the last build that i can confirm that i get bluetooth audio working is 9/4. 9/6 it hasn't worked or any more recent builds. tried a recent aokp build and that isn't working either. supposed to be a workaround here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879314. tried doing it through twrp but it doesn't stick.
fixed it
used rom tb-pro. found zip file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879314&page=2, extracted, deleted existing audio_policy.conf and copied new one. set permissions to -rw-rw-r. rebooted and it works
But call audio comes through speaker no?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
it goes through your bluetooth
I'm talking about call audio. When you're talking on the phone with someone and you are not connected to any bt devices. The call audio will go through your speaker. This was discussed in the other threads

Nvm the linked threads even says calls go through speaker phone
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
working for me
if i don't have bt connected calls default to ear. i can toggle to speaker and back without a problem, with wired earpiece it will output it there. if i have bt connected, i can toggle between ear, speaker and bt. media works on earphone jack, speaker and bt.
Guess it doesn't work for aokp then

I'm on erickwill's CM10 9/12 nightly and I can confirm that this mod works, A2DP is fixed and when not on BT the phone calls go through the headset like normal.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone else could reproduce an issue I was having with my phone. While listening to music thru headphones if I make or receive a call after hanging up audio doesn't return right away. It takes a lil while and it then comes back. I can reproduce this over and over again. Was wondering if it was just my phone.

Anyone willing to test. Any carrier.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Mine works... But maybe you can define "a while"
I know what he means it will not playing again until a minute or so
Which app are you using to play the music. And or is there any other music player app also alive in memory,

Thanks guys for the assistance. I use poweramp. But I can reproduce it with the stock music player also. Music playing > make or receive call and music pauses like it should> I hang up> music does not resume and I can't hear any sounds from the phone at all for at least 15secs. I only use one music player at a time so only one should be in memory.

Anyone else this morning. Any help is appreciated and thanked. Just making sure this behavior is common before I return the phone.

This is what i do i talk through my car speakers and or headphones pending what im using i unhook right before i hang up let the audio play through the phone speaker then reconnect it again its annoying but it works
Also i use poweramp and it has this problem even though poweramp has a setting to resume call
Thanks man. I've been experiencing this issue since I bought the phone. And it doesnt matter the ROM rather its stock, blazer, or cm10. Its the same issue.

Hey master acehole. I think I found a lil fix. Thru power amp settings and headset settings I raised the headset handler priority. The sound loss stopped. Thanks for all of ur help bro.

Damn. The issue returned. I'm at a. Complete loss. Is anyone other than me and ace hole having this issue.

Having the same issue
I'm having the same issue on my S3 running poweramp, though I'm not on Sprint (got it unlocked, international).
The only differences:
- I'm using a bluetooth headset
- The song resume's but there's no audio from the headset at all (not even after 5, 10 minutes - however long)
- I have to turn bluetooth off/on to get the audio back
I also tried using the stock player with the same results!
Would love to know if it's a problem with the phone, app or headset.
Thanks
Exact same issue here. Must be a samsung thing because many people are having it across ROMs and music players, so annoying! Anyone find a fix yet?
I can verify this as well.
Happens with Amazon MP3, Stitcher Radio and Audible for me.
The delay for me is at least 1 minute, but if you close the audio app and reopen it, then everything is fine (so it can work before the 1 minute).
Try Monkey Media player
Try monkey media player, I had the same issue with my S3, but with Monkey media it got resolved. just an FYI you had to play with settings
I'm looking for a fix for in call Bluetooth audio for devices that don't have a2dp. I've used the fixes out their they help but still terrible but Usable and they are listed as a2dp fixes and most my devices are not a2dp. Any help is appreciated.

Try using Volume+ app
Doesn't seem to help. The problem I have is the in call audio is fluctuating up and down, making it unusable as I can't hear the other party when it's in the down swing. I guess I'll have to settle for a4.1 ROM or wait till Google gets their Bluetooth together.

