My vibration not working on any rom. Is it kernel problem or hardware problem? Does anyone experienced it? My phone had a water damage 5 months ago and caused my volume button not working. And now after a long 5months the vibration is not working. Please anyone help me. My warranty period is over.

I think it's a hardware related problem. Go to a GSM service and find out what is causing VIBRATION problems

I think I'm going to give up on this phone because the volume button is already broken. Now it don't vibrate. I'm not going to waste my money on it.

Hello all. I am seeking help in trying to rid of a reboot bug that has been plaguing me for almost a month. I am not sure if this is a hardware bug or a software bug, but I had never encountered this problem before. I bought my phone two weeks after launch day.
Ok, first of all, I was on CM9 Alpha 4 for a week when my phone started rebooting itself at random times. Also, if I pressed on the power button to lock my phone, it would instead bring up the power menu. If I pressed the power button again it would reboot or reboot 1 minute later. I was getting more than 5 random reboots a day which affected my battery life drastically. Thinking this was a software issue, I used sfhubs EG30 full restore one click to go back to stock. Unfortunately, the bug still remained and my phone still had these same problems. I flashed Calkulins EL29 rom, and Blazer rom as well but the reboot bug still remains. Has anyone else experienced this or do you think this is a hardware issue? Any help would be appreciated.
By the sounds of if you might have a problem with the hardware power button
That can explain the reboots, your device might be hard rebooting because it thinks the power button is pressed in.
Any warranty on it?

That's what I had in mind, thanks. Yes, I have TEP. Will I have to pay for a replacement phone?

I had random reboots because of kernel, dont know about the power button. Try to ask on xda.

That's where he is . Lol but he tried many different roms all of which gave him the same problem, so I think its hardware related.

Had the same issue with another phone, stuck power button can be really annoying. Just making sure though...do you have a full body case on the phone? I did that once and my case was actually depressing my power button when I squeezed the sides of it!! Just something to check.
If you decide to get a replacement, consider using the factory warranty vs TEP. I think TEP has a high deductible. Bringing it to the Sprint store so they can do the warranty for you should cost about $35. Ask about turnaround time also.

I have tried different roms and all the same problem. The phone acts like its charging but its not and the screen awakes and turning off the screen a number of times. I have tried different kernels and roms. with installing the different roms in wipe data/cashe everytime, Im kinda lost on what to do to fix this issue cause its killing my battery life. right now im on Affinity rom 1.0.1 prevous i was cm10 nightly, before that vicious. any suggestions would help me out!!

Unfortunetly it is a hardware problem because I dropped my phone last month and the screen was turning on automaticly so I sent it to samsung to repair it.
It happened on my s2 and so I sold it.

even with the screen like that, you can try to connect it to the pc to unroot through adb, and if that doesnt work try flashing stock images with fastboot before sending it in
if none work, just send it like that to samsung or whoever

Its an hardware issue brother. Try using a toothpick or any small pin to lift the middle part inside the charging port. Do it only of ur phone is not under warranty. Or else just ask for a replacement. The google/samsung guys have acknowledged this problem and m sure u wont have any problem in getting a replacement.
And in the meanwhile use only the stock charger which came with the phone. Do not switch between the usb cables. Hope it helps

Happened to me also! But I also moved to pin and it's fixed now! Definitely not a rooting problem.
Hello,
The vibrate motor has broken on my galaxy nexus and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction to buy a new one and replace it?
I know its the motor as I have tried a number of roms and not one of them make the vibrate function work. Also the phone doesnt vibrate when it has been restarted, nor in the recovered.
Any chance you could just return your device for warranty repair, or a swap out if you are with one of the big 4 carriers (Vzw, ATT, Tmobile, sprint)?

I cant be bothered with all the aggro of putting stock rom back on the forum before I send it back. Also the case has a couple of bumps on it, so they will just blame the problem on that. Id rather fix it myself :cyclops:

This place does not stock the vibrate module.
Could somebody recommend anywhere else?

any luck? my gf's Gnex is making an odd buzzing sound like a card stuck in a fan whenever her vibrate motor turns on. looking to replace hers as well. all I can find are full loud speaker assemblies on eBay that I hope have vibrate motors attached.
nope it seems to be broken. I took my past apart last week to fix another problem with the speakers. But decided that replacing the motor was going to be easy. So looked online for the parts, but cant find them anywhere
Reckon this motor will work? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Keypad-Fl...K_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4abf847c50
Might buy it just to try out. Looks the same kinda size
My note2 reboots when i drop it from small distances like 5 cm or 10.I think that shouldnt happen and i need help for it.Thanks to any answers
The only reason I could see this not being a hardware issue that you would have to go to a service center to fix, is if some peculiar bug with the motion sensor causes the phone to reboot.

if you haven't done so already, open the back cover and take the battery out and then put everything back. mines was doing that for a few days after that it stopped, but I'm always trying crap on my phone so could've been something else.

I think that i have the same problem but I noticed its caused by viber..so basically Exit from viber (by pressing exit button not exiting through home button or back key) than restart your device and its Boom its gone (not forever but for a long time..lol) mine happens once a week so I'm happy with that

Either you have a hardware issue, in which case claim warranty. Or just do a clean wipe and restart. Are you rooted?
Because that's a silly reason to switch phones. I totally get if you need to upgrade to some other phone - but if this is your sole reason, explore other options before you do.
This failure of screen to come back after a call has been reported by others. I doubt it's hardware.

If it's software, it's defo fixable. I haven't faced this issue on any ROM/Kernel combo I've tried thus far.
Okay scratch that, I did face it once on X Note IIRC. Did a full wipe and everything works well to date.
