Any help will be appreciated, thank you for reading!

You need to reflash clockworkmod recovery, make a nandroid back up, wipe all and then install rempuzzle.

Umm, keep calm If he has a completely different issue there's nothing against the guidelines. Regarding googling and searching the forum I have to say that the guides for rooting and s-off have become a total mess as the better ones haven't made sticky and are buried under crap stuff like one click and such. And finding the right stuff (which isn't outdated already) for a specific HBOOT started to become a bit complicated.
That's the reason I always appreciated the helpful people in the Buzz forum (like heavymetal man who doesn't even own a Willy anymore AFAIK) because sometimes Googling and searching might not be safe enough - you'll need to hear about the experience
Therefore you're right with the eesence of what you probably might have wanted to say: READ, READ, LISTEN, LISTEN, DOUBLECHECK and most important: use your brain (if any)
Oh, and while looking into the recommendation I must say, that (relatively new) guide of akulgupta100 really looks good (but didn't go deeper - no time).

I do not really know what to do, I bought this phone second handed and it already had CyanogenMod 7 installed and the Revolutionary MOD installed. I just unrooted (Don't know if that's a real word) the phone and now I want to reinstall Revolutionary so I can install Rempuzzle onto my HTC Wildfire. What step do I start? Post 4 does not (maybe) help me!

OK, I will explain things for you you already have revolutionary on the phone, that's a plus. Since your phone is s-off you can now flash a custom recovery And through that gain root access or a custom ROM like cyanogenmod.
In order to do most android development, ROM flashing or android debugging we use two tools. They are called adb and fastboot. Both of these are used from the windows command prompt to issue commands to the phone over USB. You must download these to flash custom ROMs. If you go to the first post in the linked thread you will end up with a working and folder. You can use YouTube to look up on and if you want to know more.
Next you will need to flash the custom recovery from fastboot. This is discussed in post 4 of that thread. After youtubing about and follow post 4 and it will help you flash clockworkmod.
After that you will probably want to pick a custom ROM. Select one from the development section, use rempuzzle if you like the htc sense style or cyanogenmod 7 (cm7) if you want pure android (but make sure to flash gapps as well. (Gapps stands for Google apps and has the play store ect) ) always follow the recommended install instructions in the development thread. And most importantly once you have installed cwm make a nandroid back up! This is a full back up of your phone and if things mess up you will need it

Hmmm right. There are many guys here on XDA who are always willing to help (including heavymetal and you).I appreciate that. It's always good to share your knowledge and help the people who need some guidance.I just don't like the people who take you for granted and expect you to spoonfeed them. They have a knack of starting a new thread for every question.e.g Oh please somebody tell me what is rooting ?For heaven's sake what the hell are you doing here if you don't even bother to educate yourself. At least learn the basics. No but they won't do that. These losers sign in on xda once or twice in a year just to ask silly questions. They never bother to troubleshoot the problems of other members.
Following quote shows how much these people know about the ROOT.SMH

Well, it seems that now (your quote) you could say that as it turns out that it matches 50% of your suspicion - but initially that hasn't been clear (from a neutral perspective at least). Additionally some people simply aren't used to how to behave in a forum...
And please don't tell people they should use Google for general education on things they don't have an idea of - that easily leads into even more serious problems to solve

[Q] How to get Sense 3.0 on Htc Desire hd.Help please!

