hi guys heres my problem i would really aprecciate it ... i find some realtive threads but mostly related to problems reading the sd cards.. i have a samsung galaxy s2 SGH-T989D and i liked to try many custom roms on it, the last time i flashed a rom i did it with the AOKP and everthing was going well but i didnt like to much so i try a new one (CM10), i used to do it with the CWM 6.0 and there was no problem but this time i flash de CM10 but it gets stuck in the logo, then i made the wipe data/cache and the dalvik and try to install it again but this time the phone dont show anything just the S2 logo, and when i try to install a different ROM it just said "installing THE ROM " but gets frozen there, i tried with different ROMs but i have always the same problem. Thank you.
Use twpr download go manager from the app store click the menu button on the phone and select install recovery

If you cant boot you probably have to install the old cwmr using Odin on your PC then flash a ROM but twpr is recommended over cwmr

I'm trying to install Imperium Initiative V1.0.0. I wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, factory reset, and reboot. How long should the phone take to reboot after following this process? I've waited 10 to 15 minutes and the phone doesn't boot.

No, I'm not bricked. I can still boot into recovery (CWM) and reinstall my old rom. I'm just finding out should it take this long to install or am I just being impatient.
Well from reading the steps that you took not once did you mention you actually flash the ROM

In recovery:
Factory reset
Wipe System
Install
Reboot
Wipe/format system is not the same as a factory reset.
Everyone keeps wiping everything except for the most important one. SYSTEM. make sure you wipe system BEFORE you flash and then you wipe the cache after you flash.

Ok, I'm no noob but can't figure this out, I'm going to cry if the phone is permanently bricked because I paid full price. I've rooted and installed twrp since day one and have flashed many roms no problem, I flashed Darthstalker v5 today and let it boot then reboot into recovery then flashed faux123's kernel and rebooted. ROM booted it up no problem and I've been using it for a few hours. While at work about 20 minutes ago it was acting sluggish so I rebooted it but only this time when it booted back up it was on the lock screen then when I unlocked it it said "Process system isn't responding" with an option to hit wait or ok, up in the corner where the service bars and data icon usually is was a red cricle with a line through it like no signal or something but whether I hit wait or ok the phone would reboot and vibrate twice when at the initial boot screen then stay in a boot loop. Occasionally after rebooted it a few times it will go back into the lock screen and follow the process but most of the time just stays stuck on the boot screen. Obviously as I would hope any smart flasher would have, I have nandroid back ups.
I went into recovery with no problem and did a full wipe of everything but my internal sd card then restored my nandroid of darthstalker v4 I have and the same exact thing happened. I went into recovery and wiped again and restored my backup from when I first got the phone and it was stock, it gets to the Tmobile lte white boot screen and stays stuck. I went into recovery and wiped and reflashed the roms I have fresh and it does the same thing. I'm at a loss for words, I have no idea what's going on because I'm wiping completely and it seems as some error or something is lingering somehow and wont permit the phone to work. I'm at work so I can't use Odin and I'm sure thats what a lot of you will recommend but I'm just curious and slightly freaking out, if this won't work will Odin? And does anyone have any idea why or what is doing this? Any help or advice is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.
edit- So after I flash a backup or a rom if I pull the battery then go back into recovery and just wipe dalvick and cache it will boot up and go to the android is upgrading screen and once it gets to the last number it will say finishing boot then commence back into the boot loop. :sigh:

