try doing "wipe data/factory reset"
BTW. it is fine installing custom ROM while you are using another custom ROM.

i will back up my sd fist then format it
try to put thier updates.. or uninstall those apps has force close.. like repencis if touch the flashlight result of forceclose it makes your status disappear....
just try their updates...
just do a data wipe and cache wipe before flashing through cwm and installing via odin
ps: and also keep a copy of a latest cwm back up
I also experience this problem flashing from bazrom to chobitz
the things i did to fix the problem are.
1. if your on a custom OC kernel flash back to stock kernel. if you have a stock kernel back up please refer to this thread for instruction.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574499
if you didn't back up your stock kernel. click on my attached file and refer to the link i have posted for instruction.
2. if you have a nandroid back up you should try to restore it again using a stock kernel.
3. after you successfully flashed back to stock kernel. another option is to flash a rom which is different from Bazz/repencis/creeds rom (i suggest you flash hybrid 2.1)
4. last option is try to flash again to stock firmware via ODIN (if your firmware doesnt work try using another country's firmware and revert back to your country's firmware if the flashing is successful with the notification bar fixed)
P.S
Do a data reset / cache in stock 2x before updating to CWM and do a data reset / cache again. then flash a rom
Good luck hope this could help you out.
Sorted
All sorted, Thanks for all your help, Operation was successful, No more Hospital hopefully for my device

Heyy everyone! i have a samsung sgh t989D (telus edition) and i tried to root it. I put CWM and Cyanogen on it via Rom Manager and when i started my phone up it wouldnt get past the boot screen so im stuck in a bootloop. I can get to the CWM recovery page but i dont know what i should and can do to get out of this boot loop. I backed up i phone when i was trying to use the samsung toolkit a while ago but i still dont want to lose my data. I also dont care for the rom or root anymore. So i guess im asking what the best way to unroot my phone would be. Also my phone disconnects itself from my computer at times (my laptop makes the noise that a usb has been unplugged) and im using the stock wire with a usb 2.0 port.
Can you get into download mode or CWM without it rebooting? If not, does it get partially through the boot process before going into an infinite bootloop and vibrating every few seconds? If so, you could be another victim of power button hardware failure.

Your not suppose mount the system, just storage. In TWRP you can mount internal or external storage. Also, I'm not quite getting what you're saying. You have tried taking out the SD card and mounting it directly on your PC and it didn't work?

In the CM9 thread it says to ensure you download/install a CWM Touch recovery - if you don't you're guaranteed to get a boot loop. Their "fix" was to download and flash darkside-wipe-cache-only.zip via recovery and that will fix the problem.
I ended up having the same issue and that's how I fixed it.

Hey everyone,
I recently updated to GB27 from GA10 and somehow Nova Prime and Swiftkey were removed from my phone. I visited the Play Store to reinstall them but I get the following error:
Error - Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card.
I'm getting along but it's been a pain in the butt. I've looked all over but can't find a solution. Some posts say to unmount the SD card and others suggest trying to delete a file named "smdl2tmp1" but unmounting the SD doesn't help and the named file doesn't exist. Does anyone have a fix for this? Please! I'm tired of the stock keyboard.

Ok, so I'm having the same issues OP was having, but OP never mentioned whether or not he was rooted. Plus mine seems to be behaving a bit differently, so here goes:
I had flashed a GB27 rooted restore ROM to my phone that I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191954. Prior to that I wiped and formatted both the USB storage and the SD Card and everything worked great. Yesterday, I used ROM Toolbox Pro to use the root browser to install Mobile Odin Lite so I could put AGAT trec_0.3.2 on the phone so I could do nandroid backups for security purposes. At this point both ROM Toolbox Pro and NOVA PRIME are installed with no issues. Checked phone a minute ago for a facebook update that woke me up and all of a sudden ROM Toolbox Pro is no longer installed, and neither is Nova Prime. It was just installed less than 24 hours ago and I didn't uninstall it. It still shows in the app drawer. Icons are still in place. But when you tap on them, it says "App isn't installed." I try to re-install from play store, and run into this issue. So not only am I having this issue, but apps that were previously installed are simply "disappearing" and then falling victim to this process. I can't find smdl2tmp1.asec anywhere on the phone with any root browser I download, and simply un-mounting and re-mounting the SD Card doesn't work. I can't un-mount or re-mount the USB Storage, only format. Haven't tried this yet. Rebooting the phone doesn't work. Cleared the Delvik Cache and system cache to no avail. Even tried fixing permissions in the AGAT recovery menu and still nothing. Oh, and it seems to only be affecting the apps I've purchased, none of the free apps on my phone seem to be affected in any way...
I don't quite know which kernel to flash and if there is a rooted stock kernel I can install with Mobile Odin Lite... Links and help would be appreciated, because I've been scouring the web for an hour to find a fix and nothing is working. T_T
I found the kernel in zip form here. You can find it through the forums on this site but the link I am posting is a few pages deep so you don't have to go looking. Anyway, just place the zip on the SD card, reboot into recovery, flash the zip, and reboot the phone. This worked for me and it was like a breath of fresh air after being choked for a week. Good luck!