For the sake of Pete you would think in 2013 this would work.
Okay, before Jelly Bean I downloaded Headset Controls app and it worked okay. But, I can't get it to do anything now since the update. I don't even see why I would need an app to get this to work.
With my headset plugged in if I do a single click it opens my phone app. The long press opens Google Now(which is fine). With the screen off it doesn't do anything. This is all while playing music from the stock app and Google Music. All I care about doing is skipping tracks and pausing. I hate riding my bike or jogging and stopping to pull out my phone everytime I want to skip a song or pause the music.
I have looked all over the phone in settings, music setting, and google now settings to try and find a way to enable single button music controls. I have tried freezing the apps in Titanium Backup. And as I previously stated, Headset Controls app doesn't work at all now.
I use wireless bluetooth sometimes but the sound is just never as good as wired headsets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm having the same problem where it opens up the phone app except I use power amp. Power amp button settings won't work and neither will my klipsch button settings the klipsch app says playermediabuttonreceiver is interfering with the app I'm just not sure how do disable it

Any idea? it's a pain not being able to switch tracks on a motorcycle
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
No, I wish I had an idea. I even emailed the developer of an app I was using and he had no idea. I feel your pain. My motorcycle is the exact reason this is causing me grief. It might be reason enough for me to switch phones.
If there was one person who hates driving on the planet I am that guy. I rode a bicycle home this morning. I own a golf cart, motorcycle, scooter, and bike. The car is for groceries, kids, ice, and snow...that's it.
So, anyone out there got a solution.

Lol, I was going to suggest trying the Headset Button Controller from the Play store, but I see you already tried it and left a comment stating that it doesn't work on our phone. Using a bit of google-fu, I found thispost on the Android subreddit that requires you to modify a few system files, but I'm unable to try it out as I'm at work right now. Seeing as how you already bought the Headset Button Controller, perhaps you could try it out and report back?
Can't, I am at class. Then I have surgery rotation on the morning.

Fixed! Those permissions got me the fix works perfectly thanks for the link
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for testing it out! I'm about to do the fix and as I'm looking in my system/usr/keylayout folder, I see the generic.kl file but I don't seem to have a sec_jack.kl file. Did you have both files? Did you only alter the generic.kl file?
EDIT: Argh, I went ahead and tried altering just the generic.kl file and am having the same power button issue you were having. What permissions did you change to fix that?
I am a bit confused on what the fix posted above does.

Hey guys, I went to the regular OG forums for help. They might know something we don't. Either that or they will be like "sucks to be you cause mine works fine". We will have to wait and see.

Hi,
I'm currently using ARHD21 rom. I've noticed that the recording volume using my Bluetooth headset is very low.
I'm using BTmono app to route the Mic so it will record from Bluetooth headset.
I've tried with Jabra Supreme, Jabra Sports, i-tech voice clip 609s, and Samsung's Bluetooth. Using with apps like Voxer, Palringo, WeChat and the free voice recorder.
All resulted in volume at least 40% lower then other android phone. Tried all the same headset, on Samsung S3 and a Samsung knock off android phone.
Recording from phones built in Mic and wired headset is ok though..
Need help, I'm literally shouting to get my voice heard when using Palringo with my friends. Out of 52 online I'm always the one with the lowest volume.

Oh btw, I tried using the old ARHD ICS rom, same results. Have not tried switching to stock.
I'm the only guy in my group using htc phone, so could not compare.
Only PTT app I use that yielded same volume level is Zello but had to set the recording amplifier within the app to max.
Even iPhone users on Bluetooth had louder volume.

You ask a ROM specific issue by opening a whole new topic in Q&A??
and by the way... Recording has always been average to me via bluetooth...

Not really ROM specific, just stated ROM I'm using.. Think it's one x specific
I doubt it has anything to do with the ROM

I know a lot are having audio issues when making or receiving a call for whatever reason on 4.3 ROMs, well a workaround I found is you need to plug in your headphones in and use those, or once the call is connected unplug headphones and you'll retain call audio
