there's something wrong with your phone? i see no difference. that's the whole point of having software keys. are you sure you're not complaining about the "highlight" animation, that appears to "lag"?
Idk its just harder to press than normal I had 4 other nexus and it wasn't haveing these problems

Seems the exact same to me.

Any way to change that?
The white epic touch has uncomfortably bright capacitive buttons. So I have to use turn off after 6 seconds option instead of turn off never. It still bothers me though. The black epic touch didn't have this problem.
Not that I know of. I've had mine turned off since the day I got the phone. I know what the buttons are and where they are so I dont need them lit up.

It's certainly possible on HTC phones -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276936
i have a white one too, and, yes, the lights are a lot brighter than on the black ones...Plus, I have a wrapsol covering the entire phone, and, they cast an erie glow
through the screen protector.
Actually, this reminds of an idea for a mod that I had. I thought of it when I had a white et4g screen for a little while, the capacitive buttons look so cool because of the slight aura around the lights.
The idea was a mod that lit each individual button when you hit them, except the light would fade in and out quickly; similar to what the on-screen keys do on the galaxy nexus. It would couple well with a mod that would have them light up quickly in succession when the phone is woken up, rather than simultaneously.
Wishful thinking I suppose lol.

That would be pretty cool if it was actually done.

Ever try using 1.5 seconds for the backlight?

I don't think that would be possible, simply because they were never designed to work that way. Each soft key would have to have its own LED.

I'll take a screen apart again today to confirm, but IIRC they do

Are those capacitive buttons still Amoled?
Cause then by definition they have their own led pixels.

After you flash AOKP roms, there is an option for you to take photos with power button. Although it is still a little weird.

Hi guys.Do you know any way to take screenshots like on Samsung Galaxy S III.I mean swiping the screen from a side to the other side?I am rooted with AOKP B36.Thx
What's wrong with vol down+power? Seems that would be preferable over a gesture that could disturb the screen you're trying to capture.
The guy above me said it

How could it disturb the screen? You do know that it uses the proximity sensor, not touch right? Its not like you drag you hand on the screen.

Nope, had no idea. I'd still prefer the button method though. Knowing me, I'd look like a fool waving my hand around over my phone :/
On aokp press and hold power button and then press screenshot.

Sorry my english is not good.
On AOKP, you can also do the power/volume down.

Fire up Voice Actions and say "Take a screenshot".
This just does a Google search

Ok, I've been having this problem for a while now. I thought it would go away after I flash a couple of ROMs but it never did . My on-screen buttons are harder to press than my actual screen any suggestions ?

Even i feel same at times, mainly cos the touch sensitive (or areas which count as hit for the button) is very less, ans should be increased..
Well I would think they should be the same since the buttons are on the physical screen itself

I have a clicky home button. It kinda is like a two stage button. Its very clicky and not soft and smooth like the power button and volume buttons. If I were to describe the sound it almost sounds like there is a little piece of sand stuck under the button and every time you press it, the button hits it. How would I go about fixing this? I bought the phone off craigslist so could I just go into the T-Mobile store and get a replacement? Or is there a way to fix it? Any help would be AWESOME

That's the noise the button makes.
Seriously?

No it is not smart ass. I've had other Samsung devices with the same button. It is not how its supposed to sound. And it does not happen every time I press it. Usually on the left or right side it does

Mine makes a clicky sound. Everyone I know with a S4 had the same click sound.

In my opinion the build quality is inconsistent. I've bought 3 of them and one had a defective power button (i.e., recessed slightly and difficult to press). If you think something is wrong with your home key go to the store and compare to their demo phones. If there is a real problem with your phone they will tell you your options for getting warranty service.

I just checked 3 different m919s, they all make a click sound on the home key. the power button is mushy and quiet on all 3, and the volume buttons are just in between if you can hear beyond the beeping.
if you're sure something has creeped in there, have you tried taking some dust off to your phone?

How can it be the same button on a DIFFERENT Samsung device?
SOS!!!!!!!!
My girlfriend S4 has the same problem but my S4 is fine. I guess there's no fix.
I've got a little home button sticker on mine that came with my Spigen case. Doesn't really make much of a click.
Had this on my 2nd one. Its like the button kinda gets stuck a bit then it clicks. It just started doing it. My 3rd replacement is fine. Hopefully it stays that way.
