Your Favourite Phone - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

OK so we all know the GS3 is, to date, the best phone. But after all the phones we've gone through, there's that one "special" phone. That special phone could be special for any reason...which one would it be for you.
I'll start it off..
Mine was the Nexus One...IMO, the greatest Nexus of all time.
Because at the time, not many people had it, since you had to really want it to get it. It was solidly built by HTC, had the most RAM, and was just the easiest to tinker.
Not to mention people used to see it and say, "is that the Nexus One? Can I see it" ....and they'd hold it like it was baby Jesus.
And how about your worst smartphone ever, or at least the most disappointing "smartphone"?
Mine would have to be the Xperia X10, out of the box. I feel sorry for my wife when I tried to sway her away from her 3Gs to Android via Xperia X10. Let's just say she's not fond of Android up to now.

You can all laugh now but my favorite was actually the backflip, it was my first introduction to android and had the best physical keyboard I have ever used.

Same!

I would have to say my favorite would be the phone that started the smartphone craze for me. That would be the AT&T Tilt 8925. It's what got me started here at XDA and began my flashing craze. I'd hate to have to go back to it now though.

I will be way back to Nokia N75. I love this phone old good flip phone. But of smartphones must be samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket.

My favorite was the Desire Z.....too bad my boy knocked it out of my hands and down the stairs, of course that's why I ended up with my S3 . Maybe I should fire up eBay and find a screen.....

Yeah the original Droid (Milestone in Canada) was my 1st Android device. The slide out keyboard was great, and was solid as a freaking brick!

NS4G all the way, it was a godsend after the abortion that was development for the Epic 4G

Nokia N900.
Maemo linux, desktop-like multitasking, root from the box, Carl Zeiss optics/dedicated camera button/lens cover slider - best cameraphone I've ever had.
I was hoping that Nokia will get things right with N9, create and promote vast app ecosystem, instead they turned to the dark side(
My next hope was WebOS, failed too and here I am, happy android user.

My fav phone was also my first Android device. The HTC Hero (gsm version).
Oh boy that thing was fun. Didn't root or flash anything for about 4 months but was soooo happy when I took the plunge.
Built solid and was nearly impossible to screw up its was a great learning tool.
Upgrading to an S3 has been simply amazing. I look at my old Hero and can't believe how I got by with that small screen lol.

The GNex, original HTC desire (I had the Telstra version) and the red or purple MyTouch 4g. Loved those phones.

HTC Legend for me. I still think it was the best looking phone HTC made. The One X is also up there but the stupid sealed battery was it's death blow. I like this phone, but as soon as the Note 2 comes to Canada this one will be gone.

I switched from the Evo 3D about 1 month ago. I have nothing but good things to say about the gnex. I really liked the evo 3D when I had it. I thought I liked sense, but didn't realize how much of a pig it was until I switched to stock Android.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
I loved my EVO 3D, but I was always a bit upset at myself for upgrading from my EVO 4G. even though it was nice to go from from single core to dual it wasn't really that big of an improvement that I couldn't have waited.
I ended up leaving Sprint and needed a new phone, so I got a G-Nex. I am fully satisfied with my decision. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a benchmark junkie though. My rooted E3D was a beast. The G-Nex is not quite as good at benches, but I love it still. Vanilla makes all the difference.
However, i switched because i left sprint and needed a new phone. Sounds like you plan on sticking with Sprint. You'll likely be using an upgrade to switch to the nexus. And it is also likely you're last annual upgrade. That being the case, I probably wouldn't upgrade. I would wait for the next nexus, a quad core, or both. Like I said, I like the nexus better but it certainly isn't worth an upgrade and then being locked into it for two years.

It's a fine phone. Coming from a 4.3" device it will take some time getting used to the screen size though. But once you do it's pretty great.
Rooting is rather noob-friendly, I think, although there aren't too many custom roms yet. That will change in the near future.
Yea I've already got a build environment set up on a Linux so shouldn't be to hard to build

I am a total noob and I have the one v I was able to root with out bricking so I would be willing to bet you will not have any probs
I'm a noob to, just joined today. I currently have a Bold9900 which is from Rogers, I unlocked it and took it to virgin for a cheaper plan. Although getting tired of blackberry itself cause this phone freezes 3 times a day, I have to pop the battery every time. I was thinking of switching over to the HTC One V
It seems like a decent phone.. I'm not the type of person to have the "latest and greatest" And i certainly don't fancy those 4+ inch mini-tablet super-phones like the Nexus 4 or the Galaxy S3... Even the One X is slightly to big for my liking... I also prefer expandable memory, which the One S doesn't have but the One V does.
This One V would be my FIRST Android phone ever. All I've ever had was Blackberry and an old Motorola. So I think it would be a good Android entry level phone.
Or choice is good although one backside is its a single core phone

I miss my Amaze. That being said... it is taking some time for me to have the S3 feel like an extension of myself. The way my Amaze did. I honestly don't miss this phone when I leave it at home or in the car. Plus the whole issue with not being able to move apps to the external sd (grrrr)!
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Yeah, the question wasn't if it's cooler, it was if it's worth it.
I mean, don't be blind, you add so and so money and you get less than so and so value. That was my intention. To tell the truth.
It is cooler, but it's more breakable, my phone has similar features, bla bla bla.
Don't get all "Appley" on me but with Samsung, it's also wrong to be blinded by one company... Even if it's not Apple...
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Absolutely I think its worth it! I was skeptical because I loved my old htc, but I am so glad I moved up to the GS3.

Can't go wrong with this phone!
Apsolutely worth it. The S3 is the best smarty phone I've ever had! I just paid $177. to have my screen repaired after I dropped and cracked it. I love this device. Love it.
Did I mention how much I love it?
Well I came from the Gnex and I really like this phone. Touchwiz wasn't too bad but I needed that AOSP back. After flashing Paranoid Android I'm loving this phone a little more than my Gnex. It was with the switch to me. Don't get me wrong though, having the nexus was awesome!

+1. Got the S3 and slapped ParanoidAndroid on it with faux's Ultimate kernel. Hybrid mode on the size of this screen is wonderful. With the dual core S4, and PA with faux's kernel, I can't think of a better phone to have right now.

No. The G2N is big enough for all my needs. Sold the tablet and the DINC2 on ebay, got enough to pay for the G2N..
Been 2 weeks now. The SGN2 is just great. Rooted with the Jellybeans Build 16 ROM. Everything works!! Smooth, incredibly fast, great battery life even with the large screen and giant processor. 4LTE is just great! Didn't even cost me anything. Sold the DINC2 and the Iconia A500, paid for the Samsung. Verizon monthly is the same as before.
ROM development for this phone is very good because it started life as a Jellybean phone, so no porting necessary..

I don't know man there was just something about it. It was extremely slippery to hold and I am not a case person. The screen scratched very easy and I carry it in my pocket. The phone would lag extremely bad and would glitch from time to time. I was always having to transfer downloads from internal to sdcard. Just wasn't my cup of tea. If your problem is only with large screen then go for it! Because when I bought my S3, my first thought in mind after unboxing was "seriously, why did I even buy this huge phone" (saw S3 first time). My co-worker has it, so I have had a chance to play with it already. It's not much bigger than the E4GT, but I want a phone where I can reach across with my thumb without having my palm activating stuffs on the edge of the screen.
The other reason is the E4GT just start working well enough after all these years, so I'll wait for more stable ROMs first
