SOLVED...Unroot-reroot question - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I seem to be having problems with the rooting from doom kernel v14. Can I safely unroot using the unroot app from market then reroot using zerg push? Currently running doom kernel and true ancestor 1.6
The problem is some of my apps say I don't have root even though I have allowed them with superuser.

Figured it out, found dooms unroot kit. Unrooted his kernel then rerooted with his zergrush via flashtool and presto. All smoothed out. No more root apps popping up contradicting messages.

Titanium? After 2.3.4 Update.

I'm trying to erase Bruce Lee, Crash Band, and Star batallion. Every time I try to un-install these apps it says can't find apk files. I was able to remove all the bloat and the other three games that came came pre-installed. I really need more MB on my play. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi!
You will find them: /System/app
I used Root Uninstaller Pro!
PLAY-ről Tapatalk 2-vel!
I used a root explorer app and manually deleted the apks. Worked without problems for me.

Cool was able to get rid of them. Thanks!

Yeah if You use Root Explorer and Delete it from sys/app it won't come back even if you factory reset your phone, did this and also used this method to remove excessive audio files...

[Q] Rooting sgh-t989 after ics update

can i root my sgh-t989 after i update to ics. will i still be able to use ics and just have the capabality to remove bloat and all root fucntions?
if you are a developer you probably can, but if aren't you have to wait for somebody to release rooted version of this rom
Since it isnt actually out yet, we dont know what will work to root with any certainty. You just have to wait.
thanks
I just got this update. Without realizing I updated it. Now i want root :/
D'oh! It will be out soon, we have excellent devs!

You can root the new ICS ROM
It is rooted via the same old method used to root the original stock rom. you can get all the files either here on this site or from galaxys2root.com. the root site has a youtube video if you need a step-by-step hand holding.

Before I root

So I am about to root my phone but first I have to flash the r800at to the older .270 update. Do I have to worry about breaking anything? Also once it is rooted what are some things I can do or add to my phone?
Bump. Can someone let me know if there is anything I need to do or be aware of?
If your bootloader is unlocked, you can flash a new kernel. Only with root you can install some custom roms
There is allways a chance to damage your phone when you flash something, but if you follow carefully the flash steps you have a high chance to root your phone without any problem

Yes I do have a locked bootloader. So instead should I flash a custon kernal then root? I was looking into doomkernel and that looks nice. Does it have some instructions for installing it safely? Also is that the best one for the AT&T version of this phone?
You MUST have a unlocked bootloader to flash a new kernel or you'll brick your phone

Oh my bad. So is really the only thing I can do is flash the .270 version and just rooting?
Yes. If you want to change the rom with a locked bootloader you need root acces

Do you recommend any good roms?

I only can talk abour my current rom, Gin2JellyBean.

Hiding root access?

I have Dixperia 2 rom with doomkernel and would like to do my barclays banking using there app! It requires a unrooted phone to work so my question is, is it possible to hide that I have root so the app works?

In Superuser there's a temp unroot option.

Why does it matter if its rooted or not? Does it detect it? And for an app to block root is a little pointless.

The barclays app will not install on a rooted device and exits as soon as it detects root access. Just tried the temp unroot option in superuser and can confirm to the OP the it works and the barclays app installs fine when using that option

I think they recommend it.
Btw why not try by myself?

ICS Rooting App?

Are there any apps similar to gingerbreak that will root my phone? I'm on ICS 4.0.4. I'm also very new to this.
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
No but there is flashing cwmr to your phone using odin3 1.85. Then either installing a rom already rooted or installing superuser 3.0 beta zipaligned and arm7 optimized (Google it) through cwmr
