I know if you long press the mic button on the Samsung keyboard, you can select the clipboard from the pop up thing. is there a way to access the clipboard from the Swype keyboard?? maybe a Swype-key shortcut?
thanks

Swype from the Swype key to c to copy and to v to paste, to a to select all, to backspace to put away the keyboard, to t to get number keyboard and to the symbol key to get editing keyboard

thanks... I knew about those, most of those, but no way to bring up the clipboard like on the Samsung keyboard?

I forgot about Swype-T That's a handy shortcut, thanks!
Another nice one: When the cursor is in a word, Swype-shift gives you capitalisation options.
I've definitely brought up the clipboard a few times accidentally when using Swype, I think when going from the Swype key. I dunno if it's a bug or 'undocumented feature'. Either way, I just wish I could choose when it appeared!

+1 if that doesn't work go to settings, language and keyboard and enable it.
I got an update last week and it added a menu option gor swype keyboard settings and and a swype tutorial to my keyboard settings.
Yet I cant seem to be able to enable the swype keyboard as its not an option for my input method.
Anybody else see this update? Or know how i can switch to swype?

Ok I feel like an idiot! As I finished that post I figured it out. Apparently you have to long press in the text input field and select "input method" and there you have it!

I have been looking for the smilies key on the Samsung keyboard. Did they actually leave that out (Koreans never smile) or am I just missing it?

I don't know but I would sure like to know where keyboard files are and how to mod them. I personally use Swype and would like to have the "enter" key back on certain apps instead of that smiley button. I guess opposite as you but same files to change, I'm sure.
also, the Samsung keyboard has a long-press button that brings up the clipboard. anyone know how to add that button to other keyboards???
thanks.

The Samsung keyboard is an odd bird. Like so much Samsung software it just feels like they got about 80% done, hit a deadline and just quit development.
Yes S-Notes i am looking at you.

If youre in text messages, hit the menu button and you can enter smileys. I agree about the keyboard lol
Is there a port of the Sense keyboard or is there another keyboard with arrow keys that aren't buried behind 3 layers of alt key switches? A lot of people think the arrow keys are a huge waste of screen but I frequently edit long posts, and it's maddening trying to position the cursor somewhere exactly before or after some specific letter by jabbing your finger and hoping it does't misinterpret what you wanted as highlighting, zooming, cut or paste or delete, etc...

Yeah, SwiftKey has a toggle for arrow keys in its settings. They take up a little extra real estate, but I like them

I've honestly never seen arrow keys in Android... lol
Except for when I had the epic 4g and that was a physical keyboard.
I guess you learn new things everyday

I think legacy features still come in handy now and then. If you don't have the finger precision of a child-laborer, text editing can be a hassle without those arrow keys

Yeah true..
Well at least the s pen adds a bit more precision.
But I rarely find myself actually using it
So are the arrow keys specific to htc legacy devices?
Maybe that's why I've never seen them... I've never owned anything htc
I've played with some htc devices...but when I did they didn't have sense for very long for me to see them
No, HTC just happened to include the arrows as a feature of the Sense keyboard. SwiftKey includes it as a theme option.

Thumb keyboard 4 has arrow keys that are resizeable. Hell the whole keyboard is customizable from the size to layout and theme, I just wish it had an option for the 5th row of numbers
I like to break stuff!
touchpal keyboard has an option to show them too
a.i. keyboard has both the number row and arrows

I use Kii and it had asked add the for bottom keys as well add the top number row. It also allows you to customize the background.

SwiftKey. The arrow keys are one of the best features

It may be me but, does anyone else have a tough time using the keyboard on this phone. It seems to me it doesnt respond well to the "key press" and I dont have fat fingers.
I just have issues with the autocorrect. Switched to stock Android keyboard and no more issues

I can't seem to get the handwriting to work. I take out the pen and switch to that when trying to write a response to a text message and it does nothing. I write the word and it doesn't translate it to text. It just sits there.
The handwriting aspect is bugged you need to uninstall the keyboard and reinstall it reboot device then it should work.
