Permission Manager on Jellybean - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

For permisson manager I usually use LBE Privacy Manager. But apperantly I the app isn't yet compatible with 4.1.1. If you run the program it will lock your system and the only way to clear is to do nandroid or factory reset. Just throwing it out there to see it anyone have any suggestions for the mean time?

Do apps from a rom not update in the market?

My question is if I flash a rom and say it has superuser or rom manager. Will that app update like regulare apps I download from the market or is that something I would have to manually update because the market doesnt realy know its there?
I know if I download an app when an update comes out it promps me to update and so forth but when the app is already on the phone from the start what about then?
I am looking for legit answers here no speculations. I have already been speculating since I started flashing roms. The answers seems to be no, especialy since the new gmail app is out and I havnt been prompted to update.
Thanks, Thomas
A lot of the time you can just download them from the market and it will be linked from then on. Sometimes it won't install cuz the app is recognized as a system app. In that case you have a couple options I know of. If you have Titanium, you can either use Market Doctor to re-link the app to the market or if that doesn't work you can remove it with Titanium and just reinstall through the market. Root explorer or ADB are other options for removing system apps. Check in Settings/Applications to see if it will let you uninstall the app. If not, its a system app. Kind of all depends on how the dev put the rom together. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info
Now, if an app is already installed with the rom will it update from the market or do we have to manually update it?

[Q] "unknown user granted SU permission" causes reboot on 4G only

My e4gt rebooting constantly on 4g. "Unknown user granted su permission" pops up before reboot.
how do i know whats causing this?
just installed calkulins 1.5a rom and installed some apps with titanium(which is probably the culprit)
Run Superuser from the app drawer and clear all the permissions. Then when the offending app asks for permission a prompt will come on your screen and you can identify the offender.

tried it...and no app shows up just the permission granted and then reboot. it seems to happen when i try using any app that uses the data service. the log in su has a permission granted but no description of offending app.
Personally I wouldn't be comfortable if an app I had no idea about started requesting root permissions on every startup. You probably do want to track it down. Worst case you can reinstall the base ROM and then put your apps back one at a time until you see the culprit.
Lettuce know what the app is too, it needs to be reported.

[Q] turn off google+

I have disabled it several times and it just reactivates itself. I like my nexus the way it is so I don't want to flash another rom. My only complaint is this. Can I just delete the apk with astro file manager or is another app dependant on it. Thanks
No other apps are dependant on it. You can remove it. It shouldn't show up if you never signed in either
A safer way is to use TiBu to freeze it, because you can always unfreeze it if need be.

Mobile Security Apps

So today I found out about the Gotya! unlock screen app and immediately installed it.
Works great except the GPS is a couple miles off, but that could be because I cant get a GPS lock in the house.
Other than that I have AVG antivirus free and have tested its locate and lock features and they work well.
What concerns me is I read a post that said Avast! cannot be uninstalled with a system restore because it installs to a different partition, so I was wondering if my AVG offers the same feature.. or should I uninstall it and go with Avast!?
I appreciate any advice.. I have tried Google but with such common keywords the results where a failure.
Cerberus is the best one I've seen.

Yea, Cerberus is the best. And not to rub it in, but you missed a free lifetime key by a couple weeks.

Sounds good.. but
"More features for rooted devices: complete uninstall protection (a thief will be able to delete Cerberus only by flashing another ROM), GPS auto-enabling even on Android > 2.3.3. More info on the website in the Help section."
IF what I read about Avast! is true then a system restore will not delete it.
Of course I don't know if there is a difference between system restore and flashing a new ROM.
A system restore will remove it as well as a regular uninstall once you revoke admin privileges. If you download the zip file from the dev website and install it through custom recovery (CWM) then it will remain after a system restore.

"Activvity is not exist in this device" popup when entering Lock Screen in Settings

"Activvity is not exist in this device" popup when entering Lock Screen in Settings
Hello everyone.
I have messed a little up while trying to install as system app some fake gps apps, and since then, my lock screen has been reset, there is no shortcut and when I try to enter the Lock Screen settings a popup appears with written "Activity is not exist in this device".
I can't really understand why doing that caused that.
I guess, somehow, the .apk about the lockscreen got deleted in the operation.
I am running Fulmics 4.3, I'd like not to reflash the ROM just for this little problem.
Does anyone know the .apk related name file or has another solution please?

How about you do reflash the ROM? No need to wipe data if you flash the same system image. You don't have anything additional stuff you edited on system partition that you would lose by reflashing it, no?
I can't seem to find 4.3 but I assume that 4.1 will work. (mega:///#!HE1QzYoZ!ktj3enhUe0_axivfQFC08jxuDKdo_UZ1gV2NzdZnlig)
Ofc do the backup just in case you get stuck in a bootloop.

Actually i would have to re-set up some anti theft apps installed as system app...and I should reflash the 5.1, then the 5.2, then 5.3, then the N style notification bar...
However, I guess I have found on the rom archive the apk I needed.
It should be LGLockScreenSettings_2.apk and LGLockScreenSettings_Provider.apk found under \system\app, the only problem is that I don't remember how to install them
On the root partition I can't find an folder called "app"...
I guess I'll keep looking for the system app location...
Thanks anyway
