Cool. But if you are in a Family account, it is 179.

Also for those thinking about getting it and then paying to get out of contract, Amazon also charges a fee if the account isn't kept open with a data plan on it for however long they require.

180 days last time I looked.

Where did you see this information. I just ordered this. I will be getting it Thursday. But I wanted to buy my phone and then later a few months or more after saving up. I wanted to buy out of my contract and keep the phone. If that makes any since.

Question about the $100 Rebate on AT&T

Wasn't AT&T offering a separate $100 rebate to NEW subscribers before Nokia started offering their own $100 credit towards the Lumia 900? I'm gonna go ask today but I was wondering since I'm a new customer would I still qualify for that first rebate?

I some regions there were different rebate offers. I saw the phone listed as 199 with a 100 rebate. Others saw the same thing as only 99 with no rebate.
So, it all depends on where you actually were when you saw it....

The way I understand it is that a rebate has no bearing on the credit. Whatever price you paid for your phone after rebates, etc is the price. The $100 credit is for the data connectivity issue alone.
Example, you paid $99.00 on Amazon after rebate, you still get $100 credit on your ATT bill. Don't confuse the two.
Hope it helps.

Yea this is exactly what the rep told me. The rebate from AT&T makes the phone 99$ and then the Nokia credit makes it free...although they don't tell you it's an immediate discount, it actually applies to your first bill. You still have to pay for the phone that day.
I paid 20 for it on amazon. I confirmed that I will get 100 dollar credit. So ATT is paying me 80 dollars with this phone....awesomeness

That's awesome. I got the phone for $50 from a New England corporate store, so wondering if I will be getting the full $100... sounds good so far..
But on the other hand.. I think I am returning the phone to go back to Android... I wonder if they will remove the credit?
I bought 3 of them at my local AT&T store and was offered a $100 bill credit as well as $100 in free accessories for each phone.
I got my phone on the 21st without knowing about the $100 credit. I got the phone from best buy mobile and I got a $50
Instant rebate so after the credit I'll be up!!!! Awesomeness

FYI, $100 credit now showed up on my AT&T account. I bought the phone 4/9.
Same. I preordered and bought my wifes on launch day and both were credited a day ago.
Can you please tell me where do you see this credit? My first month's balance was due 4 days ago (haven't paid it yet since I have a few days before my 30 days expire and I get to decide whether to keep or return the phone). That balance definitely doesn't show any kind of adjustment because of the credit.

If you have a Lumia 900 you should have the myAT&T app. Login with that and it will show you your balance in the opening screen. Mine is $ (100.00). In other words negative one hundred dollars. I bought my phone about ten days ago.
My credits (3 of them) showed up on my account already. Bought the phones about a week and a half ago.
Got mine too, but again, I wonder what will happen when I return the phone next week?
Oh and just an FYI, both phones got a text a few hours apart stating the credit was forthcoming but could take up to 60 days so I dunno if you will get it until you get the text?!
I never received a text message regarding the credit, but it is already on my account.
I have had my phone for 3 weeks and have no credit showing on my account, should I be concerned?

Where to buy brand new.

Does anyone know a place to buy this phone Brand New straight out of the box thats not from the TMobile store since its $600 plus tax. Any preferably trusted place online or so? Not looking to upgrade just buy phone straight up.
I think tmobile is actually the best bc they give you like an 80 dollar discount for being a customer. I think its usually $679.99. Bestbuy probably sells it

I believe T-Mobile store has the S4 (M919) for $579+tx.
$0 down as of a couple of days ago, last I checked.
To save a few dollars and purchase it on eBay, craigs list and similar is not worth the potential pitfalls imo

I worked the system a bit when I bought mine...
I bought on contract at Best buy for $200 (they price matched Costco) and then I cancelled the contract as soon as I got the phone in hand (they had to ship it to me). I happily paid my $200 etf on the next bill and now have the value plan pricing as well.
Maybe not the most kosher way of doing things but it worked...

I was afraid you might do that...
I did absolutely nothing wrong though... I bought it legitimately with a contract and then paid my etf fee legitimately as well. Everything was completely on the up and up.
Honestly though... I had best buy gift cards and I wasn't about to spend the $700 or something crazy to buy it off contract from Best Buy so they forced me to do it this way.

Hey, they got their $400 as per the contract.
So, if you left early and paid the etf, you're outta contract and free to do what you do.

