Hi, Is anybody using a Privacy Screen protector for their SGS II? What brand would you recommend? And will it affect your AMOLED screen in terms of brightness? Thanks!

sorry it wont help mate but i really dont like them , they make viewing in the sun a nightmare and are generally a fingerprint/oil magnet
maybe you can find a good one but all i have tried i have removed asap
I'm using it...so far it's been good...happy w it
used 3M privacy protector for like a month and switched back to conventional matt/anti-glare.
the brightness & color got compromised and my eyes tend to get tired after looking at the screen for too long..
Greetings, I was wondering if there's a replacement front glass for our xperia devices. It has a small scratch and it bothers me, and I'm not willing to pay for a full screen replacement
I searched eBay but I found nothing.

You can only get these items from service center..if you want it you have to pay full amount i think it cause. Aprox 100 $...
Xperian8~ click thanks if it helps...
I want only the front panel which is attached on the housing that has the Sony Ericsson logo. I don't think that it's a part of the screen replacement. Anyway, I'm going at a Sony Ericsson service and ask them..

Shutter proof as in ?
Don't replace the glass
Technically, it's possible to replace just the glass for any phone, but for the Xperia Arc, it's a huge pain, there's more adhesive holding the glass to the LCD compared to other phones, and when I tried to scrape off the glass, I tore LCD. I think it's fine to leave it cracked, there's some sort of screen protector on top to prevent you from cutting yourself (I'm not sure if I was supposed to take even that off, it was glued pretty securely, and a lot of glass came off with it).
I just bought an anti glare SP for my i9100 and to be honest, it SUCKS.
The screen looks like it has water on it(little spots disturbing the color) and the phone overall feels like CRAP.

Glossy is still the best. I'd rather clean the screen more often for fingerprints than bear with the poor visuals of the anti glare screen protectors.

ya its really sucks... huge drop in brightness and color aberrant specially while viewing picture.
Glassy one looks better but problem is finger print and get sometimes chopped which need cleaning after a while.
Thanks for posting was about to buy one . So now my decision is changed

But do make sure that you get a glossy or any kind of SP because gorilla glass isn't all that tough. I have a hairline crack on my i9100.

I see your point about the colours of the display while using an anti-glare protector. But honestly, I still prefer being able to use my phone with light shining on it, to having a reflecting screen.
As for the colours: I'm not using my phone for professional video or photo editing, so I really don't mind if it's a bit off.
So don't neglect anti-glare protectors just yet.

lol, when I pay £400+, I expect my screen to look flawless I mean, if you've got an iPhone, then it probably wouldn't even make a difference
I love my anti glare! All my friends asked me to buy some for them i think the feeling of the TS is better!
Via SII
Ok, I just applied one on my S2 [first time without bubbles (give me an applause! lulz)] and it seems like wet. But now my finger doesn't make friction anymore and i don't encounter microlags anymore. So that was my fingers! Ahahah

I have a matte screen protector too. It has some advantages when using it outside and with sun. I hate that grainy effect that all colors are kinda disturbed. A big positive side is that finger slips on it like charm. Next screen protector will definitely be glossy.

Anti glare definitively sucks .... If you see the phone in screen off mode its looks like a plastic toy
When in use lots of purple aberration and huge drop in brightness just piece of ****.
I changed it to slim screen protector which I feel better touch also.

Check on YouTube there are very good tutorials
I'd recommend iShieldz screen protector. It lasts a long time, and is very stable. I had mine on my phone for 6 months before I took it off.
Will these screen protectors reduce the sensitivity of your screen to the touch?
Yes, they do, at first. But, only by a little. The sensitivity returns as you use your phone. I put one on in March and its as sensitive as none at all now.
i cant find screen protector for One V, I had to cut one from Galaxy s3 just to make it fit in the screen.

I've tried screen protectors in the past but never liked how they felt and realized that I can buy a replacement screen on ebay for a little over $10. With some of the tiny torx screwdrivers I invested in (home depot had them for $10), I can replace my screen if I feel it gets bad (youtube videos can show you how to take it apart). That is my solution. The added bonus is that if you break your screen, you have the stuff to replace it.
