Issues on CM7 1.0-RC1.5-jordan-signed

First of all, I would like to thank everyone involved in making our Defy's so awesome.
Thanks to you all, as after getting all the info and help, I was successfully able to
upgraded to CM7 1.0-RC1.5-jordan-signed, and after few initial hiccups everything is working fine. Except the battery drainage issue. And I have been loving the new look and feel of my Defy ever since.
Today Morning. I've started getting a new problem. Whenever I want to call someone and I go to contacts, it force closes itself with following error:-
"The Process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I have restarted the phone and no respite from the problem.
Help please....

Did you change something or install a new app immediately before this started to happen ? Did you restart your phone while it was still connected to the PC or so? Some other people solved this problem by doing a factory reset. But you need to find the specific reason or cause in your case and correct that.

Well, the last thing I did last night was that I installed two ADW themes. and also downloaded few wallpapers.
Do you think, the themes could have created this problem?

As there is, according to my information, no standard cause for this problem, everything could be the reason. Other people reported this error on different devices too and the reasons were diverse.
Some have had the problem after installing a new app, others due to rebooting the phone while it was still connected to the pc. Others made a factory reset and then it worked again and the true reason was never found.
It won't kill you to try and disable/uninstall the new themes or wallpapers (if they are live wallpapers).
Maybe there is another specific well known reason for that out there. In this case I simply don't know one.
If you're lucky, others had the same problem and have identified a more precise cause. Then they will answer hopefully.
I would try to undo the last things you changed before and find out the true cause.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Will uninstall the new themes.
And as you said, Factory reset. If I do that, what exactly will happen.
Asking this because as mentioned before, I'm no longer on the version which came with phone and I am on CM7. so Factory reset will take me to which phase?

You may also try fixing permissions before with Rom manager.

well the link tells me what will happen on a stock rom. My question is. If I factory reset on CM7, will it take me to the original state or the default settings of CM7.

Flash cm7 again! maybe it helps.

guys,do i need cyanogen 7.1 installed on my device to install cyanogen 7.5?

Make a backup and try wiping via CWM. Both data and cache partition.

You can flash any CM7 directly via recovery menu if yer on Froyo.

Recenty started getting few more issues.
1.> Phonebook crashing because of FC's. I'm hardly able to use my phonebook now
2.> Last night, messages stopped working. Again FC's.
3.> Today morning the native camera application stopped working.
And I have done following to overcome all the issues with no luck:-
wipes all cache including devik.
Did factory reset
reflashed with CM7 jordon 1.5
All failed to give me any respite from the errors.
Now I have downloaded cm7-110923-0710-Nightly.
Do let me know if this is an OK one. I've faced way too many errors and afraid of showing it off to anyone now as It might crash anytime.

Much to my disappointment, even flashing to newer nightly, I'm still getting the same errors.
Can someone provide me the 3.4.3-36-1.7 SBF? the one in the link provided earlier is not working.
Or any other solution.
The errors are way too much to ignore, and if this continues then I have to go back to Froyo. But I seriously love the new feel of the phone. All thanks to CM7.

i installed the rom amanger premium
after that i installed the 2ndInit from market for android and installed the latest version .....and after that i uncheck the usb debugging and restarted the defy
since then its auto rebooting from logo to black screen and back to logo ....

I had this issue too..just reboot your phone and everything will works normaly again..

i hv this issue alsi when i'm using lower class memory card. now using class 10 16gb card with bionic rom without this camera failed problem.

Try to flash a new Camera.apk to you phone. Hopefully that is only software problem.

I had the same problem and I solved it by uninstalling oovoo....it's only a case???

do u have cwm on ur phone? reboot ur phone into recovery then choose advance and choose fix permission, wait until finish, then reboot ur phone after it finish

Unfortunately I have the same problem. My camera does not work anymore. I just receive the message "Camera failed". I still have the stock rom installed and I did not modify too much (I just installed some apps). I have already reset the phone to factory settings which did not solve my problem. Does anybody have an idea what I could try to fix the problem?

I just have formatted my device and flashed it with a stock rom. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem with the camera. I still got the error message "camera failed" when I click on the camera app. Any ideas? Is it a hardware problem? Should I flash a custom rom?

I got that message once, and I panicked. Fortunately, rebooting did it just fine.
Perhaps there is something wrong with the firmware...I searched the net and found this article, maybe useful, IDK.

Thanks for the reply and for the link. Unfortunately I do not understand step 3. When I scroll to "Camera" I do not see a 2nd option which should be named as "user". I just see "camera" and "camcorder". What should I do? Do I have to root the phone?

ok, I have rooted my phone and I have tried the fix described in the link above again. However, I was not successfull. I do not get these options described in the link ("user"). Maybe I am using a wrong version of Pro Launcher. I just downloaded the new version from market...Anyone with a suggestion/idea?

