ICS Rooting App? - Samsung Captivate Glide

Are there any apps similar to gingerbreak that will root my phone? I'm on ICS 4.0.4. I'm also very new to this.

No but there is flashing cwmr to your phone using odin3 1.85. Then either installing a rom already rooted or installing superuser 3.0 beta zipaligned and arm7 optimized (Google it) through cwmr

SOLVED...Unroot-reroot question

I seem to be having problems with the rooting from doom kernel v14. Can I safely unroot using the unroot app from market then reroot using zerg push? Currently running doom kernel and true ancestor 1.6
The problem is some of my apps say I don't have root even though I have allowed them with superuser.

Figured it out, found dooms unroot kit. Unrooted his kernel then rerooted with his zergrush via flashtool and presto. All smoothed out. No more root apps popping up contradicting messages.

Odin newb. ICS to jeallybean

In short: I want to go from rooted ics to rooted jellybean stock, while in between factory reset or whatever for no overlapping errors.
So the new jellybean update just released and I want to update to it. I'm rooted w/ wicked v7 ROM ICS. The only time I used Odin was when I rooted my phone through the toolkit. So I have the jellybean Odin file, how do I root and install costume recovery after? thx.
Edit: okay I done some more research, I find that I can just use the root66 odin method that already has root which if I remember correctly was the same method used in the toolkit for root? But its not out yet for jellybean. I guess I'll have to wait? I have no idea. I don't know.
Edit2: or wait. I could Odin to root66 ICS, use voodoo root keeper, and ota to jellybean?

Rootkerper or mobile odin pro sre your best options. Check my firmware thread for instructions.

Best way to install cwm?

I updated recently to root injected stock jb with Odin now I'm wanting to install cwm but mskips method doesn't include 4.1 yet so should I revert back to ICS stock to use mskips method or should I just use adB?

If you follow this thread it has the stock jelly bean rom with root injected into it i personally installed it and skipped to "step 3 alternate # 3" and installed teamwin recovery through goo manager and everything working fine and there is also a way to flash cwm but i found it easier to flash teamwin and some people say it's better than cwm but it's all personal preference

Once I tried TWRP I never looked back. As stated above, installation is very easy through goomanager, and there are a few TWRP themes posted in the theme forum.

where can i download the latest version of clockwork mod recovery?

i have version 5.0 and want to install cm10 on my phone.
Is there anything preventing you from installing ROM Manager from the Play Store to update your CWM? Or using the SG3 Toolbox that contains Odin & latest CWM Recovery?

[Q] S3 I747m 4.2.2 rooting

Hi,
I am new to Android flashing/rooting world.
I started with stock 4.1.2, rooted and flashed to miuiandroid .27 which brought me to 4.2.2
I am now trying to install Titanium Backup and it says it cant get root access.
Can I use the same SuperUser file to flash PDA using Odin that I used on 4.1.2 or do I need to root it with a different file (4.2.2 version) ?
I am using S3 I747m d2att.
Thanks in advance!
Flash latest SuperSU
