Hello,
a month ago I posted this topic to find a solution for htc desire which restarts unexpectedly, I was offered a few solutions in private, but none worked
And I think I just discovered the cause of the reboot continues: the imei under the battery is not the same as the one I get from the phone (I get it witg the command: fastboot getvar imei, because I can not even start the phone correctly!)
So I want to know how to fix the IMEI, knowing that usb debugging is not enabled because the phone does not give me the time to do it)
thank you
The IMEI changed after update, and this problem often happens with lots of other model; so please if somebody get the solution then give it to me in pivate
Thank's

lol afaik the imei stays the same all the time, i think only by changing the motherboard would change the number. and i think trying or somehow changing the number is illegal

If someone has a solution for me in private mail

Hi guys i took my Desire with me to a Outdoor trip and guess what now my phone doesn't work
I looked around a little bit and found that actually i don't get something on the screen its just blank but touchscreen works i can unlock the phone and the PC sees my cell.
Now I want to send it to warranty service but I don't want to lose my warranty so I want to S-on and unroot my cell.
I think this process would be pretty easy (since rooting and S-off where easy steps ) but now that I don't see anything I need your help guys.
My Desire:
Pvt-3 S-oFF
Clockworkmod Recovery
MIUI XJ
If someone could tell me the steps and the button I must press (like press five times down then enter...)
Guys from Germany how is the HTC service did they check for thins like root to void your warranty or would they replace my phone without asking?
And Guys from Turkey if my phone would be replaced I would get a new IMEI can I change this IMEI with my old registered IMEI or do I have to reregister my phone wich would suck (how I hate Bilgi Teknolojileri ve İletişim Kurumu)
I had my HTC diamond at the German HTC service due to a broken usb port. Warranty repair was refused because of a modified bootloader. At least I didn't had to pay for the failure analysis, after several mails I had sent them. Usb port was broken because of too high current and not a software mod btw.
Still you can try. Maybe fortune is on you side.

just do it like it is explained in the guide just do it blind
1.flash downgrader hboot
2.run ruu upgrade
should be really easy
I dont know if someone here has posted something similar but i got a huge problem with my damn htc desire, it is cdma ive tried to install the ruu froyo but it wont let me it says model id error or cid incorrect i have made the damn goldcard and it doesn't work, this phone is pissing the hell out of me. i cant do nothing with it. could someone here tell me plz some way to install an compatible ruu. the phone only boots to fastboot, i can change it to hboot but from there nothing. plz can someone here help me i;m losing my mind.
give us some details then we MAY be able to help you.. we're not friggin' magicians here..
Firstly, the RUU's didn't work because my best bet is that you were using RUU for Bravo and not BravoC (your model) - Hence modelID error.
Secondly, if you're rooted, then you're more than likely S-OFF too so you can probably just fix it, look on my guide. (DO NOT FLASH ANY HBOOTS)
to stop us working double on this, please choose either this thread, or http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/475726-cant-install-any-ruu-htc-desire-cdma.html
It gets annoying trying to help people in several different places.
My suggestion is to stay on XDA as Bortak knows his stuff and will probably be able to help. On AF you may get stuck with me and I just havent the time.
Oooh rootSu sorry didnt knew that androis forums where from here too, my apologies for that. Ummm ok the problem. I got this htc desire bravo_c it was rooted but my brother told me that the phone started on bootloop. Then I exactly didnt knew what he did but then he said the phone was with black screen. Ok I tried some guides from here, the only problem was that it happened like some guy said here, I tried to do an ruu rom but when it started doing the progress when It was at 20% it stopped and now the phone boots only in fastboot. After the ruu now I can see whats happening with the phone but like I said it only boots on fast boot. Oh other thing now the phone is S-on and the hboot is 0.98. Let me know if u need some more details. Ill let u kno,. And sorry again for the other forum.

There aren't that many resources for the bravoC so you've got limited options. As far as I know there is one BravoC RUU on shipped-roms.Com, but if it's not for your network provider I don't know whether it wouldn't just break your phone..
If it is the right RUU for your network then great, use it and hope for the best. If it isn't then stay away from it and contact HTC.
you should root and s-off your phone (when/if you fix it/get it back from repair), so that these sort of problems can be sorted out easily without any hiccups.

well this sucks umm if i contact htc they will probably say to send the phone right? man i was hoping i could fix it with the guides here i really have bad luck.
So the best thing to do now is just to contact htc and wait for what they have to say. thanks for the help, sorry for posting this thread like that, it wasn't my intention to make anyone mad or anything, its just that i was so desperate that i wanted someone to help me.
Sorry I'm not mad and it IS a different forum. But sometimes I end up helping on AF and someone else helps here and we end up either
a) both duplicating each others work
b) taking different approaches.
The risk then is you take some advise from here, some advise from there, put it all together and end up bricking your phone.
I understand thanks for the help. I called htc they told me that i have to call tomorrow because Im from Puerto Rico and their offices are close today so I gotta check tomorrow to see if they are open.
dude i have a htc cdma i rooted. installed cm7 on there..took me like 10 minutes

shut your london ass up
Hi, I'm having a problem with the phone.
It shows empty signal bar with an x and no service.
I tried rebooting the phone, factory reset, installed custom rom, RUU and i did all kinds of wipe and format in cwm and still the same.
* # 06 # don’t show IMEI and in the settings shows IMEI: Unknown
I tried to install different ROM: AOSP, ViperX, Android Revolution HD, Renovate, RUU Stock.
Since I have S-OFF and CID-11111111 I rolled back to HBOOT 1.36 then returned to HBOOT 1.39, did install various kernels and modems, RUU install as Europe and Asia. Nothing has changed. And WiFi always works.
I read somewhere that for S-OFF can be returned to IMEI. Can anyone offer any help? Would be greatly appreciated.
Apologies but i cant offer help on your prob, will leave to the experts but it might help to say what caused it to get in this state in the first place.
As an aside i have s off and was always worried about running an RUU incase it returned phone to s on. Assume from your op the RUU ran successfully and did not change that?

RUU I installed several times 4.0. and 4.1, Europe and Asia are still in the phone S-OFF.
Experts to change IMEI is probably the sellers of stolen phones. They often have to do. Therefore, the replacement IMEI is illegal in many countries and they do not advertise their business.
The service was told to change the motherboard. But it is very expensive.

I can't help you then, you might have to try the 620 ruu but it could still brick your phone, can you go into your boot loader and factory reset it.

Hi there,
First off I would like to say that this site is literally the best for getting information on solving htc problems and I said I'd give it a shot at asking for a little bit of help. To be honest this is my first forum post on any site and I would greatly appreciate it if someone could shine the light on this for me.
My girlfriend has a HTC One (M8s) and yesterday the phone began to freeze, crash and wasn't able to make outbound calls or texts although it was able to receive them? My girlfriend later had an interview and you know turned the phone off but after the interview she tried to turn the phone back on but the phone seemed to be stuck booting. I did tremendous research on this last night and it seems to me that the phone is soft bricked. I can access the phone's data using adb&fastboot to get the cid number and all that information. The phone is also not rooted.
The problem I seem to be having is that I can't find a stock ROM for this phone. I'm brand new to this as I never done anything related to phone firmware... I have read threads on how to flash ROM's and all. I can flash a zipped ROM but the phone gets a signature verification error...
Can anyone please help me on this one as we really need to get this phone back up and running.