Ok, so maybe you can answer another question I have that is a bit off of the topic, but:
I just found a setting in the Data Programming mode (##3282#) under the advanced section that states: "LTE Status: LTE: <not set>." What is that about? I thought the phone was WiMax only...?
No idea what it means. It is probably left over files or settings. This phone is WiMax only so those settings will either do nothing or if changed, will mess up your phone.

So I found out what caused my issues with being unable to install to USB Storage or SD Card. I flashed AGAT_GB27_repack.tar to my device so I could do those nandroid backups... and that has to be what caused the issues because after flashing a stock GB27 kernel to the device it wiped my AGAT recovery tREC_v0.3.2 back to stock recovery... and now the device is functioning perfectly. Could you possibly link me to a kernel that comes built in with some custom recovery so that I can have something like CWM or AGAT, and one that's functioning perfectly by chance? FML. >.>'

Most likely you tried to flash some rom which was not 100% compatible with your phone.
If you can get into CWM or TWRP recovery just do a factory reset/wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache.
Do NOT wipe or format SYSTEM . This should allow your phone to boot completly.
Be sure NOT to try flashing the same rom which gave you the error 7.
If you are still having problems then continue reading...
If you have a cwm/twrp backup (nandroid) of your previous rom go back into cwm or twrp
and restore your nandroid backup.
If you don't have a nandroid backup but you do have a proper zip file custom rom saved to your sdcard
then you can flash the rom making sure you first do a factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik and system.
After that you can start over again but be sure to make a nandroid backup first.
If you still have problems after doing the above you will need to ODIN flash the stock-rooted
Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 Jellybean v4.1.1 firmware.
P.S. You would NEVER get an ERROR 7 if you would only flash stock based "Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 Jellybean v4.1.1 custom roms"
instead of those CM/AOKP/AOSP or Ported roms.
Good Luck!

First of all, make sure that you redownload the ROM, check that the MD5's match, and that you are indeed on the latest CWM recovery.
Secondly, I've heard of these status 7 errors, even when on the latest CWM recovery. There's times when installing certain ROMs where these errors occur, which usually happens when the ROM’s updater script file checks to see if the phone model of your phone is compatible with the ROM you are installing and this portion of the script are called “asserts”. with this it prevents you from accidentally flashing a ROM intended for a different model.
Normally you can fix the issue by installing TWRP recovery but there's another possible solution for this if the TWRP method doesn't solve it but take some serious precaution. You need to be very careful and do this at your own risk.
Follow this step by step guide
http://highonandroid.com/android-roms/how-to-fix-status-7-error-with-cwm-recovery-on-rooted-android/
Following this will remove the asserts thus removing protection upon flashing the wrong ROM. Do if you choose to follow this make absolutely sure that the ROM you're flashing is for the T999.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
---------- Post added at 01:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:40 AM ----------
Status 7 errors can very well still occur through CWM recovery on stock based ROMs.. It mostly all depends on the ROMs updater script and if the dev accidentally made an error within that, which is why the asserts would normally correct that error by forcing the ROM to be flashed regardless.

i rooted my phone and then installed Clockworkmod recovery because i wanted to install cyanogenmod 10.1. i installed a stable version because i thought it was better then the nighly version. after installing it it was stuck in boot loop so i guessed i soft bricked the phone so then i flashed the original rom and everything was working other then dropbox. so i tried to uninstall and reinstall it and after that google play store stopped working. now i dont know what to do or how to fix the problem so if anyone could help it would be awesome.

Try removing your Google account from settings > account and re adding it again and trying it.

Also your boot loop could have been fixed by wiping cache and dalvik and factory resetting. For future reference.

To wipe cache, you go in to your recovery.
