I have an issue with my T-Mobile S2.
I just recently installed Dirty Unicorns ROM (4.3.1) on my S2.
When I first booted up I realized how much I hate the Backlights.
I have already searched for quite some time now with no luck.
I have also gone through every part of my settings hoping for an option and coming empty handed.
I have already tried screen filter and no good.
So if you can help me out and find a way to disable these eye-bleeding lights, that would be amazing!
Thanks in advance!
Have you tried going to"advanced" sliding to sensors and untick "enable keys backlight"

Sadly I don't have that option Dx
Goto Settings > Display > Touch Key Light Duration. Set it to "Always Off".

I don't have that either
It's probably the kernel. I had something like that happen on HellKat 4.4 with the stock kernel.
I installed Cl3kener's UBER kernel and it was fixed.
Try flashing a 4.3 UBER kernel.

So after I flash what happens? What do I do next? Is it just the kernel
That adds options? How you I disable it after flashing?
Small question. Why are you using a 4.3.1 ROM instead of a KitKat ROM?

Because I had DU on my s3 and I wanted it on my s2 also.
<nvm>
I had DU on my s2 for a couple of months. there is definitely a setting to turn off the hardware key lights. forget where though. had to quit using DU because the status bar kept disappearing. Switched to slimkat and buttery smooth; just wish it had a working camcorder.

Juggernaut, the ROM has it as a setting. As far as I know that's the only ROM you can do that with.
in the STOCK Tmo ROM it's listed as
Stay awake
Screen will never sleep while charging
on/off feature
in Settings > Applications > Development
i know... the most non related area to put that feature in
they should have put it in Display or something obvious

That's where it is in most other phones/ROMs, but it is NOT in the stock tmo ROM. Unfortunately.

my bad i guess that's from the Juggernaut ROM then
yeah, i'm so used to seeing it there in CM and stock AOS ROMs
Can a Dev confirm if the stock ROM has the capability for this option, by adding a line in like build.prop or something?

I hate to bump, but is there seriously no ROM chef here that knows how to enable this on stock roms?

Try the app "StayAwake". The app lets you toggle to stay awake while plugged into a AC/USB.
Just be careful... AMOLED will burn in.

This option is enabled in our rom Juggernaut which is based on the stock TMO rom. So the answer is obviously yes to all of the above lol.
on my phone at least, this option is reset every time i reboot. it did it with the android tweak app before and after i rooted and it has done that with the juggernaut rom with every release they have put out.
Hi!
Since 2 weeks I have an issue concerning vibration on calls/notifications. I'm using llama and when I select a profile that should deactivate vibration on incoming calls (like always do) it doesn't work. Still vibrate. Same the opposite. And the same with other apps like MyProfiles or cm10 profiles..
How can i fix it? I've tried with a wipe data with no effects.
Thank you
nobody?

what does "PA" mean? Do you found any walkaround?
(edit: tried with franko kernel, nothing)
up?
I've found that with stock 4.0.4 the feature I can't fix in JB is working. But after the upgrade tu JB/cm10 the problem comes out again.

PA is Paranoid Android, a phablet ROM.
Having same problem.. No solution jet?
Thanks
I know its been reported with jelly bean that the screen is unable to turn off normally and you have to push the power button to turn it off. Currently the only fix I know of is a reboot. Anyone with any other tips??
Mine works fine, did you flash any mods or some kind of lock screen app?

Yes, I'm on Wicked Sensations v1.2 right now. But i've read that a few people have been having this issue with JB. I just started using XDA so I can't post on the OP yet so thats why I posted here. Was just hoping for some feedback and opinions. I have flashed a few mods on it, but none seem to be the problem...i dont think. haha

Yeah that was the first setting I tried, changed it to 15 sec to see if it works and it still stayed awake
Thanks!

haha I got tired of guessing what 'could' be causing the problem so I did a clean wipe and flash and it hasn't happened since
Thanks

I thought that may be been the culprit but the setting was off
Thanks
I'm having the same problem
I am not rooted and running stock jelly bean (ota version that I installed early because I was too impatient for them to push it to my phone). I have noticed my screen randomly staying on, too. It's very annoying because sometimes I don't notice until my battery is dead. A reboot fixes it temporarily, but I'd love a permanent fix if anyone has any additional ideas! Thanks! I've tried all the obvious settings, but can't figure it out. Is there an app that can help me figure out what the culprit might be?
(And can I just say, an edit to a post ought not fall under the "wait five minute" rule for new posters. Just my two cents .)

Use an app called Stay Awake. Works great for me.
I have been having this problem since i switched to jb 4.2.2 and I've been through 3 ROMs. Aokp, Cm 10.1 and jelly bam. The flicker is still there. Has any body found a solution to this yet? I can live with this but it really bothers me though.

Hi, I flashed PA on my Nexus 7 2013, and great so far. However, since doing so, every time I get a notification, the screen will always turn on and display the lockscreen. It's not specific to one app, son it must be at a system level. Gone through all the settings but haven't found and options to change that. Am I being blind?
If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Are you using a custom kernel? As far as I know, there is no such option/functionality in PA.
The Messaging app (which shouldn't be present on a tablet) has this as an app option, but there is no such system wide option.

Seems like I'm running stock kernel. Ran through Trickster mod just to check there wasn't a setting I'd accidentally enabled. Nothing there, this is quite mysterious.