Hy all.
I just got a Htc desire hd yesterday with stock android 2.3.3 and i dont know a thing about rooting and hacking android(i had an iPhone 3gs before). So i would like to know how can i get the Sense 3.0 (like the one from htc sensations) on my htc? please someone explain this in a simple way,for dummies like me.
Please if someone want to help me.
Thanks.
Search this forum.. There are numerous guides on how to Root your DHD..
hy thanks
but i need to know the steps .... i dont know anything about this kind of stuff...
Hi,
welcome to XDA! You're generally better off asking questions on the Desire HD Q&A thread.
A stock (as in made by HTC) Sense 3.0 rom isn't available yet (if at all) but there are a few custom roms that dedicated teams have made.
Here's what I did to get 3.0 on my DHD - please note that all these steps may not be necessary but they're just what I did. Also I'm pretty sure they'll void your warranty as I think you'll need to root your phone to get a custom rom on there.
Firstly, read up on this stuff as ignorance = bricked device!
I started by looking at the sticky'd threads over on the Desire HD Development forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=765
specifically M_T_M's roll up thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936214
which should contain all the info you'll need to back up, downgrade, root, s-off/eng s-off, flash clockwork recovery, wipe and install a sense 3.0 ROM.
I think you'll probably need to downgrade your phone from 2.3.3 to 1.32.405.6 (I could be wrong, but I don't think you can root 2.3.3 - I'm sure if I'm wrong someone in the know will correct me).
This guide seems to cover downgrading -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
then this guide is great for flashing a ROM etc -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11557769
I'd recommend Virtuous Unity for a 3.0 Sense rom, but there are others out there.
Hope that helps
Good luck!
Grim.
u are awesome
thanks very much...a very elaborate answer
i will try what u said :d and i have 2 more questions: this whole thing will erase all the content from my phone?(apps contacts etc),and can i come back to original 2.3.3 android if i dont like the sense 3.0 Rom ?
thanks again ..and cheers :d

No problem, I know it can be hard if you don't know where to start.
1) Yup, it will erase the content on your phone, but shouldn't erase your SD card.
You can back your contacts up to the SD card through the People application:
people-> menu -> import/export -> export to SD card -> choose account to export.
this will save them as a .vcf file in the root of your SD card, you then reverse the process once you have your new ROM installed.
I think the most popular application to use to back-up your apps is Titanium backup (available from the market), however I think this needs root permissions, so you'll likely not be able to use it (if my previous assumption about not being able to root 2.3.3 is correct). I use a different app called Appmonster which I find better for restoring market links (personal opinion), and I don't think this needs root.
I think it's possible to back up your settings using the above apps, however I'm sure I read that it's not recommended, especially when moving to a sense 3.0 ROM.
Your photos and videos should already be on your SD card, however it might be worth using the (PC) sync software to sync them onto your pc first just in case.
I'm pretty sure you will like your 3.0 ROM, I love the one I'm using. however there are other threads that detail how to restore your phone to stock, I'm sure it's more complex than this (I've not tried it) but I would assume you just flash back a stock ROM. If your handset is network branded you could re-flash either the stock network ROM or a stock HTC ROM - I'd definitely read up on this before attempting it though.
Good luck!
cheers,
Grim
sense will come for dhd like desire s
thanks. again. i will have that in mind.now i am actually reading guides and threads on this forum so i do this right..
its seams that there are a lot of things to consider and know before rooting my phone...gosh,its way harder than how it was with my iPhone....,but i guess i will learn

and isn't something , like a cydia store for android?someone should make a app like that ..i dont think is that hard, considering what huge and great Roms&Apps are the developers from xda making. something closely like it was on iPhone...for those like me who are new to those things..its quite hard at the beginning.
i know i am dreaming,but just saying..
really? where do u know that? because it will be real nice, and i am not actually so happy with voiding my warranty

THIS IS NOT TRUE, the desire HD will NOT receive Sense 3.0 a good example of this...http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/14/htc-sense-3-0-will-only-support-sensation-evo-3d-flyer-and-new/
Not officially at least, XDA is full of partial sense 3.0 ROMS, and I'm sure will be quickly growing with more and more full sense 3.0 ROMS
htc does however, state, they may try to work in a few htc sense 3.0 components into some of the other devices.
Thanks button is aways appreciated!

