Equalizer improvement. - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Coming from phones that I had Awesome beats on I felt like I was missing something with the stock EQ. While it does sound good it seemed to
lack something and the adjustments did not make all that much difference in sound quality.
I had tried quite a few of my old apps that always worked but not on my Ion. While I have full intentions of going to Awesome beats I also know how its a love hate thing on XDA. Well for all of the ones who dont like all the deap boomy bass should try out MusicFX.
MusicFX is not really a app in the normal sense as it integrates into the stock EQ creating a more sensitive adjustment. It delivers a noticeable gain over the stock setting.
Two things to note: 1 if you use a app manager or auto kill you need to set it to ignore this app or it will stop working. 2 you will now have eq listing under G music menu to adjust the settings. On Pandora you just use the stock music app to adjust. Oh and make sure to go into sound and set it as the default EQ. Settings,Sound,Music effects.:good:

I just downloaded the beats audio off of play store.
It claims to install beats audio driver to the rooted phone. Worked like a charm, sounds nice, and even displays the beats audio symbol in notification bar when head phones are plugged in.

its not that good my friend..it is an app for all phones..you should try out AC!D mod..it is optimized for xperia phones....makes sound awesome..
PEACE

Does This Really Works? I Didn't Find Any Difference After Installing This! Except The Notification!

The original Walkman player with custom equalizer of your own makes the sound much more deeper and clearer, and this experience only exists on Sony stock ROM If you are using CM10 or AOKP you will never get the best quality sound even if you install AC!D Technology or Beats Audio mod
I want to share with all you guys my experience when configuring the equalizer on stock ROM It creates deeper bass and deeper sound than normal equalizer with the volume is about 60%

Stock on the newer roms is better by far. I also found this not to work as it went on. Just use the factory setup.
The app for Beats in the store make cause your eq to be locked so you cant change settings. I have not tried it on my Ion but did put it on my Incredible. It worked for the Inc but my Ion in stock form sounds better.

[Q] Switching Audio Enhancements - SRS / Dolby etc - and Android App Inventor

Finally got my handset this week, it's pretty sweet, I used to cook ROMs for the Toapz so Android is "a new toy" for me.
On the Topaz, well WM6.5 really, you could turn SRS off or on for any audio going through the headset/earphones. But I cannot find a way to do that on our DHD's via any of the obvious settings dialogues, other than exclusively in the hTC Music app?
This is pretty crap for me as I use the handset with last.fm, but cannot find a way to adjust the sound properties. Am I being an Android noob, or is this just simply not accessible at the moment?
I have no idea about the new Android App Inventor software, but could this be used to make a toggle widget for example?
I found it from default music player, but i don't know is it working with Last.fm.. But the Surround work really! I have tested it with Finnish tv program, TVKaista fo Android..

I've found that too, and you're right, it sounds pretty good.
But I can not find a way of activating it in applications other than native hTC ones?
On another note, the DLNA streaming is awesome, but again, is there any way to activate this for other applications other than the native hTC selection?
Start playing something on last fm. Press your home button and launch the htc music app. Make sure you have SRS/Dolby on. Press play and then pause. The sound on lastfm should be enhanced now. That's a "dirty" method to make it work (hopefully).

Nope. You can't trick it either.
Switching the enhancements has no effect, and as soon as you press play in hTC Music, last.fm stops playing and starts scrobbling the track that's loaded in Music - you cannot play both at once, they're linked.
Any other ideas?

I havent tried last.fm. But what I normally do is press play on the HTC Music app and then press play on the other app - this stops the HTC Music app, but the effects (Dolby/SRS) remain active. However, any (sound) notification, like, an new email/message, then the effects goes off. You have to start the process all over again .

Can I modify the dock screen at all?

I use my dock a lot but I'm not a fan of the docking screen. I'd like to make the clock much bigger and get rid of the music album image, just leaving the music controls. Any idea of how I could go about doing this?
this is mostly what I'm talking about.