Camera failed
I used to face this problem quite a lot when i was using the stock rom, but after flashing to cow's rom, the problem went away, no more camera failed anymore

Yesterday after upgrade to baseband v. i8150dxlc1 Kernel [email protected]#3 (KIES UPGRADE) i dont have that problem anymore

I accidentally formatted everything from my phone. I was in CWM and I formatted everything, and now I basically do not have anything on my phone at all. After the LG boot up logo, the phone goes blank. I'm able to go into download mode. I tried following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2420219, I keep getting failed previousload() a few seconds after clicking the top left yellow icon in LG flash tool. Anyone have any idea whats going on or how to fix this? LG E988.

Copy a compatible ROM to your memory card and start CWM to flash the ROM you have just copied.

Thanks for your reply, however i finally managed to solve the issue. I sideloaded a custom rom using adb. Phew!

What section did you find your fix in? My friend did the same thing to hers and I can't find the command line.

Hi I didn't find it in one particular section, I had to search everywhere, i spent a good 8 hours straight searching as I really needed my phone to work. I will try my best to start you off though.

[Q] System UI has stopped

Hi, I recently unlocked bootloader in my device, and I proceeded to install HD Revolution ROM.
I had some issues, but I solved them. Then, next to install ROM and boot it, appear 3 message error:
- unfortunately system ui has stopped
- unfortunately easyaccessservice has stopped
- unfortunately htc dot view has stopped
I tried to solve this but I cant, I wiped cache (in other post recomend it for this issue) but I try to restart and same error appear. And the phone stays at: Unlocking your SIM card and setting up your phone", but it dont stop.
Any ideas for this??

OP3 phone is un-usable please help!

Hi everyone,
I have an issue with my wife's OP3 that is driving me nuts.
Her phone runs stock OS without any changes but with an unlocked bootloader (just to be on the safe side i like to have an unlocked bootloader on all our devices).
I'm not sure if its related but I'm including it anyways she was playing a game on her phone and then she received a call and she answered it and tried to switch the call to speakerphone and the phone started rebooting right after booting the OS after 2-5 sec i would say "factory data reset" (see attached screenshot) and would reboot to the recovery.
then i would boot the phone again and the issue repeats itself.
so i used fastboot boot twrp.img to boot a recovery image and run a nadroid backup to a USB OTG just in case the phone is really hosed or whatnot.
I downloaded stock zip from oneplus's site and flashed it again from TWRP just to make sure its not some funky issue that happened to the os.
I even factory reset the phone from stock recovery and the issue would happen on the new phone setup wizard.
after a bunch of fiddling around I've flashed LineageOS 16 nightly and the phone boots normally and is fully usable but when i try to make or receive a call the phone app freezes and then crashes also sound doesn't seem to work when i try to play videos from youtube for example.
Any ideas what is the issue and how i can resolve it ?

Take a backup of your personal files and then wipe system, data, internal storage and both caches. Then flash OOS 5.0.8 and without adding any apps, check the calling function. If it still happens, then most likely a hardware issue.

If it's a hardware problem which part should I replace?
I already ordered a battery before this issue started and I was planning on replacing it once it gets here maybe I can replace one of the parts in order to resolve this issue

You will need to replace the main board if the issue persist.

Hmmm quite strange that you're having the same issue.
I didnt find a solution yet i gave her a temp replace phone that we had in a drawer somewhere.
Did your wife do anything out of the ordinary when it happened? are you having the same issue that LOS works but stock rom shows factory reset?

try using msm v3.0 tool fixes most problems not hardware though

No, She did not do anything out of the ordinary. But weirdly I have exactly the same things happening. Lineage works but no sound. Everything else factory resets. I have tried quite a few ROM'swithout any luck. So far the only ROM which worked for some time(1day) was 6.0.1 . I have spent quite a long time on this flashing various ROM and dont know what to do now.

Update: @ireaper4592 might have a point here. I have gone one level up and I tried msm v3.0 tool, thus doing a complete reinstall including firmware. The factory resetting stopped but the sound was not working (I thought that it could be the ROM and the security patches). So I updated to the latest ROM available from Oneplus and evrything has been working since. I did this last night so not sure how long this is going to stay like that. I will give it some time and update later. Wife is using it now!

what you will need to do is download the oneplus 3 recovery tool and put the phone into qualcolm mode and restore the phone that way. here is a link https://www.androidexplained.com/oneplus-3-unbrick-return-stock/

That tool/procedure will reset your phone. So you will lose everything on the phone. Take a backup beforehand.

I cant believe it i was sure this was a hardware issue which ended up being a software one that the MSM tool fixed.
When I have a few minutes to spare i'll write a full post on how I ended up resolving it with step by step instructions and how I did it without any dataloss.

I was about to update here with good news but wife's phone went back to restart loop the next day. I am not sure but probably triggered by her installing whatsapp and facebook. I put the phone away because I have already spend quite a lot of time behind this. Is your's still going? Please list the step by step procedure. Thanks
