Whitehawkx aokp - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

**i am just the middleman**
Aokp is built from AOSP, the squeaky clean bloat-free base of googles Linux-based OS. Team kang is the main group who deserves credit, including romanb and whitehawkx to name just a couple members.
Arguably the best feature of this Rom is the 'rom control' menu found in the settings, which allows customization of the status bar, toggles, power menu, and many other things. There is also a built in cpu control which allows control over speed, scheduler, etc.
As with any custom Rom, bugs may be present and i nor XDA,or any member herein, will not be held liable for anything that happens to your phone as a result of you flashing this rom. (Including but not limited to nuclear warfare).

By cleaner I mean more detailed (as stupid as that sounds, lol). The title is just "Whitehawkx aokp" which isn't very informative. Some explanation as to what AOKP is would helpful too.

Well I would like to get back on topic. I would like to report that the new build and the old build 9/09 are very smooth. The only issue I had was when talking on a headset I would hear occasional echo of myself. But noticed it would fix itself while talking on the phone which I thought was odd. Anyone else have same issue? Not a big deal, but just thought I mention it.

I got a random reboot trying to run system tuner. 1st one I've had in weeks... but I'm a dirty flasher so take it for what it is.

FSU make sure it is the only CPU app u have running.......... And this op I can dig. It doesn't get much simpler. If u do not comprehend what it says then u shouldn't be flashing ROMs on to your poor gs3
Should be like a disclaimer or something. Its pretty straight forward tho just follow the directions and u will be ok

Just system tuner as far as I know. I was able to run it right after that, so it may have just been coincidental.

[APP][NEW] S Voice v5 100% fix update.zip universal 5/29/2012 ;)

Im seeing a couple threads and apps on here with no update.zip, I know I like to use update.zips, helps me keep files I want in a form I can easily use and save.
Anyways this uses the hacked S Voice that does not require the modding of your build.prop (which breaks so many apps and functions on your phone). It will remove the original voicetalk.apk and remove vlingo.apk if you have it installed. so this is pretty much a universal patch now for phones that will work with S Voice.
It is also recommended to change you language and input settings.
1.System settings/ language and input/ voice recognition, now set this to Samsung powered by Vlingo.
2. Under voice search do the same if you have more than one option.
3.Text-to-speech output, you can change this to either Google text-to-speech, or SamsungTTS. I am using SamsungTTS atm and its working perfect.
Well here is the download enjoy!
DOWNLOAD v5
Thanks to mijjah74 and ecooce for the new update.
Thanks to AJC9000 for providing the lib, and Team Omega for the SGS3 rom, and chainfire for the first rooted SGS3 kernel,Thanks to tdunham for spotting a script error.

Nah version 2 should be good for you, v3 only removes the other files that the user would have to remove before installing S Voice, which many arnt aware they have to, so v3 solves that problem and should cut down on some questions around here

-Was running Cynogenmod Alpha 4
-Odined to EL26 CWM
-Installed Cynogenmod Alpha 4 again via zip in the recovery

And it worked perfectly.
There are a few bugs with S voice, crashes when you click OK to search the web, but I'm loving it, thank you so much for the release!
I thought Samsung blocked it for non SG3s though? Good job!

[ROM]AOSP-Vanilla Beta 1 updated 7/8/12

AOSP-Vanilla
This is something I've been working on for a very long time. It's a mix of the Android Open Source Project and CM9.
This would not be possible without the work of TeamChopsticks.
Credits:

Mr.X
Topprospect

The Android Open Source Project

TheDerekJay (I don't think many ICS's would boot w/o his Darkside scripts)
This ROM is 100% built from source. No longer using the Linaro tool chain as this was a major reason for the delay of updates. Then optimized for maximum speed (mx0 compression of framework and all PNG's optimized. The original sources were downloaded from Git and the contributors are listed above. When I say contributors I mean if your Github had an .xml that helped me figure it out you're a contributor. I'm only human please tell me if I left somebody out. I will be uploading the sources necessary to build this ROM to my Github. If it wasn't for the "open" source of others I would have never figured out how to do this. Updates will be released from my Twitter that way I can sneak 'em out when I'm working, hey I got three kids in pre-school I'll do all I can when I can.
Instructions:
Flash Darkside Super Wipe
Flash AOSP-Vanilla
Flash 20120429-gapps
Flash Darkside Cache Wipe & Fix Permissions
Reboot system
Smile
Updates will be released as I eliminate more of the CM stuff from the AOSP. It's running Eugene's CM kernel right now so I don't know how far we can go without a good kernel tutorial to be 100% AOSP. Eugene if you want this removed just say so. And remember I'd like to keep some of the cool features of CM9 but not all so please don't request that I put all the things I took out back.

I really need testers to let me know. I haven't found anything broken. But I'm sure you've read the "readme" in with a Linux kernel- please test on 4 to 5 or more people. It should be good I been running it about an hour now. I had a previous version on all day though.

AOSP is the Android Open Source Project. It's the base for all Android OS. The only constant from one manufacturer to another. Samsung's bastardization is known as Touchwiz, HTC's is Sense and the Nexus line has become the only vehicle for Google to get the real Android into the public. Now this love of what Android is meant to be is what has inspired the great developers of the world to bring about Cyanogen mod, AOKP and the Nexus line from Google. Those of us who have been in on this since the G1 and Magic seem to be a little more fond of "Vanilla" flavored Android and I do ask if you can't tell the difference then this one ain't for you. Please I've put long hours into this already and many more hours still too come, this is my project and I will not apologize for being one of the few AOSP fans who owns this phone.

not a problem what r u running ?
I'm running round and round I get little flickers on pages when they refresh? Also GPS points north when I'm looking south lol makes sky maps hard to read. Other than that doing pretty good hopefully battery will settle a bit like it did on 10/02 nightly.

I'm getting an issue where when i check for battery stats it tells me that battery usage data is unavailable. I'd that a known issue?

Yes, that is a known issue. I get it as well. This question was answered (asked by me) on PhantomPhreak's CM10 forum (page 460). But yes, Chris is aware of this.
anyone try notasbroken?
10/17 is a no go as of right now guess we wait for 10/18
Then again no one said how they flashed it..maybe a fresh flash won't let it boot but a dirty flash will?? Maybe something that's in an older build will let it boot..just food for thought.
Random note in aosp ROMs my downloads r slow compared to touchwiz and I read around other people experience this also..and I can confirm cm7 doesn't have this problem..only cm9 and cm10

I've experienced two random reboots since flashing roundnround. Just wanted to let you know you're not the only one.
Anyone know the status of SBrissen's AOSP rom? Hasn't been a test build in a month now. Just curious
No Radios work since Won't Work and What's Next right?
DERP I didn't see the changelog :cyclops:
