Just noticed this - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

In the upper left hand corner of my status bar, the little box with a + in it, what is that? It doesn't show in notifications
And apparently I can't upload a screen shot anymore... wth?

Change the screen shot from png to jpg. Thats what I have to do to get it to upload.
Maybe be wrong, but airpush?

Tried it, its the app, it will only let me choose tapatalk hosted as an option then tells me to upgrade. I don't even have tapatalk lol

Maybe volume plus?

Have you installed a theme or game? I had Airpush ads on my phone once when I downloaded a ICS theme. I had both + and a star in my status bar.

I think I figured it out, it only seems to show up when apps are installed or updated. I'm thinking its the new backup feature to my single account.

Lmao that's normal! It just means there's more apps on the notification list that its not displaying at the top notification bar. What you want for it to keep pilling up and go past what your screen can hold? Just kiddin but yeah that's normal. You must be new to android that's been around since forever lol

Good thing it was a + and not an x, the x would mean crack rom rejection. .................. lol.

Do digitizers go out on these phones?

if you look at the bottom under my dock icons it started doing thus a couple days ago. Not sure if my digitizer is going but if i reboot it goes away.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
that looks to be a row of funky lookin pixels, which would be the screen, not the digitizer... the digitizer just registers touch input and does not actually display anything, it just is an overlay over the screen.... as to how to troubleshoot the problem I would grab LCD test from the market and go from there

Playing Sherlock Holmes here... but of it was a problem with the physical screen, I'd imagine it wouldn't show in a screen shot, which implies its something the app can actually capture. I'd try a different rom and see how it goes.
Just an idea

Dude crazy good logic, I was thinking he had a row of stuck pixels or something but you're 100% right, that'd not show up at all in the screencap, I also didn't notice it went away on reboot, I'm thinking that was an edit of the op

No. Wash your hands every once in awhile lol.
To stop using physical buttons completely, unlock the phone using the quick glance feature. As soon as it displays the time, swipe the screen to unlock if you're worried about wear and tear.

My buddy has the Note 2 on T-MOBILE and had these pink [email protected] on it not on outside of screen though. Wondering what is it and how it got there.

Really NO ONE AT ALL?
Its the tmobile my account icon. With that app your plan’s usage information will be updated once per day and display in your phone’s notification bar. The T-Mobile My Account icon will also display in your phone’s status bar until this feature is disabled.
To disable this feature, open the T-Mobile My Account app and select Menu > Options or deselect the check box located on the first screen of ‘What’s new in T-Mobile My Account’.

Honestly its hard to tell. But the screen facts: each amoled screen is made up with certain amount of chemicals and that pink spot might be from an excessive amount of one chemical or just a pressured pixel area. Either way it should be under warranty

I'm guessing by the Google Window. Is there a screen protector? Could be that, just do the screen test in *#0*# and see if it still appears. Otherwise, maybe he spilled some ink or something, I really doubt it's under the screen but anything is possible, in that case do a rma.

One thing abut the dialer that bothers me....

Is how I need to put in the area code before it will bring up contacts. Is there a way to auto populate the area code so I don't always have to???

The main thing that bothers me with the phone app is that you can't set which tab it opens when you open the app. I like going to my contact list first bc it has my favorites up top.

For me its easier than typing their number because I don't have anyone's phone numbers memorized anymore. Lulz.

True. I guess I just got so used to AOSP on the Rezound, going back to sense is just weird. I would love to run Infection or Tron on this phone!

Agreed about aosp. I've been running that and I'm used to it.
Guess I can always use a different dialer app.

After using the S4 for a bit. This dialer/contacts/people app is a godsend!
I installed exdialer and its pretty cool. I like the stock phone app but just hate having the always type the area code in before it will recommend contacts.

Don't you always dial area code anyways? Been that way for about 15 years for me lol. Then again I do suppose each area of the country is different.

On the aosp dialer and even the s4 dialer you can start to key in the phone number and matching contacts pull up.

Maybe your dialer is messed up then. Mine starts pulling contacts while typing in number. Or maybe I'm just not understanding.
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using xda app-developers app
The thing that bothers me is when I start typing in a contact's name or number, it only gives me one contact at a time at the top of the list, with a little box to the left of the input area with the rest of the matches.
Coming from the HTC Incredible, it used to show multiple suggestions at the top of the list.
I played with a ONE in Costco a couple days before I received mine in the mail and it had multiple contacts (though none had pics) up top.
Anyone know how to configure it that way? I've been trying to figure it out
I installed exdialer and its sweet!!
