No, you just need the desire z hboot which you seem to have. Don't know what the problem would be. Perhaps someone else may help you out with that.
Just a heads up, I recommend you change your recovery to 4EXT and not clockworkmod recovery.CWM is based on 3EXT, which is outdated. 4EXT has more features and can help make your phone a little faster. The thread is right here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1377754
1. Go to the thread and scroll down to 4EXT Free version: Recovery Updater.
2. Click the link and it will bring you to http://www.4ext.net/
3. Download the apk and install it through any file explorer.
4. Once you have that, install the recovery through the app.
5. Now go into your new recovery, go to tools, convert or change a backup EXT4, now convert your system, data, cache, and you're done.
If you like, you can change your backups to 4EXT.

agree with Eddy130306 that 4ext recovery is the way to go
once you use it you will see why it is far superior to clockwork
it does appear you have the dz hboot, but if for some reason you
changed it here is a quick explanation on how to get the dz hboot back

Many Thanks for your help , i am at work now and will give it a try later today
and so u think that i can't boot any sense ROM due to wrong boot and recovery ? and fixing this will help in installing Sense ROMS
i want to install the official Arabic RUU and don't care about root but as i said before i always get error 170 but all tries was at windows 7 although i already updated many device at same PC and Laptop without a problem
if u can guide me to a Stock GB ROM with Arabic support to install from recovery it will be great
Thanks

Hi All
Installed 4ext recovery but still can't install any Sense ROM !! don't know where is the problem exist
as i remember it's hboot was HBOOT-0.78.1000 (PC10*****) so is this make any difference ??
Thanks in advance

yea, if you no longer have the .84 hboot then you won't be able to use sense roms as they require a larger system partition. just follow the link I posted earlier, it will explain how to change bootloaders with fastboot.
I prefer this method as opposed to using a pc10.img in hboot as you "may" need to then reflash your radio and recovery if done wrong.
if you need help using fastboot ask in that thread as I am not the best @ making tutorials

i tried the guide u posted earlier and have HBOOT-0.84.200 (PC10*****) same as shown in photos in first post
is it the problem the device isn't VISION PVT ??? as shown in photos also it's VISION XD ENG S-OFF
Tried This guide and the update succeed but i still have the same info at my HBOOT Screen
Is there any chance that this is G2 and not a Desire Z ,, it came with Froyo but with Froyo UI not the HTC Sense but with all HTC icons and style in menu and setting ..
i am really disappointed as it's a friend device and i want to bring it back to life by anyway
Thanks

If it came with froyo stock. Then most likely it is a g2.

are you flashing those through recovery? those roms aren't ment to be flashed through recovery, rather through hboot. doing so may cause issues though as they are to flash radio/rom/recovery/etc
rather you can extract and just flash what you need either through hboot or fastboot
I believe there are arabic roms on xda that are rooted and can be flashed through recovery, if I get time ill try and dig one up, pretty sure I've seen some

Hm I don't think having a dz or g2 makes a difference. Same phone and everything, just different branding and of course partions due to different hboots. You have a dz. You can check so by looking at the top of the screen. Having HTC on top means you have a dz. Having T-Mobile means its a g2.

Did you also try Sandvold's ICS (click on my sig)? If not, search the thread. If I remember it were discussed and the result was, it's working.
Maybe try ROM made by Preston74?? You find this Rom on forum.android.com.pl...This ROM is a port from VIRTUOSQUATRO for DesireHD.IS very stable and not too laggy like for a beta...

2.flashed nova launcher
3 booted up ,thats fine
4. then flashed softkeys via my main rom
5 rebooted and got bootloop
my main rom is a desire rom based of desire s , i find the desire hd roms choppy in some areas

I tried a few ics roms too and only the 'tiny ics' Rom would boot thru boot manager for me. Check your hboot if it is compatible with the Rom. This is from my personal experience, others may have gotten them to boot using boot manager.

Works!
Flashed the ROM.
Android: 2.3.5
HTC Sense 2.1
Soft. nmb: 2.13.720.1
Looks like stock ROM, with Root just as explained. SuperSu installed. Rest is as STOCK.
Awesome! So this means i can flash Custom Roms!
Is it just replacing the BOOT.img + SYSTEM.img files from your download?

It seems to already have CWM 2.0.5.8 (thats what Rom manager says..)
Can't flash any recovery right now beceause adb keeps saying "conneting to device"....
I tried Alquez's PG76IMG unofficial cwm recovery 2.0.5.6 in root folder and open Hboot. This gave me invallid CID.
So can't help you right now. Rom manager works thats one thing.. x'D
Reboot into recovery gave me the same screen again.
Flashed recovery through Rom manager, it said succesfull. Than reboot into recovery -> after HTC screen -> blackscreen buttons lit up.... Same story all over again.
But the good news is you don't need recovery any more, because of this tool! so who cares? More important is can we flash are own roms by just replacing the files system.img and boot.img in the file he gave us?!?!