I do not believe you can change what is on this screen. WYSIWYG
is it possible? yes
but you would to heavily modify the layout of it by digging through many xml and smali files....which requires a lot of skill, that the average user wouldnt have (heck i wouldnt even know where to begin)

its an actual app (htcbeatsnotify.apk) and it only works with "real" beats, not that port
So, what's the idea to have a notification of beats audio if u do not hold the app?

beats audio is way overrated imo in general
however it will never work properly (or at least optimally) without it being supported in the kernel and the framework (as well as using beats headphones)
those mods for universal beats are mostly for show and may change the sound you hear from your speaker/headphones, but its not true beats sorry
i wouldnt worry about the notification icon in the status bar

[Mini tutorial] Beats audio in Poweramp

First of all, this isn't a system mod!
I have found the suitable EQ settings - which resemble the 'Beats' sound in Poweramp - on another forum and I'm going to post them here:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

}
The finder of this has used an older version of Poweramp but you could enter these settings into the newest one. The author has also enabled Dolby surround in his Desire HD. So we can't fully imitate the Beats audio since our Wildfire S doesn't support Dolby, but this is the closest we have come so far. I have tested about 10 different songs with my HTC connected to my Kenwood stereo and I have to say the original 'Beats' sound is still a tiny bit deeper and more direct (Stock player vs. Poweramp; I have flashed the latest patch provided by einstein.frat). Nevertheless you must really listen for a difference to notice one.
One last thing: disable the 'Limit' option in Poweramp's EQ and set the 'Bass' and 'Treble' knobs as shown. Actually you could play with them a little bit, but don't exceed the 1/2 mark (the position of the knob's mark pointing upwards). You could leave the 'Tone' setting on, it doesn't really matter.
Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing.
There is a Stereo X for Poweramp ver 2.0.5.
So, what's the setting for this?
Thanks. Cool EQ.
can we use this in dsp eqalizer ?

OMG. What a question. Just try it. It is only EQ setting.
Thanks for sharing. This EQ settings works good for me with Beats headphones
o waw @[email protected]
man,, first of all,, you should consider not everybody has the same earphone/headphone/headset or whatever speaker like you have,, since it will make a really huge difference.
You can ask for this setting to be sent to some other server eg google drive, or for where to download it from?

Google Music: EQ Settings

I know there are still some of us that use Google Music here, and since this is my first time with it and the EQ settings, I was wondering if anyone got any recommendations for settings that get them the best sounds, in their opinion?

It all depends on what audio output you're using. Built in speaker, headphones, earphones or external speaker? To be completely honest, EQ's are a very personal preference. What sounds good to my ears might not sound good to yours. Go with what you think sounds good
i start my out on flat and if a song doesn't like it should or how the artist wanted it to sound (do to the speakers) i will adjust the EQ accordingly until it sounds good.

I would not like this EQ setting. Too much mid bass and not enough low end for me, and I like me some treble. I prefer a Checkmark curve
How do you get to this equalizer? Thanks

It's built into the Google Music app. Just go to settings > EQ

This is the best way. Also to, sometimes to "fool" you ears to think there's more bass without distorting your speakers, you can turn the gain down a bit and raise the bass. Now this will lie the volume output, but it's all a give and take.
Other things to consider is the volume you must put your phone at as you'll be using the headphone jack and not a dedicated line out. Also too, the settings of the stereo you're plugging the point into. I'd suggest that you put the eq of the stereo to flat as well to start.
Good luck!

Thanks bro.But which versions?
Would also be interested in this. I run viper 2.7 but I have no idea which presets to run.
It seems that viper4a fx legacy works stable for me.I was using other versions that wasn't stable. It has very good sound though!!there is an app call xtreme music on playstore, that has maaany options inside. But to be honest,I never saw any difference in sound.

Never had any problems with viper stability personally. I run EU MIUI rom with magisk just cant find any decent sound processing presets. Especially under viper 2.7 it seems the old presets are no longer compatible.
The best presets are created with our ears related to our earphones [emoji6]
Unfortunately again viper stopped working.Any fix?
