Hello guys, my problem is that on every rom I tested sometimes (there's no rule for it) my touchscreen stops working, it's looking like I was scrolling very slowly when I'm not. Solution is to lock screen and unlock again, so this isn't very important to fix but I just wanna know if I can do something with it or its for example low polish electricity sorry for my english.

It's original htc charger which I get wih phone.
Then it is going bad, ive had the same experience with bad chargers before with capacitive touch screens. I remember even seeing this on my g1 before. Just need to get a new charger

Hi all,
From the first day i have my device, while it is connected to charger, although i just use my one finger it feels like multitouch, so it zoom in or out screen. After disconnected charger, i firstly lock then unlock screen and after that i can use my device normally. It sometimes cause screen vibration with no multitouch supported softwares. But it actually can't let me use any browser while charging...
I though it was because of setcpu profile but it only has 1.2 ghz and i already have this clock speed between some battery levels. What problem should be with my device?

I think that the htc devices have a earth(? is it called this way in english? The negative pole of a battery?) problem.
They are the only devices who have a metallic battery cover which is connectet to the device itself. (Lock for the small pins)
I also have your effect sometimes, but when i touch with one hand the battery cover it's a bit better.
on my old hd2 it was the same, but even more worse...
Seems like a generell htc failure...
It is fairly common for devices to have problems with their touchscreens while charging. Not just HTC; I have the same problem with my Nook Color, and I had the same problem with my Motorola Cliq.
The most common theory I have heard is because the charger does not charge at a consistent rate, which messes up the capacitance that our touchscreens use. This is especially true with aftermarket chargers, but can sometimes even happen with the original ones.
The best thing to do is to try not to use your phone while charging, or spend the extra money and get only original (OEM) chargers.

You have it right. I think the full word you're thinking of is: ground
Though I would think and hope all devices have one. Of course having a capacitive screen there are more complicated issues to deal with since you still need to maintain a certain amount of static charge on the screen. Basically your body is used as the ground on a capacitive screen. Obviously the ground on some phones is interfering with that.
I was aexperiencing a similar problem. Whenever i would use the Mugen battery and the second i closed the back cover, the phone would switch off. if i let it a little open it would play normally. With the standard battery although it didnt behave as such. Weeeeeeirrrrddddd

what a strange! i can't even think to see any user who have the same problem with me This really made me suprised.. So does anyone have any solution for this issue? The most common solution is not to use our devices while it is charging

That was my solution. I charge my phone while I sleep, so I don't have to worry about it. I also have a charger at work, so I can "top up" the battery during the day, if I need to.
i found out touching the metallic part of the phone sometime cured the problem
While charging, i opened multitouch app and confirmed red and blue colors change to yellow and green sometimes...

well i would recommend u to play fifa with charging after ur HOX has been charged 50% & more as its more safe as with lower battery levels HOX becomes hot very fast while playing and charging at the same time
Due to the quality of the components used, some chargers can interfere with the touch screen when charging. I have two genuine HTC chargers, one has this problem while the other does not. I'd say the problem is with the charger, but just to be sure, did you have this problem with the same charger on the stock ROM ?
If you want more technical details about the problem take a look at this (page 4).
I used to have this problem. But it seems that after the latest ota the problem doesnt appear anymore. Same charger. Still completely stock.

Hey guys,
I have some weird issues with my XS and I don't know whether they are caused by software or hardware. Here's what bothers me:
Every time I connect something to my XS like the usb cable to charge it or transfer files, an hdmi cable or even headphones my phone gets totally unresponsive. The touch buttons respond after about the tenth press and even the screen is unresponsive as hell. If I scroll through the app drawer for example, my swipe gestures are often recognized as a press so that apps are launched although I made a fluid swipe gesture. On the other hand pressing on a screen to launch some app sometimes isn't recognized at all. If I plug out the whatever cable, everything's okay again.
So, what do you think? Is this a hardware or a software issue and what should I do now?
Some background information: I already tried a factory reset and such things. My phone software is stock ics (see signature).
Regards

Hmm i havent experienced that before. Try updating to .50 stock and see if it is still there. If it is try and roll back to gingerbread. This will tell you for sure if it is sofware or hardware.
I'll try that but if you say that you never experienced that before, hardware would be more suspicious.

Many people experienced this, i still have it.
They said its a touchscreen fault or something and its needs to get replaced by sony.

Are you planning to send it in? I mean I hate this bug and it bothers me a lot, but giving away my lovely phone for a while seems a bit cruel
Can I send it directly to Sony or do I have to send it back to my vendor (amazon)?

