ChameleonOS - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Something new to try supports our S2
I didn't build it so don thank me.

0xD34D is the creator of the ROM. He also built MIUI for us back in the days of 4.1.2.

Before people grab this and start running off with it and running their mouths about bugs there are a few things that should be realized.
1. 0xD34D has posted on XDA before and there is no reason to think he won't this time around.
2. This seems to be a sort of alpha or beta based on the build number.
3. If you need stability don't flash random roms without realizing things like alpha, nightly, milestone, etc. Stick to [STABLE] roms.
Carry on and have a nice day... :good:

So far, so good. Had a little glitch with the theme manager, though. It defaulted to Jellybean colors but I prefer those anyways. Definitely let it settle before customizing. I flashed the newest Note radio on top of it and flashed the latest gapps. Everything is running smoothly. Great battery life so far and very little lag. I'm running the latest nightly btw.

This looks like someone took CM and added a theme to it..

If you read their website you would know that's exactly what they did. However, they dug into the System and theme manager and mad it reach a lot more of the UI.

I just flashed the jelly bean cm10 rom and the associated gapps... but it claims I should also use aerovan's 10.5 kernel. I've googled all over for it but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know where to download it? Thanks!

There is also an app on the market called GooManager which allows you to get easy access to files on goo.im. aeroeven's 10.5 kernel for instance can be found under /dev/aeroeven/kernel/vivow. I find this app useful to stay on top of the latest rom/gapps/kernel releases.
In goo manager you have to go to devs and find aeroevan. For some reason he isn't in the "browse compatible ROMs" section

Really? Why do people say things like this? If you don't like it go back to stock, these are roms that are being worked on by our best devs and they are working with what they have, just be happy that we have ICS/JB at all. I for one am very happy with the alpha JB ROMs so far.

+1 - Aero JB ROM breaths new life into my old Inc2. Just LOVE it. Granted it might not for everyone but one has to be willing to accept a certain ... hmm how to say ... "imperfection" when using them. But the rewards are so much more plentiful than the shortcomings. Many thanks to all the devs working hard to making this possible.

CNA Rom

Not sure if many people were aware or not but Codename put out a ROM for our Sprint version. It's up on GOO and also if you just google Codename Android, his site will come up. Not sure why he didn't open a thread on here.
I ran his Roms on the Nexus and it was awesome, lots of customizations. It's more like AOKP as far as options as opposed to CM.
Edit: DO NOT FLASH YET, ISSUES BEING WORKED OUT.

I haven't had a chance to try most of them but so far I like paranoid android 2.52. I haven't had any problems with it & it runs pretty smooth. What's your favorite rom?

I gave 2.99 a go but its still quite new so will wait a while before updating permanently and just 'check in' once in a while, so to speak, to see if its been made as stable as 2.54... Am very much lookin forward to being able to use 2.99 as my daily.
Am curious as to the difference between the roms for the GT-I9300 and SGH-T999... Does the T999 have anything the I9300 doesnt?

SGH-T989
ROM: SlimBean 3.1.0 Official
Kernel: 3.0.49-KingKangersOne.
Modem:T879UVLG3
Recovery: TWRP 2.3.1.1
- Jedi Jelly (Skyrocket) TouchWiz 4.1.2 (ptmr3)-----Haven't flashed this yet
- Jelly (Skyrocket) TouchWiz 4.1.2 LEAK (TheLastSidekick)-------Haven't flashed this yet
- Intergalactic Connectivity (Rushing)-------Very fast rom no "intergalactic connectivity" same tmobile meta redirect great reception no reboot to recovery cant really say anything else everything else is posted by dev.
- Official Slimbean 3.1 (Gmillz) ****ing amazing! super fast, lots of personalization features, sounds amazing with "pimp my rom" downloaded beats and poweramp combo (Best I've heard on any rom I've flashed) be sure to get Beats installer from play store for the icon follow the install instructions. Don't use any custom boot animations, they seem to all make the system become unresponsive right off the bat
- Unofficial Slimbean (onlychevys)-----Haven't flashed yet.
- Slim AOKP Light / Superlight (android88) ----Flashing next <3
- JediKnight 6 (Ptmr3)---Haven't flashed yet.
- Party boy v2.1 (thepartyboy)---Party boy 1 was a huge let down for me. Everything was force closing or freezing. Flashed it twice, meh. I'll wait for it to evolve.
- Lightning Zap Kernel Kang (Krazeecracker)-----Haven't flashed, not too big on ****ing with Herc's kernel, I leave that to the Dev in thier roms
- Kko Kernel KANG (TheLastSidekick)-----^^^^^^^^^
- Miui 2.12.7 (OxD34D)-----It's been a while since I've flashed Miui, not since thier earlier jb releases. Looking forward to it.
- All Star ROM v5 (Tmogalaxys2)-----Average rom, not bad or good really. everything worked had all the winning features from different devs. didn't wow me in any way though. Went back to Infamous 3.1 after a day. Btw, The Unicef Rom is the ****ing ****! I loved it, only reason I switched was to find a rom I could tether or hotspot with. (no such luck)
- LiquidSmooth Rc9 Kang (TheLastSidekick)----Haven't tried the Kang version yet.
--For fully functioning ICS rom straight out of the box, I will always go back to Infamous 3.1
--- So far, my JB preference is a toss up between SlimBean3.1 and TheUnicefRom10.5
I really enjoyed AOKP milestone1 official

[ROM][11/08][UNOFFICIAL][4.3] Carbon (semi)Nightly Builds

***NOTE**** I NO LONGER HAVE A TMOBILE NOTE 2 **** HOWEVER I WILL STILL OCCASIONALLY BUILD FOR IT **** LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WANT ONE
Rules of the thread :
1. Be nice!
2. Be helpful!
3. No egos!
4. Someone asks a question that has already been asked a dozen times and you want to tell the n00b to go search? See rules 1+2(+3)!
Enjoy!
To be clear: I deserve ZERO credit in this. ALL I am doing is sharing my nightly builds that I make on my own.
I will make them occasionally for those crack-flashers out there who would like a nightly build on days when the official Carbon build fails for some reason.
ALL credit goes to the fantastic Carbon team and the work that they do.

http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:open+branch:cm-11.0,n,z
If you want to build on your own:
Do this: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_mako
and replace this line: repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b cm-11.0 with this line:
repo init -u git://github.com/CarbonDev/android -b kk
and then anytime you see the word 'mako' replace it with 't0ltetmo'
(ps--I take no responsibility if you brick your phone, yada yada yada)
The first build is uploading now...should be don in a minute

I remove focal from the equation by deleting the apk.... Seems to cause issues in general. The stock camera is working fine.

has the latest CM code merged to 08/26? I am asking this because now on CM we can turn off the button back light.

This is synced with all of the newest sources. I have no idea about this feature. I don't use the note... I just build it for my wife's phone, and share it here to be helpful

I just wanted to say "Thanks!!" I don't for the life of me know why this isn't in the top three ROMs in this thread, this is great, 100% fully functional as far as I can tell! I'm using it as my DD and enjoying 4.3 as well as full LTE support!
Thanks again!
Chris R.
Is there a recommended volume hack for this ROM?
As much as I love this ROM I noticed that volumes are significantly lower than other ROMs that I have tried.
Can anyone recommend a volume hack that works well with this ROM?
Thanks!
Chris R.
