Well that's not it because my settings on the phone are all on auto-rotate.
the usual troubleshooting steps:
1) restart phone
if not
2) full wipe

I'm trying not to full wipe if possible, any more suggestions?
Jedi rom here. No issues with YouTube landscaping for what it's worth. No issues with anything for that matter. Sorry you're having issues. Would help if I had any ideas. Best of luck getting it taken care of without a full wipe.

I'm extremely happy with the Jedi rom and have no other issues besides this. I'm hoping I can find a solution soon! Thanks
1)Reboot in recovery
2)Wipe cache and dalvic
3)Reboot

Had the same issue, this fixed it for me.
Good luck

Well I tried this and it updated apps, but still no landscape mode on phone, not just YouTube. Also, Beats Audio isnt working either. Looks like I'll be reflashing.

I'm on Jedi-X6. I think that the problem may have come when I was flashing it. I had it plugged in to the pc the entire time I flashed. I gave it 15 minutes without touching it instead of the recommended 10.
Update: Reflashed Jedi x6 4.1.2 and I'm having the exact same problem, no landscape at all on phone. I have found three locations on the UI where auto-rotate is selected. Setting, Display, and Auto-rotate screen; Settings, Accessibility, and Auto-rotate screen; and also in the status bar in toggles. Anywhere else it may be.
OK. Have a question that I hope someone has an answer for. I am a flashaholic. I flashed Touchwiz dream rom a couple of days ago. Wasn't my thing so I went another direction. Here's the problem. Auto rotate now won't work on any rom other than touchwiz dream. I can flash 10 other roms and auto rotate wont work. Flash touchwiz dream and it works again.
I have searched and found something about making sure that use calibration data is not checked inside the advanced settings in touchwiz dream. It is not. I have checked on every other rom I have flashed and auto rotate is turned on. I am at a loss.
Any help would be appreciated. I need auto rotation but would really prefer not to have to stick with touchwiz dream just to have it.
I have also flashed the Odin GB08 rooted restore and still no auto rotate unless I flash Touchwiz dream.
I was about to suggest flashing a stock rom when i got to the bottom of your post.
The only thing i can think of is flashing a stock non rooted rom and give that a whirl.
After flashing gb08 did you check your auto rotating right away? Did you load your apps then check?
The reason I mention non root is to give the phone a sampling of pure stock. I would say that 5mins after flashing should be sufficient time for rom to settle and check your settings.
By the way, what phone do you have? Touchwiz dream doesn't ring a bell in these here parts.
Pp.

Are you sure you are in the right forum? The Only Touchwiz dream ROM I found was in the T-Mobile Galaxy SIII Forums...
Touchwizdream is new to the Epic 4g touch. Here's the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2170942 I will try to flash a nonrooted stock rom and see what happens.

OK. So I flashed the GA10 stock nonrooted and still no auto rotate. I'm at a loss. Can't figure out why auto rotate won't work on any rom other than the touchwiz dream
I had this problem. The only thing that fixed it was flashing wild for the night 02/15, set my phone on a level surface, goto advanced and check and uncheck calibrate data a few times, but leaving it checked before hitting calibrate. Now flash whatever rom with the recommended flashing process

Thanks to you and Omar08. That worked. Amazing.
hmmm, I'm gonna try this too, I've had this problem, but not from a touchwiz rom. I went from slim rom and then flashed to miui 3.2.22, then rotation was borked. gyro works, but no rotation. went back to one-click stock GB08 then only camera would rotate, but not gallery, then back to EL29 stock and same thing accept I found in GB EL29 that if I held the phone sideways and shook it like crazy eventually it would rotate. the thing that was confusing is that (in EL29) using the sensor box tool, rotation worked fine. the level bubbles rotated without any delay.
I'm downloading the 2-15 wild for the night now and will post back with my results. This is so weird, you'd think a full restore to stock would reset your sensors...