Hey there guys, long time lurker, first time poster.
I've had a flashed ls970 for a while now, on spleef's 10/28 Carbon build. I was noticing my sd card was constantly full and logcat wasn't the issue, so I decided to format my data via TWRP. I then attempted to flash the current CM11 nightly (1/2) and had it fail on me. After that didn't work, I cleared my cache, dalvik, and data and flashed CM10.2. It worked fine, I got it to work and everything was right with the world. I rebooted it via CM's power menu to have the LG logo pop up and then a blank screen.
As of right now, my phone will ONLY work if I keep it on. If I turn it off, it softbricks. I have to format data, factory reset, etc etc. and the only rom that seems to flash at all is CM10.2. I've tried the stock rom, the Carbon 10/28 build, the CM11 nightly (and the proper gapps) and they all fail. I've tried via adb sideload and have tried via TWRP after an adb push. Last night, I used LGNPST to get teenybin on and got TWRP 2.6.0.0... still, no rom's would flash.
Like I said, if I turn my phone off, the only course of action that enables me to use the phone is by formatting my data, wiping everything except the internal memory (which I know not to do), and reflashing CM10.2 + pa's gapps for 4.3. No other rom's will flash onto the phone. What do you guys think I can do?
Maybe check for a different kernel to flash maybe even look in the performance settings (using trickster) see If your min is set to low

I'll look for some kernel's now and see if that makes any difference. My CPU's min is set to the lowest setting, 384000.
When you flashed CM 11 you needed to use the KK 2.6.3.0. You can find it in the root guide and the TWRP thread. The TWRP in teeny bins is the wrong one for 4.3 and up.
LGNPST teeny bins, flash the kk TWRP and install clean.
BTW any twrp backup prior to the new 2.6.3.0 will fail when you restore it.
Edit. @spleef..Welcome home!

Are you also wiping /system? I think that's what's causing that error.
And your sure you're using the KK 2.6.3.0? The one from Shel's codefire DL and octhropes links are flashable zips.
You may want to just go back to stock, make sure it works, then do CM/AOSP. There's a stock rooted zip in development.

Yeah, I just retried it wiping /system and still failed. On the top of the recovery, it says "Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.3.0," which I got the .img from the TWRP site for the Sprint LGOG. edit: for good measure I flashed the zip from octhrope and rebooted into recovery again.
I'm downloading your ZVC Deodex V2 to flash right now - I'll edit and let you know how it works. I'm going to wipe dalvik cache, system, data, and cache, then factory reset and then flash the rom (just so I'm being entirely transparent in what I'm doing).
edit: The second I started the flah for the zvc v2, it failed:
E:unable to open zip file.
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/ZVC_Deodex_V2.zip'

Check the md5sum. Make sure it wasn't a bad DL.
You may just have to start from LGNPST.
There are 2 versions of the 2.6.3.0. You HAVE to use the KK version to flash 4.4 ROMs. Which should be the one you got from octhrope. Just make sure the TWRP is written as being for kk. Other than what I, or octhrope have listed as KK TWRP's there no way to tell.
So to start fresh. In TWRP wipe the 4 then power off. It'll warn of no OS. Then LGNPST either zvb or zvc? Then you can teeny bin, then flash KK TWRP, and flash a rom. Again... Probably flash stock to start of with.
In the root guide is a walk thru for LGNPST up to teeny bins if it'll help better.

Never stupid questions with our phones.
It's all in the Root guide stickied in Development.
But ... the bin file you need is here. http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23134718111252790 It's ZVC which is our most current.
Then, since you already are using LGNPST, you can teeny bin to get root and unlock.
Then flash KK 2.6.3.0 TWRP, Flash stock ROM and you should be good to go.
Another option is to LGNPST ZVC bin, use fiddy619 root, then install FreeGee from the market and it will unlock and install the needed TWRP or CWM. Either option will work for you
I'm trying to get that file to work through lgnpst and it keeps coming back saying it's an invalid bin file. Anything I'm doing blatantly wrong?
edit: alright, I just used lgnpst to teenybin the sbl unlock version, flashed the zvc deodex v2, and rebooted and now I'm stuck in the LG logo screen... damnit, lol.

That's weird. You should have stock recovery.
If I remember right to get into stock recovery, press power+vol dn until capacitive lights come on then release. It might take a couple of tries. Then do a factory reset. IT WILL WIPE EVERYTHING! SD included. I think you have to use the capacitive menu to select your choice.
LGNPST should go to 67% and reboot. Leave your phone plugged in until the screen comes up that says something like.... Unable to communicate
