USB OTG + hub? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Hi,
Is there some sort of USB hub for OTG?
I've ordered an adapter (micro usb to HDMI) to connect my note to the TV..
But i also wanted to connect my wireless keyboard & mouse.
Tried it with a hub but doesnt work..
Some ideas?

Can't have OTG and MHL work in the same time, choose one or the other.
You could go with DLNA and a wired OTG solution, you would fail.
Your only real option would be be MHL and using Bluetooth to connect keyboard/mouse/peripherals.
There's no dock. You can make your own though, just search the forum.
This thread can be closed down now.

I'll just add that MHL + Bluetooth is my method... although I've now lost MHL on CM10 so my dream combo is bust for the mo!

[Q] Micro USB to VGA/HDMI ?

Oke so here is the question.
is it posible to do a setup with USB to vga/HDMI + keyboard&mous and maybe a USB stik/ExHDD?
all trough micro usb? or is there only 1 posibility that you use UDB to VGA/HDMI and the rest trough bluethoot/wifi?
i need to hook up my phone to my monitor vga port for a product presentation.
i really hope this is posible.
or maybe makeing it posible trough app wize.
sorry for my lack of english, but im in a hurry atm.
You need a mhl adapter...HDMI to MHL to TV.. need power to this cable also that connects to the side of the adapter.

Like above said, MHL to HDMI adapter. You can't connect any USB stick / keyboard or mouse to the phone while connected with the MHL adapter though.

ah bummer, thats what i wanted to know.

Official MHL adapter with OTG, how does OTG work in this case?

Hopefully somebody who has htis can shed some light on it.
If you're using MHL hdmi out, the unused micro USB port on the adapter needs to be fed power, correct?
So does that mean that if you're outputting via HDMI that you cannot utilize the USB OTG? Or will you have to use a powered hub to simultaneously drive the HDMI output and the USB OTG peripherals?
I don't think it will work like that. I tried plugging my OTG cable with a powered usb hub into the micro USB port on my MHL adapter. Even without an HDMI cable connected my phone would not detect my wireless mouse and keyboard.
Are you using the official mhl adapter?

Weird, the whole point of Samsung going with the 11 pin was to enable USB OTG. Maybe it doesn't work with the adapter?
I guess I'll find out, the official adapter is in the mail, should be here Thurs.
Of course it wouldn't work with the adapter and an older cable. The adapter is only rearranging a 5pin power cable and hdmi to match the 11pin in the phone. 6 pins in the phone are still not used.
If I remember ill try it with the official S3 adapter later.

i also really want to know if the samsung 11 pin (not adapter) will work with a powered USB hub and OTG ..
I think I saw somewhere that the adapter for the s2 and s3 are different. Don't know much just wanted to throw my 2 cents in

I was wondering if this would work so I won't have to buy a bluetooth keyboard/mouse and just use a USB combo with a powered hub instead:
Official MHL adapter -> hdmi to monitor

[Q] Multiple USB devices and HDMI

Guys,
I was wondering whether it´s possible to have a "connection chain" like this to the GNex ???
1.) Connect an OTG cable to the micro USB port of the GNex
2.) Plug a standard self-powered USB hub into the OTG cable
3.) Apply an USB-A to Micro-AB adapter and so connect the Samsung Micro-USB2HDMI adapter to the USB hub
4.) Connect a Logitech game pad
5.) Connect a USB stick, portable drive, ... you name it
What´s the purpose you´re sure about to ask ... Well, launch any emulator on the GNex, bring the video output to my 46 inch plasma and gamble old games with the game pad over the GNex.
Do you think, it´ll work? I don´t wanna spend all the money for all the adapters and stuff ending up in a mess.
Cheers
Christian
Don't think it will work honestly.
I don't think this device supports mhl and otg. Sounds like the galaxy s3 does with a special cable. That cable does not work on our phone.

Thx for the replies. Kinda sad, my idea won't work out.

[Q] MHL and USB OTG

Now that my HOX has JB, I'm looking to get a USB OTG cable. However I want to know if there is a way to get say a USB hub to plug into the OTG cable and then connect a MHL cable into the hub to watch films and use a mouse to control it?
Good question. I don't think that will work. It would need to be directly connected to the USB port for MHL output. I don't have a phone with OTG, but as far as I know USB hubs can be used for keyboards, mice, gaming controllers and pen drives (someone correct me if I'm wrong), but not for MHL. You can use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse though, if you want.

[Q] USB OTG

Hey guys, lets discuss about devices compatible with USB OTG, combinations and variations between kernel.
Actually I dont have so many devices so I only can test some devices. I have wireless mouse with nano receiver and it works. Even if you have a usb hub it works also.
And also I want to find out is it possible to charge while using USB OTG and using HDMI while using mouse and keyboard. Anyone has an idea?

MHL+Charging is the only way MHL works, but not with USB OTG. MHL is just using the USB port to send HDMI data, its no longer a USB port. So no USBOTG while mhl is active on the OneX. And you can't charge while host mode is active.
You can use a BT mouse and BT Keyboard in your setup.
To your other question, my wired Xbox360 pad works OTG.

think you cant do that, but with a base for your phone you can charge, have hdmi output, and probably? use your otg cable
audio!

external dacs work beautifully with USB OTG with JB one x, i've tested dr dac nano and the fiio e7 - using stock jb kernel from htc (hboot 1.39) you even get power supplied to the usb otg device!