[ROOT] How to Root Walton Primo G1 Jelly Bean 4.1.1 (MT6577)

I have got many request on XDA and also from my friends that after upgrading Walton Primo G1 to Jelly Bean 4.1.1 they aren't able to root their device as before with one click root ( script ) ....
So many of them refused to update ...
Well just finished writing a script that seems to root Walton Primo G1 Jelly Bean 4.1.1 .. ( just rooted 5 G1 yesterday so don't worry ) . You have to flash the .zip through CWM ...
This Script will work on almost every MT6577 and still on testing on Further MT65XX besed processor with Jelly Bean Rom....
So Stay tuned to this post ..
Click to collapse
Here is the details instruction on how to install CWM and Root your Desired G1 Jelly Bean 4.1.1
First Download the Attachment file and save it to some place safe ...
Transfer the Jelly_bean_root_6577.zip file to your device sdcard .......
Open your version of SP Flash Tools ( the one that you have used to upgrade to JB ) ..
Load the MTK scatter file from attachment and then trick recovery and browse the downloaded file ( recovery-cwm -jb.img ) ... then hit download and turn off your primo g1 pull out the battery and reinsert it , then connect it with mini usb cable ( with or without battery )..... and you will see these pic below ...
You can also use my previous CWM from Walton Android Shop thread here .... But this one has just compiled besed on the stock jelly bean 4.1.1 recovery ...

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
then it will start to flash CWM to your primo g1 ..
if everything goes alright then you will get this pic below ..
CWM has just being flashed to your primo ... Go to recovery mode by Power + Vol up Button ( let go when you will see the walton logo .. )
In CWM go to Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sd > choose the Jelly_bean_root_6577.zip file and > apply yes ... then resart your device ..
Congratulation ... :good: your Primo G1 Jelly Bean 4.1.1 has been rooted ...
If you are thinking to copy this thread to another forum .... ( ..i have seen many duplicate copies ..) then you are most welcomed but you should include this main XDA thread with copy... in this way the user will not be confused ... becz i continuously updates my post according to user request and submitted bug ... so those changes didn't reach to the other duplicated copy i suppose ...

howdy brother. great work. though i m not using primo G1, but i noticed many people were frustrated about rooting JB. anyways congratulation.
btw, i m using W125 based on MTK 6589, which is also exact copy of xolo q800. but the rooting method is not working for us. i dont know why. trying to root using the method that xolo uses, many people have already lost their stock recovery. So any chance that we will see ur magic again. once again, keep it up brother. we need people like u in our android community.

hboots
Vaiya , what about the hboots in G1 , whats the Stock hboot size system/cache/data , and does it have any other page for custom ROMs for G1 in XDA thread ? and if there is , do we have to always install the ROM via Flash tool or via CWM by "install from sd card" .. and the last question , will fastboot commander work with G1?? .. Thnx in advance and great work!! really appriciate .. ! :cyclops:

I Know what that means..... if your device is not g1 then attach the stock recovery.img here.... and u will get a cwm for ur device then... and then u can flash......

ok here it is.
Hboot is found in HTC devices and considered as baseband
b2b doesn't have a hboot but basebrand could be found in preloader , dsp may be..... And there is no custom Rom for g1 . It us a new device. And fastboot command works on almost All Android and so as g1.

I've tried every one click on my PC w Odin. Rooted, unrooted, full restore ect. Every jb rom flashes but stays in boot loop on the rom boot up screen.

You try the official release from sammobile.com
also..did up go into recovery and try to wipe cache and dalvik after the bootloop to see if that fixed it.
If none of the above has worked.. I would Odin back to the official firmware you're device came with... then try to Odin a JB one click or probably the official release. Sounds like maybe something is wonky with you're partition... I've never had this issue on my epic... but I did run into a similiar issue once with my gtab 10.1 and I had to wipe it and Odin the original firmware to fix it...
That being said... my tab never had an official JB release and so never needed a change in the partition...as we all run cm/aosp/aokp based roms. But that is how I managed to get it to flash roms again..
Let me know and good luck..
Also try pulling the battery ascends doing a factory reset during the bootloop

I will try this when I get home. Even the original VM software boot loops.
Any idea of why I get a failed status 7 when I try to flash the kitkat from ?
You need a Newer CWM version in order for it to flash, unfortunately you need to be on a 4.3.1 ROM like hood pope to have the latest recovery version.