LOL! I love it. I thought you meant you were deleting MY post.
On the Best Buy note though, I hate how with some phones they feel the need to charge well above MSRP and others they sell for less than what the carriers charge for them. VERY odd business model if you ask me.
Their "Best Buy Mobile" store would do the price match but when talking to the big Best Buy they said "we don't price match contract phones". Another odd business decision.
Nah, I can only delete my posts.

The only problem with that is if the phone breaks later you are out $530.
T Mobile won't replace it under the standard warranty.
For the extra $70 to buy a new one from T Mobile I like the protection, especally since mine already failed and had to be replaced.
Just something to consider. Now if you found an absolute steal and got it for $300 I'd be all over that and would take the risk. But for a small savings? Consider the down side.

Black Friday Deals?

Does anybody have any dirt on black friday deals? I'm looking to switch to T-Mobile with the Note 3, I almost pulled the trigger yesterday but decided there will probably be something for black friday. But then again, it looks like a lot of black friday ads are already out... I'm not seeing much for T-Mobile. THX!
Check tmo-news.com and amazon, there most likely to have the best news and deals as black Friday approaches.

That's because T-Mobile doesn't subsidize phones anymore. There's no incentive for Amazon, Best Buy, etc., to sell T-Mobile phones.

T-Mobile is going to have something for Black Friday We just don't know what it is yet. I work in a Corp Store as a RSA and the Stores new Customer Act goal that day is double what a normal day is so there is something just no clue yet. Geez it's killing me. I could go and get it tomorrow, but I have to pay the $200. So I missed the $0 down and it's still unclear if/what there will be for black friday..
What happens if I buy it this friday (11/15) and later find out that there is a $0 sale or something. Will they honor it? I'll be within 14 days.

You can return it but there is a $50 restocking fee that will not get waved because of not knowing about the sell. Even if you buy it the day before a sale T-Mobile doesn't care. Its your fault for not waiting. Most likely it is a $0 down sale. Maybe something else but not sure at this point. If $200 is to much up front for u, I would wait it out.
Theres a Tmobile MGR on slick deals who just set me up with 0 down, and gave me $150 port credit x2 for my lines.. 2x Note 3..

It doesn't matter the system charges it, yes a manger can remove it but you have you get the manger to do that. Only way that is going to happen is if you say buy the phone the day before then come back and play dumb. If you buy the phone weeks before the sale you will be out of luck. You might as well wait. It isn't like 2 more weeks is going to kill you.
I just returned from the store - not even a penny off
$704 + local tax gonna kill me! $199 deal does not save anything - you are still in for the full amount just stretched for 2 years.
BTW all T-Mobile phones are made in China, AT&T version phones are made in Korea - how come?
Ya, $0 down isn't really a black Friday deal- its just paying full retail over the 24 months. I just as soon pay $200 up front and have them discount the price by $100-$150.
$0 for the Note 3 is like what- $29.50 a month. I don't know if the whole no longer subsidizing phones for a 2 year agreement thing is really a benefit to customers. Maybe the model would have worked well a few years ago when prices for the top end phones hovered around the $500 mark. Not to mention that, before they were subsidized this wasn't a source for revenue, because it's not like they are turning around and selling it to us at their cost or say cost +5%. You are essentially getting still locked in to 2 years to pay it off, so you can't get a new phone faster with paying quite a bit more with Jump, and your looking at $25-30 a month added on for their top end phones, plus $10 a month for jump, and if you do upgrade early you have to again put down $200 or so up front, your 24 month payoff cycle starts all over, and you have to turn in your previous phone so you can't sell that to cover a good chunk of the cost.
Add that all up and your right back at the monthly cost of the higher tier ATT and Verizon plans easily.

If you actually keep the phone for 2 years you aren't saving anything. But if you trade it after 6 or 12 months you are saving money. As to whether JUMP is worth it is another topic. I get my phones insured, so $2 extra is worth it to me for JUMP.

So here's how you save money:
$200 down + $21 per month x 6 months = $326
$0 down + $29.50 per month x 6 months = $177
$200 down + $21 per month x 12 months = $452
$0 down + $29.50 per month x 12 months = $354

The main problem with those expensive new gadgets is that they are getting obsolete fast!
I'm sure Note 4 or 5 is already in works and is due around Spring-Summer of 2014.
By that time you'd still have to pay for your obsolete Note 3 for 1.5 more years.
The only money-saving option is to buy previous-generations devices (Note 2 in our case). Not only it's "fully researched" but it's also dirt cheap. Is it attractive - I don't think so...
I don't see where the calculations came from and how you save the money, as of this moment it's:
$200 down + $21 per month x 24 months = $704 EVEN STEVEN
No interest for 24 months is the only benefit.

