I get no GPS lock with cm10, what ROM should I use to get a GPS lock before flashing cm10? I tried using a caulkin ROM I had on my sdcard but it sent my phone into bootloops, was hoping to avoid that this time around.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Use the el 29 temp boot that is somewhere buried in the dev pages or found on the cm9 blogspot. You might also be able to use the FF18 tempboot. I can't remember if that works with CM10 right now, but the el29 tempboot will for sure work. There is a qbking77 video showing how to use each one though.
Thank you

This is a very common issue that comes up a lot. I personally flash an ICS Rom from Mijjah74 (blend) turn on GPS and start navigating through maps to any address. Leaving navigation running, Boot into recovery, flash format2x.zip, and flash the jb Rom, then GApps.

First try GPS status. Get it from the market. Once you open, hit menu, tools, manage a-GPS, reset. Then go back to manage a-gps, and hit download. wait for a gps sat lock

Just tried this on build 29. Got 0/2 fix/sats. Haven't had to use GPS for anything in a while, but yeah, its not working very well. I tried navigation also, and it just sits on searching for GPS.

Got 11 out of 11 satellites and fix to 3 ft! The CIA can find me easily now! I installed the gps fix on CleanGB before CM9 or AOKP and it seems to have stuck. If you can't get it working you may have to go the Odin route, make sure it works, leave it on, root and flash AOKP.

You need to do it on mtd and.mount system first. CM9/AOKP already use these gps drivers so there is no point.

I'm assuming from reading the original post, it says it has Kobridge's init.d scripts baked in, so the KERNAL included in the ROM must already have that ability for those to work...

I'm sure this probably isn't your first time using odex me, but just in case, I remember it seems to take forever to complete. Like hit ok on reboot and odex.. Go make a sandwich (preferable a deluxe), come back to the phone and (depending on how many apps you have installed) eat the sandwich and you might get done eating before it's done... Forever,

Yeah I've used it several other times and it does take forever, but usually during reboots (thought I bricked on my first use). This time it just hung on the app screen saying it was going to reboot and I hadn't loaded any apps yet.

Lol.. Good one.
I have had that happen to me one time as well. It turned out that the KERNAL I was trying to use it with didn't have init.d support. I'm not saying that is the case here, but generally (unless you're odex me app goes bad sitting on your SD card waiting for its next use) I don't believe the app is ROM specific. Build maybe(FE07/FE10 etc...)? I don't know.

so i went ahead and wiped data/cache and re-flashed the rom, but still i had no root. i wiped data again and flashed back to tfe10 and i was back in business.
bad download or rom not compatible with flashing from fe10 unlocked recovery?

When I open Maps and am driving around, I can see the blue arrow moving where it's supposed to. However, when I when I get directions to a place and ask it to navigate, it stays waiting for the GPS. I'm not certain if this is a Maps issue or a GPS issue. I haven't tried any other navi software, but I really don't know any.

I am also having problems with this rom. I have my phone flashed to metropcs, and cant get data to work on this rom, I think this might have something to do with the build prop settings, but i dont know what settings to change. This is happening with all cm 10 roms that i'll tested so far. Is anybody else having this issue?

I doubt it's the build.prop not allowing your data on metro. More than likely, the data settings are set to Sprint. I'm not sure how to do it on this kind of ROM, but in a TW ROM, you would find what your MSL is via one of the market apps, then go into your data settings by opening the first and typing in ##3282#. Don't know about this ROM though.

Has anyone successfully compiled the lidroids/Wanams 23 toggle mod for LJ7/MB1 with stock theming?
It has been compiled for LJ7 with mijjah's theme here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033061
The international SIII:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032614
For the Note II:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2022255
If someone hasn't already done this I will when I have a moment attempt to compile it myself. I really only want the blocking/dormant mode toggle. Sadly the 15 toggles do not have it.
Anyone run across one yet?
I haven't seen anything about it for MB1 so go along and take the lead I'm sure it'll be appreciated

Here is a first draft. I believe I got all the icons switched out. It boots fine on top of a few MB1 ROMs. Still has a lot of theming to change. I don't know off hand how to do the rest, but could probably figure it out with help. The menu bar and colors still have the Mijj theming. also, it has the gps localization icon error. Not sure how to fix that, but I believe it's been fixed in some ROMs.
I worked on it some more today. Trying to learn how to do this stuff. I posted a question in mijjah's thread

I'm running liquidsmooth rc8 with a touchwiz launcher and I just flashed the ASDK 4.1 final earlier.