You remember... in the other thread you started about kitkat..
Bilgerryan said it was an error something or other... probably from something missing, like a comma or period or whatever... believe him.
He is the Man... maybe a new update will fix the issue... if one does exist. I'm not sure, as I've yet to even look into the thread recently... but I will tomorrow afternoon and see if I can flash it.
If I can... well... we'll have to figure out the issue on you're end.
Edit... if gamepro is right... then that's a simple solution... I'll try tomorrow.
Can't I just flash the newer cwm

Is there a new cwm recovery over there.... I've been on tw based roms for so long... I haven't been watching. But I'll look.
My phone want flash jb roms gonna have to find a fix for that first..I thought maybe it would flash kitkat and not have to worry about jb.
OK so I flashed hood pope and of course it did nothing but boot loop like all jb roms do on my phone , so I used the new cwm that comes w hood pope and flashed kitkat. It flashed but boot loop city like all jb roms. Now I'm back on my ics cm9 the old man. Can't do anything until this issue gets fixed on my phone or get a new phone.
Have you tryed repartitioning the phone, may be that will work:what:

Instead of starting a new thread, read the guidelines and do some research.Don't expect anybody to spoonfeed you.
I hope you know something known as "GOOGLE".

Umm, keep calm If he has a completely different issue there's nothing against the guidelines. Regarding googling and searching the forum I have to say that the guides for rooting and s-off have become a total mess as the better ones haven't made sticky and are buried under crap stuff like one click and such. And finding the right stuff (which isn't outdated already) for a specific HBOOT started to become a bit complicated.
That's the reason I always appreciated the helpful people in the Buzz forum (like heavymetal man who doesn't even own a Willy anymore AFAIK) because sometimes Googling and searching might not be safe enough - you'll need to hear about the experience
Therefore you're right with the eesence of what you probably might have wanted to say: READ, READ, LISTEN, LISTEN, DOUBLECHECK and most important: use your brain (if any)
Oh, and while looking into the recommendation I must say, that (relatively new) guide of akulgupta100 really looks good (but didn't go deeper - no time).

I do not really know what to do, I bought this phone second handed and it already had CyanogenMod 7 installed and the Revolutionary MOD installed. I just unrooted (Don't know if that's a real word) the phone and now I want to reinstall Revolutionary so I can install Rempuzzle onto my HTC Wildfire. What step do I start? Post 4 does not (maybe) help me!

OK, I will explain things for you you already have revolutionary on the phone, that's a plus. Since your phone is s-off you can now flash a custom recovery And through that gain root access or a custom ROM like cyanogenmod.
In order to do most android development, ROM flashing or android debugging we use two tools. They are called adb and fastboot. Both of these are used from the windows command prompt to issue commands to the phone over USB. You must download these to flash custom ROMs. If you go to the first post in the linked thread you will end up with a working and folder. You can use YouTube to look up on and if you want to know more.
Next you will need to flash the custom recovery from fastboot. This is discussed in post 4 of that thread. After youtubing about and follow post 4 and it will help you flash clockworkmod.
After that you will probably want to pick a custom ROM. Select one from the development section, use rempuzzle if you like the htc sense style or cyanogenmod 7 (cm7) if you want pure android (but make sure to flash gapps as well. (Gapps stands for Google apps and has the play store ect) ) always follow the recommended install instructions in the development thread. And most importantly once you have installed cwm make a nandroid back up! This is a full back up of your phone and if things mess up you will need it

Hmmm right. There are many guys here on XDA who are always willing to help (including heavymetal and you).I appreciate that. It's always good to share your knowledge and help the people who need some guidance.I just don't like the people who take you for granted and expect you to spoonfeed them. They have a knack of starting a new thread for every question.e.g Oh please somebody tell me what is rooting ?For heaven's sake what the hell are you doing here if you don't even bother to educate yourself. At least learn the basics. No but they won't do that. These losers sign in on xda once or twice in a year just to ask silly questions. They never bother to troubleshoot the problems of other members.
Following quote shows how much these people know about the ROOT.SMH

Well, it seems that now (your quote) you could say that as it turns out that it matches 50% of your suspicion - but initially that hasn't been clear (from a neutral perspective at least). Additionally some people simply aren't used to how to behave in a forum...
And please don't tell people they should use Google for general education on things they don't have an idea of - that easily leads into even more serious problems to solve

@eventcom xda's mention system didn't mention that comment to me in my opinion these kinds of programs are great when you know how they function to begin with. they can really speed things up but I am a lover of adb/fastboot. I guess I enjoy putting the code in myself too much