Custom ROM recommendation needed

Hi guys!
My daughter and I are utter newbies at the rooting game - but we did succeed in getting her HTC Desire (European, GSM version) Sed-OFF and rooted. After the blood sweat and tears involved in getting the thing rooted, I didn't think finding a suitable ROM was going to be very challenging. How wrong I was!
We've tried 3-4 different custom ROMs so far, but we're not really finding what she needs.
Goals:
1) Less bloatware.
2) Applications go to the SD-card, so she doesn't run out of space so incredibly quickly. (I know there a lot of ways to skin that cat. Any one is fine!)
3) Tight integration with daughter's Google account. (Like vanilla. For example, we've discovered that CyanogenMod is setup to integrate with exchange accounts. I'm sure that's great for someone, but not for her ... )
4) Google Play already installed and easy to get working.
5) If possible, HTC Sense.
Doesn't seem all THAT difficult ...
I can assure you pretty much all roms will have close integration wiwh your google account.
The index sticky on the development forum provides a list of all existing roms for desire.

These 3 are quite recommended for your goals (in no specific order):
Supernova
AN-Droid
Cool Droid
Or, if you can live without sense, try the ROM in my sig.
All of them are ROMs you can install and don't look back anymore after a bit of personal tweaking. It might require installing other hboots and setting up sd-ext partitions, though.

Actually, my daughter is trying out the MIUI version at the moment, and likes it pretty well. It's not actually the Sense UI, but it's very nice looking.
Unfortunately, we seem to be having a problem getting a2sd working. We installed the S-OFF and recovery tool from http://revolutionary.io/ - it seemed to be the latest thing going. It loads this: ra-desire-v2.0.1. We have used it successfully to flash the various custom mods, and we carefully followed instructions in setting up an EXT3 partition (size 1gb). However, the partition isn't mounting and can't be used by a2sd. I even get an error message when I try to mount it in recovery mode.
Bother.
mite i suggest this recovery, it is the best in everyway and partitions ur sdcard perfect.(dont forget to backup first). just download and install the updater app then open it and flash recovery. simples

Hi, this is the daughter!
Thanks, this recovery really works better and is a lot easier to handle!
We successfully partitioned the SD card again and now have about 1GB on it. However, we're confused about a couple of things, can you help us with them?
When we reinstalled MIUI (miui-ger_DESIRE_2.4.6_FULL_EN_DE.zip) all of the apps that were built into the custom ROM went directly to the internal storage and can't be moved.
Some of the new apps I installed (AirDroid, BubbleUPnP, Alchemy Classic) went either directly to the SD card or I could at least move them there, the others (YouTube, SwiftKey 3) did not and I can't move them either.
OP, I suggest reading the rules on future before posting around this site.

Since you liked MIUI I might recommend you a customized edition
Look here.
Tip: The "X-PART" version is the one you're looking for. It maps the internal storage to /ext partition on your card, so you'll see your 1g there under Settings - Apps.
Hope it helps.

Hello KidCarter93,
This is the Dad again - and please accept my sincerest apologies. I tried hard to do this right, but I seem to have messed up. I 've been using internet forums/email lists for 20 years now, I appreciate them deeply, and I don't want to behave abusively.
In my defense, my daughter and I spent DAYS searching the forums, reading and trying to figure stuff out before bothering you guys. But we're new to Droid modding, and it all got a little overwhelming ...

Um ... yet another question: We just downloaded this:

I think I've got the right one - but there is a mind boggling number of versions and variants in there!
P.S. I honestly thought getting S-OFF and root was going to be the big challenge - a perfect of father-daughter vacation project on my old cell phone. It never crossed my mind that simply choosing a new firmware was going to be so brutally confusing!)
P.S. That X-PART recovery was like night and day. Wish I'd found that a long time ago!

It's this one.
Download, move to sdcard and flash it
After installing it check under Settings - Applications how much space you have. It should be equal or around your ext partition you created.

YES!! It worked!!!
My daughter (15) goes back to school tomorrow with a successful project behind her. She'll have a free phone with space for as many apps as she can find - and a new feel for the the gizmo she uses. I did most of the forum writing (English is not her mother tongue), but she did most of the reading, downloading and general work.
Thanks for your help and patience.

[Q] *noob* How do i update my DHD to sense 4.0/4.1?

