I don't think he did.
Follow the advice of bogfather, also I think you should've posted this in the Q&A section. Please do so next time for questions and small general "personal" issues.

Just flash the boot.IMG inside the backup folder and then restore the backup.
About post before, no problem mate, I just want to see less of this posts in general. It's kinda driving me crazy.

Need serious help. Phone not booting

So,I tried installing CM10 following instructions from lloirs thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835285).
I flashed the boot.img in the first step because he says it is a better option.
After that I proceeded to flash the CM10 zip file, but the install failed.
After that my phone wouldn't boot, so I did a restore from CWM and now my phone is stuck on the HTC One screen for a good half an hour.
Please help. Really need the phone tomorrow.

Which ROM would be safe? Because I used the correct Kernel with this as well. Think I should go with the CM9?
for time being use rc 5.0..With kiss kernel.. full wipe first

One X boot image query

Hi guys, maybe this has been asked before but however here goes, I have a ONE X rooted with CWM v5.0.8.0, I have taken a backup of my rom before I installed a custom rom (Venom ViperX) to which I had to use fastboot to flash the boot.img, if I want to restore to my original rom which I backed up before do I or must I use fastboot to flash that boot.img from the backup?
Any advice welcome and thanks in advance and apologies if this has been asked before

You must flash right boot.img (it is in backup) with cmd.
Ps you better delete your ipad signature here in hox forum

Does that mean that I have to flash the boot.IMG from my backup using fastboot

You must use fastboot to flash the boot.img that came with the original rom. Also don't forget clear cache.Or else you might get stuck in a boot loop. Also to make our lives easier to adjust to installing custom roms devs have come up with tools like..."Fastboot Flasher" which does all the typing and actions for you and its something that wont mess things up provided you haven't given the wrong input.
Hope that helps!
Cheers for all the input guys, that makes things a little easier to cope with and it also explains why my HOX wouldn't boot properly after restoring a backup.
All good now though

You should also use the "thanks" button for those guys who helped you find your answer. And in the future use the Q and A section for questions. Development is for those who are releasing something they developed.
Thank you guys!
This really helped me out!

Yeah, I haven't even heard of a version before 5.2.7.0 (I think, but that doesn't look right) that even works with One X, and 5.8.4.0 must have been out 6 months.

[Q] Bricked?

Hey,
my english isn't that good, I'm sorry for this.
The last weeks I've beet trying some roms. Everything was okay.
Today I tried Android Renovate. I flashed the Kernel, wiped everything (except the sd ) and flashed the mod. So there was a bootloop.
I wanted to wipe everything to try something else. But I couldn't even get into the recovery. So I searched on xda for a solution...
But after looking up my version und relocking the phone I could not find a ruu for my hox. (ver.: 1.29.111.11)
Now the one X can't boot anything, has not enough accu, isn't able to start the clockwork-recovery and shut down.
I really don't know what to do next. Can anybody help me?
greez Muff(in)
Use this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734365
Unlock your phone again
Flash cwm
Then renovate boot.img and rom and all should be ok and next time try [email protected]

[Q] Root HTC One X.

Hi all,
I want to ONLY ROOT my htc one x. No more, no less.
Only root.
How can i do this?
Thanks
HTC One X ROOT/SuperSU/BusyBox
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644167
Here's the link, just a tip for next time... use the search function and the root info section
Unlock bootloader, install a recovery and flash supersu.zip. That's it!
If you need more specific instructions, check the guide you can find at one of the tabs of the one x forum index.

Follow post #1 from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904
The other thread posted above is also good. In fact they are practically the same thing for your purposes. See, the info was there all along in more than one place.
Okay thanks. Some last question. I have a HTC one x (international) version. That will work for me?
And will I lost all that I have on my phone?
And the last, do this will install another rom or kernels? Cause I want to stay on stock..
Thanks for a quick reply friends.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
You will lose all the data on your phone, so a backup is recommended. If you follow the guide only through the first post like was said, you will remain on stock kernel and rom and only have root.
Okay thanks a lot. But I'm a little bit confuse, with the two link. Is it the same?
And on the HTC one x forum, I've see a "root info" can I follow this?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
The one in "root info" is a one click method, which is quite simple.
I, however, recommend you to use the other guide (linked by requiem), because by using it you will learn something about adb/fastboot and recovey usage.
If you get in trouble in the future, then you will have the knowledge to recover from it.

Take the first backup of your sd card by using usb cable. Just copy all the stuff from sd to pc. Photos, music, etc. will be saved.
Take second backup, nandroid backup, when you have flashed clockworkmod, by tapping the backup/restore in recovery menu. This will backup your ROM. Nandroid backup will not backup your sdcard.

yup so these are the steps I followed.
1) flashed the boot.img that I had in the nandroid backup
2) restored the backup
3) booted up completely
4) since touch screen doesn't work
5) restarted the phone went into recovery and installed the OTA
6) booted again and it got stuck
7) erased cache from fastboot -> no-go
Also I just checked couldnt find any boot.img in the OTA zip, dont know what im missing here

thanx for letting me knw that it is not kernel related(sigh of relief)
but still, can you suggest some roms so that i'll try flashing their boot.img's!
You can try any rom if your hboot is supported. Receiving signal is something different from the signal strength.
The modules in the rom + the delivered boot.img are related to each other to make signal and bluetooth ...etc etc work.
So flash the boot.img from the rom, make a full wipe in recovery, install the rom. That way it should be all good on any rom.