Maybe I wasn't clear. The idea is that if you plan to trade in your device after 6 months or 12 months there is a savings to be had with the $0 offer. So my calculations were the amount of money spent on the device after 6 months and after 12 months.
So for example lets just say you want to trade in your Note 3 for a Note 4 twelve months from now.
With the $200 down option you would pay as follows:
$200 down + $21 per month for 12 months = $452 spent on the phone after 12 months. Then you trade it for a Note 4 and start the process over
vs
$0 down + $29.50 per month for 12 months = $354 spent on the phone after 12 months. Then you trade it for a Note 4 and start the process over, except you spent $98 less

They Changed The Jump! Program?

I talked to T-Mobile and they say they don't offer the 6 months trade in option anymore. Now you have to have half the phone paid off before you can trade in! WTF?

Yeah I was about to join Jump to get a S5 then move to another device in the Fall/Winter. Now They charge $660 for the phone and the payments are $27.50 a month, so after 6 months I'd still owe almost $500. It would take over a year to get it to half what the phone costs. Then they only wanted to offer me $165 for my S4 lol. Jump was a good deal for those who got grandfathered in, but I'm never joining it now. I'll continue to buy my phones outright off Craigslist.

Yeah, I've been with T-Mobile since January 2013. I buy phones outright too. This year we went with S4s and they only offered $50 for our S2s. My oldest son now has my S2. You can't get an S2 in as good a shape as mine is off of Ebay for $50 and that's all they offered? Then go look and see how much an S2 refurbished sells for off T-Mobile. I love my S4 but if I upgrade either a family member will get it or I'll sell it myself.

I had pre-ordered mine from them, went on the 17th to pick it up (called ahead to confirm) and they told me that mine wasn't there yet, that I had to wait, maybe a few days... I told them that was BS, what was the point of pre-ordering then? So I cancelled my pre-order, got even a refund for the $50 gift card they made me buy for it, went to the AT&T store next door where they had plenty of them, so I bought one.

I was lured in by the promise of the $200 for any working smartphone, now I'm playing the endless waiting game for Best Buy to get their act together and deliver on a "pre-order". I do know, this will be the last purchase I ever make from them, I'm using all my gift cards on this and cutting ties for good. Their lack of any clue as to when something will be delivered was the last straw.

I do know, this will be the last purchase I ever make from them, I'm using all my gift cards on this and cutting ties for good. Their lack of any clue as to when something will be delivered was the last straw.

BBY is already downhill. They are clinging from the brink of irrelevance.

Good, they run such a poor business, I won't be sad to see them leave the marketplace.

Yeah that's exactly what lured me in too, but their incompetence pissed me off and I cancelled the pre-order. I used Samsung's own promotion to get $200, which I'm still processing to get a mail in rebate, hopefully it will work! I already got $100 for my old phone so it's not that bad

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm going to buy a phone for $20 to trade towards my phone for an immediate $200 card to go towards my Note 4 and then be able to keep my Note 2 to be able to sell outright, I would cancel and walk too. Just the money for any working smartphone has me staying for one last purchase from Best Buy.
Good to know I'm not the only one.

Yeah just watch that the phone you trade in had to have a minimum of $10 trade in value, you can check how much it is on their website

The Samsung trade in said $10 minimum trade in, the Best Buy offer was any working smartphone. Basically if it pulls up in their system, it counts. I'm just going to buy a prepaid smartphone they have for $20, won't even take it out of the box.

Trust me, if it wasn't for that little perk, I would have said bye bye to Best Buy already. I'm almost over the fact I will be making money on this upgrade because it is taking so long.

Hang in there, the note 4 is totally worth it!
Still waiting on a black note 4, ordered in CT. ordered on 10-13. Garbage waiting this long, but $200 for an iPhone 3G, I can live with my Note 3 for now. Plus, the accessories market can work itself out. Still hate that I have no idea when the phone is coming and I was told it was supposed to be here on the 17th.
That sucks...my buddy pre-ordered his from att, but the shipping was all messed up. Sat in TX for a bit, then his tracking information noted a truck broke down and caused another day delay. I guess I got lucky with Best Buy. Went to my pre-order store and waited for probably 25 mins before sitting with someone. She asked if I had a trade-in and I gave her my Moto Atrix. It was barely running. Wifi/GPS didn't work, it was tired. She turned it on and gave me a look when it said "unlocked" when booting. Turned on and got the 200 credit. Got my phone 25 mins after and away I went. BB does suck overall though. Good luck!
