3g, etc. as often as possible. This causes any incoming MMS to attempt to download endlessly, effectively maintaining my phone awake and draining my battery (while not notifying me I might add).
My first attempt at fixing this was disabling the "auto-retrieve" option in the messaging app settings. This did not fix my issue either as my phone will not notify me of the MMS waiting for download, yet still keeps my phone awake.
Sadly, I have resorted to enabling 3g ceaselessly.
So my question is: is there a fix for MMS or am I stuck keeping 3g on at all times?
EDIT: here are some screens.

Don't u get notifications for when u receive mms? Can't u just download the mms everytime u get one and turn off internet right after? There probably isn't an actual fix for this.

That's exactly my issue. I hoped I would get notifications for MMS but I don't. I get the notification that I received an MMS AFTER I download it... Zero notifications at all while the MMS is either waiting for download or attempting to download.
Does anyone else run CM10 on the Epic 4g and have this issue? I can't be the only one...

Not work
Even I'm getting a horrible bluish purple tint in JB Camera AFTER the picture is clicked.
If I were to give an excuse, I'd say it has a built-in Instragram.
Sorry for the sarcasm if it's offensive.

Never be sorry for being sarcastic. It ruins the whole point lol. And it's ironic.

I am with you on that one! My current SMS is getting dull and outdated. I am switching constantly between Textra and GO SMS and Handcent. Anyone else have any other idea's on what to use??
try google messages or textra textra u can customize to ur liking and has a quick reply feature so no need to actually open SMS app

Textra
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using xda premium
I've gone through a few but now stuck with hangouts. Has the added bonus of video and voice calling if needed.
I loved go sms, I even paid for all its features, but when my messages started getting long it lagged HARD, I looked up solutions but found none, I used it that way on 4 phones over 3 years, I use textra now and wouldn't use anything else
There's also Contacts+, which you can set as your default SMS app. Not for me, I just use Hangouts, seeing as the stock one is so butt-ugly
Textra hands down.
Textra or Evolve SMS are both good with good lollipop designs

I have Evolve SMS with a google messenger theme looks just like google messenger but with more features and sliding conversations

Honestly I've been looking for a replacement also, my issues with all 3rd party sms apps is no multi window support or pop window, Textra in away you don't need this support but it's fails on the lock screen cause after couple min the text message disappears with QR, an than you can't use pop window with this app
Basically I switch from Hangouts and Stock Messages just to have pop window support but I do want QR :/ also hate how you can't access Notification Center on lock screen with password you have to unlock phone first
