Update – HTC Desire Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) update
In our commitment to providing you with the best user experience, we are pushing out a new firmware update to your phone. Your phone will receive a notification of this update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Software Number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software information> Software number). The new software number after the update will be 1.15.405.4 for an HTC phone.
Haven't had it pushed out, but have done a manual update.
Went on fine.
Looks like us T-Mobile users are gonna have to wait ages.
I wanted to try an update before having the handset swapped for the pink hue issue. ffs
Yep, was notified there was an update available yesterday evening.
Downloaded and installed, can't notice any differences on the front-end, must have done something though!
Just noticed that there is another post RE this -

I've tried the Manual update and there is nothing as yet.
Hi,
I bought a new nexus yesterday, just found out with android system info app that its a yakjuux! meaning all downloads will be done via Samsung.
It has android 4.0.1. I wanted to check, whats the latest ICS running on yakjuux handsets? if 4.0.2 than how to get it and and is there a manual way to pull the update if its released.
Also, can anyone recommend a good software to transfer data files from desire HD to nexus? would appreciate the help...
thanks
just go to about phone, and tell it to update, should go straight to 4.0.2 , mine did atleast, though not for long since I went and started custom rom'd it up (as usual)
If you want to have the most recent updates, you can change your phone to Yakju here. (the most recent for Yakju is 4.0.4) For transferring data between phones/roms, I would recommend Titanium Backup Pro. It is definitely worth your money.

i checked multiple times but it says your current software is up to date...
if i stay on my current ROM, would i ever get an update? is there any way to find out some tentative schedule regarding android updates?
thanks
had same problem then installed this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImRlLmNicnVlZ2cub2ZmaWNpYWx1cGRhdGUiXQ..
from the market it tells you if your phone will get updates.
Try this it worked for me 4.0.2 - > 4.0.4 go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Google Services Framework ( just delete cache/clear data)-> then go to the About and should see an strange date for last checked and click Check Now try more then once for me it worked on the ... 4-5 time can't remember.

thanks for the tip but not worked for me... the date was set to 1/1/1970 but after ever trying 8-10 times, it did not work.
Well not being a stock google image there could be quite a delay http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170 however this build (yakjuux) seems to have both updates uploaded which means someone somewhere has got it and shared it.
So you have two options root try with this updates manually...
or put a stock image from google code web site
You can always wait ofcourse ... I didn't

thanks for the info. Considering my knowledge is very limited, is it safe to put the stock image? what might be the consequences if something doesnt work out. In case of some problem, i will be stuck with no real help around.

You can find the manual update to yakjuux 4.0.2 here (yakjuux ICL53F from ITL41F): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170
I received an update to that version from Google. I believe Google stopped the updates, though, because after the update there was a problem with the Market. However, if you do a factory reset from settings menu after the update, it resolved the Market issues for me.
I have not tried the yakjuux IMM48 update yet, because i'm not convinced that it is a current 4.0.4 update.

Flash the yakju build.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Flashing to yakju is the best choice if you don't used it much... If you don't wanna wipe your phone, there is a way to root without unlocking. Then you can flash to latest yakuux
Hope that helped

does flashing to Yakju ensures latest OTA updates from google? furher, does it require to wipe out the entire data?
Hi,
I am a proudly possessor of a Galaxy nexus.. I have a stock ROM 4.02 and I haven't my update to 4.04 yet.
I tried to force the OTA update killing the process (Framework) but still nothing.
I not want to flash another ROM loosing my data.
Thank you all in advance.
You know there are apps out there to back up and restore all of your data. Also I know I saw the update for you to manually download it from Droid life. Just Google that and I think it told you on the sitehow to do it with out bring rooted and not losing your data.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Updates are rolled out in BATCHES. Not everyone receives the update AT THE SAME TIME.
A few thousand one week, a few thousand the next.
My friend is still on 4.0.2 and his is supposed to be updated FIRST.
Just wait.
Flashing is fun!

Install "Android System Info" app from market and see in System > BuildInfoOS > Product, if your product is "yakju", then it's a matter of time till you receive OTA update notification. But if the product code is other than "yakju" (e.g yakjujp, yakjuxw, etc.), then you might need to wait longer to get OTA update.
Though you can always convert your product to "yakju" from any other build if you want. But keep in mind that this process will wipe your data. So make a backup before you dive into that.
If you change your mind and wanna flash to "yakju", the following thread might help you.

That's the Canadian version if memory serves? Unless there's an official ota out there for you...you'd have to root and flash it....to try and pull an update from the server there are 2 ways to go about this...1) settings>about phone>software update.....2)settings>apps>all....scroll down to Google frameworks service and clear data.....when you go back to settings > about phone> software update if should now say "last checked 12/31/69" (something like that). Now check for the update again....try two or three times if it doesn't work the first time....these steps are really easy and will not harm your device in any way shape or form however....it might just be easier to check and see if there actually was an official OTA for your device....if there isn't you will have to root and flash your device or just wait....good luck....

You need to be rooted to manually update. Ive always been rooted so not sure how long amazon typically takes to update. Its been 4 days so id think youd have it by now. Maybe contact amazon?