Holy cannoli! It worked! After trying so many ways for over a week now finally rotation works! I was worried that my accelerometer was busted. Thank you so much!
Now to link back to this from all the posts I've made trying to figure this out...
I tried the 2/15 and it didn't work.

Never mind.
Just about every time my phone deep sleeps, wifi shuts off completely. I've tried multiple roms and kernels, and every advanced wife setting combination possible. Thinking it's a hardware issue in which case bye bye nexus.
I've googled and googled and only really found suggestions like "uncheck wifi optimization" or "make sure turn wifi off while sleeping is (un)checked". Tried all of that, and still persists.
Anyone else have this issue, or can someone give me an out of the box tip?
Thanks

You've probably already tried this, but have you tried a full wipe? Also, have you tried wiping you device's internal memory (SD card), and have you tried reverting to complete stock and starting over?
its a known issue with 4.2.2 roms, nothing much you can do about it, temporarily it can work but problem will repeat itself
I have done a full wipe, but not wiped the sd card, or reverted to stock. Hoping to avoid such a tedious task.
So my options are either suck it up, revert to a 4.1 rom, or get a new phone?
Thanks

Thanks for your suggestion, let me try and report back later to see if this works.
This problem has been constantly bugging me that I want to dump this phone. Seriously disappointed with Google over all these bugs...
but I keep wifi optimization off... should I keep it on?
If you are unlocked, you can flash some custom kernels to fix the problem. I use Fancy Kernel and the developer included a fix in the kernel.
Fancy Kernel OP
Work-around for Wifi drops (Kernel specific)
After fiddling with the Wifi Optimisation, I would like to report back that it DOESN'T WORK.
On official 4.4.2 and im not getting screen rotation?? On OG kernel, but custom rom. Is this the rom, kernel, or did I break it somehow?

I noticed the same thing happening to me , but I think is exposed framework , are you using that? I flashed a romantic a my rotation works once I install exposed then it breaks .

I didn't know stock Touchwiz allowed landscape rotation without tweaks. Of course, that's usually one of the first thing I dump in favor of Nova or Apex anyway.
Yeah. Never heard of TW rotating on its own. There should be a mod and if don't work. It don't work. Having rotation on TW launcher suckss anyways

Wait... Are we talking rotation on the homescreen with no apps open? TouchWiz never did that. At least not stock out of the box. If were talking within apps then yes, it should rotate, if you have it enabled in the settings. Otherwise it will stay in portrait (or landscape) at all times.

I am having the same issue with both the odin and flashable versions. It works for a while, but then stops working. Really annoying! I am not using the exposed framework or modules, purely stock. Are you removing any apps? That is the only thing I do, but nothing I know to be related.
I'm not sure if this is it, or my "fix" will help, but maybe when updating to KK the phone wasn't level, and the compass/gyroscope calibrated itself to be off center. I don't have any issues with rotation, but what I did when I updated was I opened Bubble Level, and noticed it wasn't "level", so I reset the calibrations for the entire phone, and then put it on a level surface, and re-calibrated it, and now when I open the app on a level surface it is spot on. Maybe give that a try. Here is the app I used.

Hope it helps.

It's funny because that app and the camera app rotate just fine, but nothing else does; not gallery, chrome or anything else I try that regularly rotates. It's definitely wanam or xposed, ran fine until I installed them.

I still have rotation issues. I found with youtube if you make it full screen it will automatically rotate, but you have to hold it all weird for it to stay in landscape lol.

I don't think is wanam or xposed. It must have something to do with an app that I am uninstalling with Titanium Backup. I am currently running Vision X N3 - Tmobile and have been doing some testing. If I uninstall my usual 60 apps that that include S Health and the related sensor app, my auto rotation will stop working. However, if i don't debloat then no issues. I have been running the bloated version for a day or so and rotation still works. I am going to try leaving S health and the related sensor app to see what happens. On 4.3 I would always remove both apps and never had an issue. Oh, and wanam and xposed are pre-installed on the rom. I don't use them, but they are pre-installed.
So, do you debloat, and if so; do you remove S health and its related sensor app?
