i have a problem regarding the 3x4 keypad, whenever i press space after a word it needs to be press twice. my friends S3 doesn't do this, will a handcent or any apps for messaging fix this? or do i need to change some of the setting which I can't really find. TIA
It's in the settings of that particular keyboard.

Hi guys,
Just wondering is there some way to stop the keyboard from showing in the default messaging every time you go into it?

I'm not sure it can be done with the stock SMS app. Third party ones like Go SMS and Handcent have an option for stopping the automatic appearance of the keyboard.
Thanks, got handcent at the moment. Just that one of the custom rims i had tried it was hidden on the stock sms so thought there may have been a way to hide it.

I know, I know everyone has been saying that they are getting blurry mms's that's not what my question is about.
As per the suggestions I installed the cm messaging:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20738522&postcount=4027
After installing the app, the messaging icon appears on the home page and not in the bottom in the Dock with the "Phone", "Contacts", and "Application". Just wondering how to get it down there?
Also whenever I get a new text message and/or e-mail my lock screen doesn't turn on, and there is no Event Notification to unlock the screen and go immediately to either the text messaging app or the e-mail.
If someone could let me know how to fix these concerns or direct me to where I would be able to find the answers, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Go to drawer and hit the menu button, there should be like a edit function

Go to your app drawer, change view to customizable grid, then edit, now just drag it down

I know if you long press the mic button on the Samsung keyboard, you can select the clipboard from the pop up thing. is there a way to access the clipboard from the Swype keyboard?? maybe a Swype-key shortcut?
thanks

Swype from the Swype key to c to copy and to v to paste, to a to select all, to backspace to put away the keyboard, to t to get number keyboard and to the symbol key to get editing keyboard

thanks... I knew about those, most of those, but no way to bring up the clipboard like on the Samsung keyboard?

I forgot about Swype-T That's a handy shortcut, thanks!
Another nice one: When the cursor is in a word, Swype-shift gives you capitalisation options.
I've definitely brought up the clipboard a few times accidentally when using Swype, I think when going from the Swype key. I dunno if it's a bug or 'undocumented feature'. Either way, I just wish I could choose when it appeared!

I have been looking for the smilies key on the Samsung keyboard. Did they actually leave that out (Koreans never smile) or am I just missing it?

I don't know but I would sure like to know where keyboard files are and how to mod them. I personally use Swype and would like to have the "enter" key back on certain apps instead of that smiley button. I guess opposite as you but same files to change, I'm sure.
also, the Samsung keyboard has a long-press button that brings up the clipboard. anyone know how to add that button to other keyboards???
thanks.

The Samsung keyboard is an odd bird. Like so much Samsung software it just feels like they got about 80% done, hit a deadline and just quit development.
Yes S-Notes i am looking at you.

If youre in text messages, hit the menu button and you can enter smileys. I agree about the keyboard lol
Hey,
I am using cm10 and I have google voice off..but whenever I am typing fast on the keyboard sometime google voice turns on by itself and my keyboard goes away..??
Does someone know how that happens or how to fix/avoid it?
Hmmmm. Maybe a bug? I have several languages on my keyboard and if I hold the world button it gives me an option to choose Google voice.

I always hit the microphone button beside the keyboard by accident while typing. You're probably doing the same.

Change the mic button to show up on symbols keyboard.
