i'm also curious...

it don't work and it will never work to ( wrong cpu ) only snapdragon cpu's are capable of running wp7

Deep down inside I know it will never work, the other part of me wishes it could because Verizon will not have a WP7 till next year. Just want something to hold me over till VZW gets a cool one...

Yeah, I wish It would work. I was planning to keep it as my project phone. It's just too bad. I just got a G2 and it's my first Android device ever. I feel like the TP2 was more hackable.. and I really hate to let it go. My windows mobile/phone days are over
I'm clueless with Android.. I don't know how their programming works, I don't understand how to unlock the img on the phone or even put it in boot loader mode or even root it, etc. It's like I still feel out of place.
Any of the rest of you in a situation like mine?

Almost. WinMo was really hackable.
Though I only played with Android on the Touch Pro 2, so it was glitchy.
I just hope somebody roots WP7 before HTC 7 Pro comes out.

There will be NOOOOOO devices capable to port WP7 to other than the HD2!!!
I am sorry guys, other than the HD2, there would be no possible ports of WP7 to any other devices. Unlike WM, WP7 has strict hardware requirements, and it being on other devices is highly unlikely and unreasonable to port to because of the limitations of previous devices.
Any dev want to chime in on my generalization, please PM me and I will add your post here.
So please don't ask for one, your post will be closed with out notice and further questions will result in bans.

port t310 kk to t210

i read a tutorial that says ports are best tried with devices that aren't more than a hair or two apart
so i'm trying with t310 and t210 my question so far [wifi]
is what does a status 6 error mean and i mean what does it mean.
no useless answers please.
my next question is
can i get away with using set_perm instead of set_metadata_recursive even if set perm has been deprecated,
and might that resolve the status 6 error ?
my last question is ummm what does deprecated actually mean in relation to this thing i'm trying to do ?
and my really last question is could some hook me up with human readable pit files for both models
including notes for the partition name [boot,recovery, etc] the mmcblk and vold stuff is confusing me.

I think this will not gonna work in any way the T310 looks like it is almost the same as the T210 but there are big diffrences so trying this out will make no sense i think...
But if you want to try it go ahead and btw use Google for status 6 error or search here on xda there are a lot of threads about it

on pdadb.com .net .disco [i don't remember i did a side by side of there specs they look pretty close
what's a better sight for getting the real low down on these things ?
and google-ing anything makes my nuts hurt,mas far as the forums almost no one knows or knows how to answer a question
without suggesting google-ing it it's a viscious cycle
the 7and8 are both exonys dual core , ican't see how ram,rom space and battery make a meaningful diff, the latter stuff seems

Actually i am sure it doesn't have the same board, cpu, gpu.

and if you don't want to search for it that is just lazy man we as developers need to search also...

which is why i asked the question concerning set_perm vs. set_metadata_recursive
i unlike many am willing to risk a hard brick poor as i am to test a theory
i spend the majority of my time in between tqking care of my mother and our slice of the family property
i wasn't lazy in the army 20 years ago when i was a kid i'm not lazy now
maybe i've grown a little impatient and you would be right to fault me on that point but lazy

and i think that's pretty close to solved i guess i'm thinking of processors

okay so i had actually read that this afternoon, the thing is i stitched 5his port attempt together entirely
on my tab. meaning when you edit build.prop in reg note it go's screwy but when you
edit it in house it's all good so idon't know if that newline thing would apply

SoC=System on a Chip, its usually easy to use an app called "Dev Check" on this forum somewhere, great app for learning all the hardware specs for comparing

RN8PRO Being left out - Again!

TWRP just announced official support for the RN8 and RN8T on the Snapdragon 665 but the RN8PRO is still being left out...
I'm very stubborn and i defend my purchase decisions like it's my life but even I'm starting to get a bit frustrated...

Some people are taking scrap and accept it as a full meal;
and maybe that's fine, cause maybe it's all we are going to get.
Remember that the Redmi Note 7 still dont have a official version to this very day.
The current root methods described here on XDA for the RN8Pro feels like…
Mashed potatoes with more or less broken english and few drops of luck, just for good measure...

Exactly. And adding to that, the amount of misinformation and blatant liters around this handset is just absolutely mind-blowing. At some point you might see someone casually ranting about how it's best not to expect anything positive about this device and then you turn your head around only to see the same person claiming to be a ROM developer that almost have a fully functional ROM for it.... XIAOMI didn't even release the touchscreen driver for the phone!!! Yet some "developers" out there somehow has a "working ROM" and looking for testers.... ???

Btw sorry to say that but the source code is complete you will understand if you know some git.See i am not just blant this is the proof:

Well you got me there. But i hope you know where this is coming from. There's a lot riding on this device so we can't afford to have anyone mess with its reputation.
On a side note, I'm willing to try things out, now that i know you're legit. That's if you still needa tester. Let me know. ?

But my only concern is that if Xiaomi doesn't give legit unbrick tool we can't do anything coz when we flash through some third party tool also it needs Xiaomi server permission:crying:

am in USA and don't know hardly anything LOL(about phones).i recently had conversation with Samsung tech support . I was inquiring about my 4 year old S-9 that i am happy with ,,,,EXCEPT all the blotware Such as (MY PRIVACY) GOOGLE for !,I don't like it!!!!! I am private guy that don't like people snooping on me where i drive and everything i do, Locking me out of my accounts .dropping my email account,watching my activity on Porn sites and BLAH BLAH..What I was trying to do since I don't care if I brick my phone or not and besides I own this thing and i should be able to do as i want with it.....You wouldn't believe the answers i got from Samsung TECH support.
Google is our partner IN CRIME with our company and we can't alter the OS system because Google don't want that!!!! what a crock of BSSSS.
so i cant root my phone.Because I own it and GOOGLE controls what i can do with the Damn thing becuse they want to Snoop on everyone and control us.

Yes, your device can be bootloader unlocked (and therefore rooted). Unfortunately it's not a free solution. But if you're interested, PM me

My 960u is unlocked and rooted. Works great, but no support for aftermarket roms.
