App Drawer Delay - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I've done a search and couldn't see anything so if I missed it sorry... But I'm running CM 9.1 Nova Launcher, I'm experiencing a 3 to 7 second delay when I press the app drawer. Is this a common coinsurance and if so is there a fix?

Change launchers. See which one works better.

Is it just my phone?

Hello xda,
I have tried all the roms for the nexus, but i have the same lag problem whit all the roms. Now im running the aokp b 30 and it runs smooth, but i have the same lag in the app drawer like i have in every other roms i have tried. It is very laggy when im scrolling, from the last app page to the first widget page. I have 3 pages whit apps, and when i scroll thrue them its is very smooth, but just not when i scroll from the last app page to the widget page. Am i the only one that have that lag?
Sorry for my bad english. I hope you guys know what i mean

Maybe try a modded ICS launcher like Nova or Apex? Both are really good. Your app drawer will be really smooth if you use Apex and go to Apex Settings --> Drawer Settings --> Uncheck Join drawer tabs, uncheck Elastic scrolling, and set Minimum scrolling time to ~20.

Sluggish/ Choppy ROM

I am currently using Freegsm r6 with trinity 46G kernel on my Galaxy s3 tmobile. I've been using using the rom for my daily for about a month now. I feel the rom is running a little choppy and sluggish. say if I were in an app or even my messages, I click the home button and it'll take me to my home screen. on my homescreen, I have the weather and Google search widget. 4 out of 5 times when I press my home button, my two widgets act like they are refreshing--like they are loading up. i don't have alot of things running and i even close out tasks and tried it.. even OC'ed to 1700Mhz, it does that. also, messages and email freezes quite a bit and crashes. Is there a solution for this? my searches aren't giving me any answers.
Stock rom has redraw issues going into home screen too.

thanks for the vocabulary. I see you're on the freegsm R6 with the trinity kernel as well. are you having the same that redraw issue?
Every stock based rom i use has that issue.
Using Nova Launcher always seemed to minimize launcher redraws for me. I also use Holo Launcher which has an option to keep the launcher in memory.

Launcher with drawer sorting (not apex)?

I was wondering what other launchers there were out there that can sort the app drawer by install date (descending, system apps first) other than apex. Ive used apex for a while now and switched the holo launcher HD because I noticed it was much smoother and snappier. The only thing I dislike about holo launcher is no option to sort app drawer (other than alpha asc). I've been searching around Google but I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I noticed trebuchet (packaged with cm10) will sort by install date descending but when I backed it up via tb and tried it on my ROM (aokp) it would only sort by install date ascending (putting system apps last). Anyone know why this is?
And are there any other launchers that are small, light, and fast like holo launcher that will sort drawer by install date descending?
Edit: I know this sounds picky but the aosp based ROMs are becoming extremely smooth and I'd like to actually have a launcher that takes advantage of it.
Nova might do what you want.

Nova doesn't have drawer sorting. Thanks for the reply though
It doesn't do sorting but it has a function to display new apps.
Click on the apps icon

Old, slower than APEX
there is no known launcher to this day exept from apex and go that can sort the app drawer by date. i'm guessing holo or nova might be the first ones apart from apex and go to introduce it. i would suggest checking out holo regularly because its great and it's fast as crap too

[REQ] A launcher manager app that.... (please read on)

hello
I have a got 5 launchers installed with different looks and feels for different moods and situations.
I keep changing them very frequently.
But when i change a launcher, the previous one keeps running in background and i have to kill it manually. So we i change launchers almost every hour, this has become irritating for me. So can anyone please tell me a home switcher app that can kill previous launcher automatically when I switch to another one?
I searched some but they simply switch launchers and don't kill previous ones.
Also, on switching launcher, my wallpaper changes of switched launcher to that of previous launcher, how to fix it except manually changing wallpaper again.

Cmon man! I don't change exactly every hour. I have my own reasons (don't think that way, I am a clean teen).
Btw its sad to know that i will have to do manual stuff.
Try "Home Chooser Flow"
How about next launcher 3d done by Go launcher team? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gtp.nextlauncher

"home control" is the only launcher chooser that sticks to notification bar after reboot.
And why do not use only one launcher with many theme ??
Switching will be easier and clean each time ^^
And if you want to know how to make your theme xda and his powerful search tool will be you friend

Task Switcher button issue

Hi
When I press the task switcher button from the Android bar. Once every a few times... It doesn't work. The button is pressed (I can see the white animation) but it doesn't do anything . I think it's only happening when I am on the launcher home page. not in an app.
Is it something with Kitkat or I am the only one with this problem?
I just have to alternate between the home button and the task switcher a few times and the issue is there...
I am on stock with Nova launcher but I have the same issue with the stock launcher too.
Any idea?