Hey guys,
I have Desire HD for like a year I guess, and I have never tried to update stuff and jailbreak (root) it or anything..
After a long time I feel that I need to have a little refreshment for my phone and do something with it.
A friend told me that if I would update it to Sense 4 it will be just great.
and thats what i want to do, to update my phone to Sense 4.
I dont want any other ROMs that people made, just the normal HTC Sense 4.0/4.1
Can you guys help me out and tell me how can I do that?
BTW. current sense version is like 2.1 or something.
Thanks, Ori.
Sure. You'll need to buy another htc phone to get what you want.
Any rom you find here will be ported from another device. The most you'll be able to get from your carrier/htc is sense 3.0, go over to the website, download the ruu, follow the instructions.

Well, first you need to root. Read the PDF guide in post #7 of the Ace Think Tank thread for detailed instructions. After you do that, Venom DHD will work for your phone, as will all ROMs in the DHD and Inspire 4G forums.

I strongly advise that you do not use a video. AAHK comes with an extremely clear, detailed manual; if you read it thoroughly and make sure you understand it, you won't have any problems at all.

i second that. i cannot stress the importance of thoroughly reading the 'effen maunel'.
there is no 'official' htc provided ics and sense 4/.1 rom for the htc desire hd. however, developers have managed to port these roms from other devices, as well as includeing additional features. the aahk will make your phone rooted and s-off. if you are on android 2.3.5(and maybe others, in not sure) it will run twice, first to downgrade the software, and then to root and s-off.
personally, my favourite sense 4.1 rom is sabsa prime(very very stable and some nice additional functionality).
it's probably a good idea to read a bit about how to use a custom recovery and flash roms etc
have fun! :good:

Unfortunately my friend this is not a hold my hand and guide me forum. You need to do some reading and learning like the rest of us. We all had to do it and we all were new at this once. So please read and search then read and search some more before you end up coming back to us requesting help to fix your phone.
Never attempt anything without some kind of basic knowledge of what you are trying to do.
To get anything higher than 2.3.7 means you have to go custom rom like JB or ICS. So my first advice to you would be reading up on how to get your bootloader unlocked since its a DHD. If its an inspire then read up on rooting if its still supported.
Good luck and enjoy the learning.

I agree...
To op. Please look through the forums, people have already done lots and lots of work already for you, creating guides and tools and roms and recoveries.
Now I don't want to sound mean, but at the end of the day your going to have to do all the work rooting and flashing yourself, this stuff is not easy for beginners (noobs) your going to have to do some reading and learning.
However this does not mean that some one is not going to help you after you've learned some skills.

flash proper kernel (no, I won't provide any links, you have to find it by yourself by using "search" tool... aokp is CM9 [ICS] or CM10 [JB]) and then flash aokp ROM

The best way to learn something is to read ROM's first posts
First posts of many roms don't give much information actually... You'll probably have to read many ''first posts'' to get a proper understanding. People on here are annoying about telling new people how to get started because they in all likelihood learned by themselves though searching and reading. Flashing a new rom is easy but there is a learning curve and you will need troubleshooting skills, so the more you read and know the better!

We are all learning by making mistakes You think why I know more than e.g. OP of this thread? Because I'm too impatient to wait until somebody will answer my questions! I was doing things by myself, bricking phones, restoring them back and gaining knowlegde! So not more experienced users are "bad" because they won't tell everything, NEW USERS ARE TO LAZY TO SEARCH, MAKING MISTAKES AND LEARN!!!

Don't worry!
Anyone coming to XDA forums for the first time, is "noob" and all the other names...
What IS important - you have "sticky" threads that will explain quite a lot. BUT, you'll have to read and read and read until you'll know what and where to ask... Well, we all learn until we die...
So, yes, read. Search and search and read again! Or, if you're in real trouble, send PM (you know what that is, right?)...
Regarding your question, well, you'll just have to look around and decide what you'll do with your hov :fingers-crossed:
But, to be on "friendly side",
read that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598964 and that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1713257 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869667 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1806152 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996665. I KNOW - a lot to read, but...
Oh, don't just pick a rom like pants or shirt, go through all of them, read and read all OPs until you're sure which one to put on your hov. And before you do that for the first time, learn how to do that again and again...

To make it short: every rom needs a kernel that it's likely not stock kernel. In every OP of rom it's written which kernel you have to use...
