Should fix it. Btw I recommend doing that in cm9.1

I just noticed that my screen auto-rotate doesn't work. I've tried with both the auto-rotate setting on and off in the display menu of the settings with no difference. I'm running Jedi-X3 if that makes a difference. anyone have an idea how I can fix this, or will I need to reflash my phone maybe?
On a stock rom, recalibrating my phone worked for me. Not sure on the jedi-x3... I am running stock rooted.

I know its been reported with jelly bean that the screen is unable to turn off normally and you have to push the power button to turn it off. Currently the only fix I know of is a reboot. Anyone with any other tips??
Mine works fine, did you flash any mods or some kind of lock screen app?

Yes, I'm on Wicked Sensations v1.2 right now. But i've read that a few people have been having this issue with JB. I just started using XDA so I can't post on the OP yet so thats why I posted here. Was just hoping for some feedback and opinions. I have flashed a few mods on it, but none seem to be the problem...i dont think. haha
Settings > display > screen timeout..
Is it set to 10 minutes? Cause that would do it

Yeah that was the first setting I tried, changed it to 15 sec to see if it works and it still stayed awake
Thanks!

haha I got tired of guessing what 'could' be causing the problem so I did a clean wipe and flash and it hasn't happened since
Thanks

I thought that may be been the culprit but the setting was off
Thanks
I'm having the same problem
I am not rooted and running stock jelly bean (ota version that I installed early because I was too impatient for them to push it to my phone). I have noticed my screen randomly staying on, too. It's very annoying because sometimes I don't notice until my battery is dead. A reboot fixes it temporarily, but I'd love a permanent fix if anyone has any additional ideas! Thanks! I've tried all the obvious settings, but can't figure it out. Is there an app that can help me figure out what the culprit might be?
(And can I just say, an edit to a post ought not fall under the "wait five minute" rule for new posters. Just my two cents .)

OK. Have a question that I hope someone has an answer for. I am a flashaholic. I flashed Touchwiz dream rom a couple of days ago. Wasn't my thing so I went another direction. Here's the problem. Auto rotate now won't work on any rom other than touchwiz dream. I can flash 10 other roms and auto rotate wont work. Flash touchwiz dream and it works again.
I have searched and found something about making sure that use calibration data is not checked inside the advanced settings in touchwiz dream. It is not. I have checked on every other rom I have flashed and auto rotate is turned on. I am at a loss.
Any help would be appreciated. I need auto rotation but would really prefer not to have to stick with touchwiz dream just to have it.
I have also flashed the Odin GB08 rooted restore and still no auto rotate unless I flash Touchwiz dream.
I was about to suggest flashing a stock rom when i got to the bottom of your post.
The only thing i can think of is flashing a stock non rooted rom and give that a whirl.
After flashing gb08 did you check your auto rotating right away? Did you load your apps then check?
The reason I mention non root is to give the phone a sampling of pure stock. I would say that 5mins after flashing should be sufficient time for rom to settle and check your settings.
By the way, what phone do you have? Touchwiz dream doesn't ring a bell in these here parts.
Pp.

Are you sure you are in the right forum? The Only Touchwiz dream ROM I found was in the T-Mobile Galaxy SIII Forums...
Touchwizdream is new to the Epic 4g touch. Here's the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2170942 I will try to flash a nonrooted stock rom and see what happens.

OK. So I flashed the GA10 stock nonrooted and still no auto rotate. I'm at a loss. Can't figure out why auto rotate won't work on any rom other than the touchwiz dream
I had this problem. The only thing that fixed it was flashing wild for the night 02/15, set my phone on a level surface, goto advanced and check and uncheck calibrate data a few times, but leaving it checked before hitting calibrate. Now flash whatever rom with the recommended flashing process

Thanks to you and Omar08. That worked. Amazing.
hmmm, I'm gonna try this too, I've had this problem, but not from a touchwiz rom. I went from slim rom and then flashed to miui 3.2.22, then rotation was borked. gyro works, but no rotation. went back to one-click stock GB08 then only camera would rotate, but not gallery, then back to EL29 stock and same thing accept I found in GB EL29 that if I held the phone sideways and shook it like crazy eventually it would rotate. the thing that was confusing is that (in EL29) using the sensor box tool, rotation worked fine. the level bubbles rotated without any delay.
I'm downloading the 2-15 wild for the night now and will post back with my results. This is so weird, you'd think a full restore to stock would reset your sensors...

Holy cannoli! It worked! After trying so many ways for over a week now finally rotation works! I was worried that my accelerometer was busted. Thank you so much!
Now to link back to this from all the posts I've made trying to figure this out...
I tried the 2/15 and it didn't work.

Never mind.
I have an issue with my T-Mobile S2.
I just recently installed Dirty Unicorns ROM (4.3.1) on my S2.
When I first booted up I realized how much I hate the Backlights.
I have already searched for quite some time now with no luck.
I have also gone through every part of my settings hoping for an option and coming empty handed.
I have already tried screen filter and no good.
So if you can help me out and find a way to disable these eye-bleeding lights, that would be amazing!
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried going to"advanced" sliding to sensors and untick "enable keys backlight"

I don't have that either
It's probably the kernel. I had something like that happen on HellKat 4.4 with the stock kernel.
I installed Cl3kener's UBER kernel and it was fixed.
Try flashing a 4.3 UBER kernel.

So after I flash what happens? What do I do next? Is it just the kernel
That adds options? How you I disable it after flashing?
Small question. Why are you using a 4.3.1 ROM instead of a KitKat ROM?

Because I had DU on my s3 and I wanted it on my s2 also.
<nvm>
I had DU on my s2 for a couple of months. there is definitely a setting to turn off the hardware key lights. forget where though. had to quit using DU because the status bar kept disappearing. Switched to slimkat and buttery smooth; just wish it had a working camcorder.
