AOSP-Vanilla
This is something I've been working on for a very long time. It's a mix of the Android Open Source Project and CM9.
This would not be possible without the work of TeamChopsticks.

This ROM is 100% built from source. No longer using the Linaro tool chain as this was a major reason for the delay of updates. Then optimized for maximum speed (mx0 compression of framework and all PNG's optimized. The original sources were downloaded from Git and the contributors are listed above. When I say contributors I mean if your Github had an .xml that helped me figure it out you're a contributor. I'm only human please tell me if I left somebody out. I will be uploading the sources necessary to build this ROM to my Github. If it wasn't for the "open" source of others I would have never figured out how to do this. Updates will be released from my Twitter that way I can sneak 'em out when I'm working, hey I got three kids in pre-school I'll do all I can when I can.
Instructions:
Flash Darkside Super Wipe
Flash AOSP-Vanilla
Flash 20120429-gapps
Flash Darkside Cache Wipe & Fix Permissions
Reboot system
Smile
Updates will be released as I eliminate more of the CM stuff from the AOSP. It's running Eugene's CM kernel right now so I don't know how far we can go without a good kernel tutorial to be 100% AOSP. Eugene if you want this removed just say so. And remember I'd like to keep some of the cool features of CM9 but not all so please don't request that I put all the things I took out back.

I really need testers to let me know. I haven't found anything broken. But I'm sure you've read the "readme" in with a Linux kernel- please test on 4 to 5 or more people. It should be good I been running it about an hour now. I had a previous version on all day though.

I'm back on Darkside, no boot.
try 2x dark side super wipe the flash rom and the flash gapps then do a normal factory restore
Isn't this aosp vanilla just like cm9? I see no difference in this and cm9 and aokp.

He said that he based this from CM9 and its slowly getting rid of things to make completely aosp. The main problem is the kernel. This is what understood
Anyway give him time and I hope he doesn't abandoned this project. Also Jellybean is around the corner

AOSP is the Android Open Source Project. It's the base for all Android OS. The only constant from one manufacturer to another. Samsung's bastardization is known as Touchwiz, HTC's is Sense and the Nexus line has become the only vehicle for Google to get the real Android into the public. Now this love of what Android is meant to be is what has inspired the great developers of the world to bring about Cyanogen mod, AOKP and the Nexus line from Google. Those of us who have been in on this since the G1 and Magic seem to be a little more fond of "Vanilla" flavored Android and I do ask if you can't tell the difference then this one ain't for you. Please I've put long hours into this already and many more hours still too come, this is my project and I will not apologize for being one of the few AOSP fans who owns this phone.

The Darkside cache wipe before boot is the ticket to changing from TW to AOSP. Just follow directions and all goes well.

Been running it for about an hour... Here is what i noticed.
1. Great boot Animation
2. No Gapps was included so i Flash 7/26
3. OTA FC's
4. Sound Seems really loud, but could just be me.
5. Torch toggle doesnt work (also missing some toggles like tethering)
6. Love the 4g icon
7. It comes with Faux kernel (have not flashed any other kernel, yet)
Will post more as i install more apps... Just wanted to give a quick insight.
8. Seems to be very AOKP-ish. As in its missing some things from cm10 (Show widget before pattern/pin unlock, tethering toggle, etc)
9. Can't edit launcher settings

I'm pretty sure that this is because Samsung hasn't released 4.0.4 kernel source for the T989. Otherwise, I am sure Faux would have been all over it.
The reason there are no custom 4.0.4 is source has not been released. Until it is, everything will be stock based.

I posted a question about the kernel being built from source and the camera failing, I have yet to receive a response in both Rootz and XDA. Also when contacting Samsung they said they could not help. I know it is something that I am missing and the source is not the newest version, but I do not know what to look for. I have been looking at the Galaxy Tab and Skyrocket custom kernel sources.
Wow still nothing...i think we have the only phone that doesn't have a current custom kernel...maybe this is the end? Although there are over 10 roms...very strange

Yeah, tons of themed roms and unofficial nightly builds, no 4.04 kernels for stock, keeps me on darkside evolution. Seems our only hope is faux and he's super busy

P.A.C.-Man ROM
for the Galaxy S3 SGH-L710...brought to you by klin1344 (ported by me )
Paranoid + AOKP + CyanogenMod = PACman
This a ROM that combines the best of AOSP into one awesome ROM! I didnt dev this myself. All I did was port it over to the L710. All the hard work that went into making this wonderful ROM came from from the exceptional talents of:
- klin1344 (his post is prettier than mine...)
- szl.kiev and Team
- CyanogenMod Team
- Team Kang
- ParanoidAndroid Team
- Ktoonzes & Task650
- and perhaps a few others I don't know about and\or weren't mentioned in the original thread.

This ROM is merely a port which still has some issues. I doubt I will be working on it any further as KBizzle has the same exact thing posted HERE only built from source and is much much more compatible with the D2spr. I would highly recommend using his instead. However if you are bored and just want something to mess with and see if you can fix the issues associated with this ROM then knock yourself out

1. Cm10.1- obvious(it is being worked on so no need to comment)
2. Cm9 im in air on this one. Its ics which we have but we should get jb very very soon.
3. Latest stock pimped out with aroma. If many dont know about aroma roms, its basically a customizable rom that lets you build your own version with tons and tons of options. I will of course be adding many many many addons to the current list.
4. Skinny revisted.

The thing I want most is CM 10.1. Now, my question is what about LTE? I know it was a massive effort to get wimax working with cm7/9 on the evo/evo 3d. If LTE won't be working then my next choice is a slimmed down stock rom with performance/battery mods, lightly themed. And a nice kernel to go with it

If the source to korean jb is close, then skip cm9 and go for option 3 (pimped out stock rom). Its faster that way right? It should keep people happy till source drops.

Before people grab this and start running off with it and running their mouths about bugs there are a few things that should be realized.
1. 0xD34D has posted on XDA before and there is no reason to think he won't this time around.
2. This seems to be a sort of alpha or beta based on the build number.
3. If you need stability don't flash random roms without realizing things like alpha, nightly, milestone, etc. Stick to [STABLE] roms.
Carry on and have a nice day... :good:

So far, so good. Had a little glitch with the theme manager, though. It defaulted to Jellybean colors but I prefer those anyways. Definitely let it settle before customizing. I flashed the newest Note radio on top of it and flashed the latest gapps. Everything is running smoothly. Great battery life so far and very little lag. I'm running the latest nightly btw.