Guys I have the same problem. When connected to the official charger and USB cable the problem is minimal. However with a car charger or an auc jack/headphone the touchscreen is unusable.
I found this on talk.sonymobile.com (not allowed to post links as newbie.. so hIIp://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/50236

Re: Touch screen problem with Xperia S (LT26i) [ICS Problem?]
Hey diyotama,
The guys at Meteor Ireland that sold me the phone are sending it to Sony for repair today.
Thanks,
sobanek
PS. They've identified the problem as a battery problem (something with voltage) that's why when anything was plugged into the phone, the touch screen would lag - because it didn't have enough voltage for the touch screen, and therefore, it wouldn't recognise all my touches.
The problem is I've unlocked bootloader and flashed some roms, lately very satisfied with Slimbean. However there are some issues with flashing and warranties.
I wonder if sending in my phone for repairs would be wise. So I would like your advise.
Is the cause a battery related problem? Is this ROM related?
Send in the device or live with the results of flashing?
I still dislike this issue but I can live with it now.. I noticed that my touchscreen bugs mostly in the lower parts of the display. So I installed some framwork mods that allow to use my phone upside down (rotated 180° and onscreen buttons enabled). So in the end its not a big deal for me anymore because the most touches are performed in the lower section of the screen.
I also unlocked my bootloader lately. If you want to send you phone in you can relock it but maybe they find out what you've done. But in my opinion this is a clear hardware issue which hast nothing to do with unlocking or flashing. So I think they can't say that this is your fault.. Regarding the voltage theory: interesting theory but I don't think this is true.. As I said: my touchscreen works perfectly in the upper part while charging but not in the lower..
I had issues like this when I used a different charger.
Yeah thats right.. I found out that the original Sony charger delivers 1500 mA.. If my phone is connected to this charger, the effect is at least noticable.. But when I connect my phone to my 800 mA car charger, the phone feels absolutely unusable..
wut... I got tired of using a screen protector, so I took it off. Immediately I noticed the screen became unresponsive at times, and discovered it was the bottom part that was unresponsive (as @mister-g1 wrote). But it only happened when the charger or aux was connected . And then I re-applied the screen protector and the problem was completely gone! I can reproduce this in real time with the app "touch test" and record it if anyone is interested.
So it looks like I need to buy some new screen protectors..
Also, did anyone send their phone in for repair and got it fixed?
When the screen protector is altered, you must change it. Regarding that other problem, well...always use original chargers, headphones...etc. If along the way you did otherwise, well, that's the source of your problem. My advise is that from now on you must use only original chargers/headphones/etc and your phone will adapt back, it may take a while but it will do it.
TIP : Try plugging in the headphones while the screen is off. See what happens when you turn it on.
Best of luck.

I should be able to use it without screen protector.. Anyway I bought 6x screen protectors, so I have enough for a while The problem occurs with original charger and headphones, and when I plug it in when the screen is off. And even though I have used my N7 charger, that should not be a problem.

Same here.. I always used the original charger and the problem was always present.. And using another charger shouldn't be a big deal.. Thats definately a hardware issue.. Think of the yellow tint screens and so on.. Sony does not always deliver the best screens.. The Xperia SP has similar problems like shown in this video:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/05/17/some-xperia-sp-units-suffering-from-display-glitch/
Exact the same thing happens if I try drawing linesa while charging..
My hox is on stock jb 4.1 and while charging the screen doesn't works properly.there is no problem when unplugged.could anyone help me on this problem.

Some HOX's have this problem. Its more common than people think, just not many use it whilst charging.
Its not native to the HOX either, HD2's, Titans, Xperia's etc have all had issues reported about this sort of problem.
Quick question: Are you using:
Original Charger?
Original Cable?

Yeah, most people when charging either go to sleep or charge it whilst doing something else such as a Bath Etc.
Hense why most don't notice these issues.
Quick question, do you know if I am right in thinking its do with how the charger grounds(earths) the phone?
Its not due to grounding, the charger has no ground wire. The phone is double isolated (ip44) I think it has more to do with the fact that the phone is more busy with concentrating on the charging and controlling that process. Hence why the digitizer might get a bit less voltage and doesn't respond as good as without the charger.
This is totally my own logical explanation, not saying its 100% correct but i can't think of another reason atm.....

Pretty sure there is more than one digitizer which would explain why some have issues and some don't.

For me this happens on HD2, Sensation, OneX, only on one particular wall socket regardless of whether phone is being charged directly via HTC charger or from usb port of laptop. as long as laptop charger or htc charger is connected to that wall socket touchscreen on all above phones goes crazy.
Hi!
I'm italian and I hope u understand me ...
I've a little problem regarding touch, I don't know if it is a bug or hardware issue.
So, when I scroll a page, (by Facebook app, Twitter app or simply Chrome) and I do not take off my finger, there is a little flickering (up and down).
I remember that this happened with my GS2 when it was in charge but in that case was normal.
This problem also happens to you ?
Thank you
Also happens to me while charging. It's a common problem with chargers which do not produce consistent power
